Nice Video Joe, great to see ya testing gear! I like the humor 😂 got some gators in those mountains👍🏼and the Rambo radio scene haha! I’ll be checking out them radios them seem like they work well!
Glad you enjoyed it Ill try to get more out like this one.. Ive just been waiting for my viewers to take more of an interest in them.. theyre definetly harder to make than my review videos.. Thanks for watching!
Joe, if I were you, I would've have a tow line in the gear sled, hooked it up to the logs and pulled them out of the way, instead of sawing the up. You might saved your knee pain for another time. And, when you left your campsite, you could have pulled the other ones off the trail and continued with your quad. I wish that I could convince you to go with a AR-15 platform in .223 or .300 blackout. You've got bears up there too, and that 9mm wouldn't be much good. I'd suggest carrying a .45 or 10mm pistol. Did you leave your 10/22 back at your campsite? Reaching out to from Iona.
Yeah, I wasn’t planning on there being any fallen trees on the trail, so I was happy just to have the saw, but yes.. pulling the treees out of the way would have been easier.. as far as bears, we just have black bears, and there aren’t many here at all.. plus they are mostly hibernating in the winter.. the only real threats we have in terms of wildlife right now are moose and mountain lions.. for which, yes I should be carrying something with at least a higher mag capacity! But hey thanks for looking out and thanks for watching!!
Good lessons learned here! Leave earlier than you planned. Know the forecast and how to get updates. Think about bringing the small chainsaw for newly explored trails if you're not afoot.
Great video. You riding on your Kodiak makes me miss mine. Man that thing would go through anything. I had 27 inch swampers on it and a custom white brother's exhaust that I made to fit it from a warrior 350.
Love the video, bro!! I'm about to pick up one of these stoves you recommended! Can I get the link to your Etsy shop I want to get some of those fire starters
Thanks man, glad you liked it! I actually only have a fire kit on my Etsy store right now.. I need to create another listing that has the Fire starters only.. if you order a flu pandemic kit from my Ebay store, which is cheaper than my Fire starters I’ll send you the Fire starters and a couple other things with it! Great reception with those boafeng radios, especially for sub $50...what type of batteries do they use ? I looked on Amazon but couldn't find out exactly..... Thanks for sharing n' God bless brother
He doesn't mention a model number but I think it's a G11s. It looks like it uses usb-c direct charging. It depends on the model. The older ones only charge in a cradle but have aftermarket batteries that can be charged via USB. Several of the newer models are coming with batteries that can be directly charged using usb-c cables.
I’m am also a Wisconsinite and I will tell you a 9mm will do the job for anything we have in WI, even those black bears, they also aren’t like to attack. The only thing I can tell you a 9mm can’t take is an elk or a moose, we don’t have those yet but word is they got a few in the U.P
Hi I saw in one of your last videos that you might be interested in collaborating on some live Streem topics let me know if you are interested in putting something together
Tried 2 of their pouches. (Spaghetti pouch & the Eggs Pouch) both were meh… not worth it in my opinion. Mountain House and a packet of table salt makes for a much denser, tastier, and warming meal (for both of those recipes)
Question, if you don't mind ... If the trail is "abandoned" ... how are you on/using it? Since you are on/using it, it CAN'T be "abandoned". "Little used" or "Rarely used" is much more accurate a description. The fact the trail ISN'T grown over, saplings in the path/deadfall-wind fall across the path, and the path is still visible, all indicate there are at least a few others using it.
Your quad’s gun racks are perfect for transporting a scoped rifle.

You need a good chainsaw to carry on your quad. I cut trees for a living, so almost always have one or more chainsaws with me.

What caliber pistol do you carry? I’ve been thinking of picking up a 10mm but the biggest 4legged creatures we have in Wisconsin are black bears.

@@Glock_Switch I usually camp with an AK or AR and my G19. Maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to buy another caliber pistol 😂
@@barrykehoe996 good choice, and I know how it is, 9mm is a good common round but yeah find that excuse to get a bigger caliber 👍
May I recommend some 2/4 boards under the sled to avoid wearing the plastic during the journey?
Might think about bear spray in that part of the country.
Very few if any bears around this area right now.
Better yet a 10mm. Better yet a 500 Magnum or 12 ga. Better yet a 416 Rem Mag, LOL.
