Preppers often have a lot of old stuff that we probably won't use anymore and that could save someone else's life. You're a good man, and I'm with you.
Not giving him a shotgun.....so he can come back and get the rest. Family or not, desperate times call for desperate measures. You did a good job with the bin, but most people can't just set up and give away roughly $400 worth of stuff.
So get cheap stuff of temu/dollar tree. I'm setting something up like this that I can give to a family with kids who pass by or even trade for something.
So make it cheap. You can get stuff from temu or the dollar tree. I'm setting something like this up that can give to a family with kids that passes me or for trade
Why are so many people telling this man what they would replace with something else, or what they would add to all he has already done?!!! If you would or could then HAVE YOU?!! Otherwise maybe just appreciate the effort he has ALREADY PUT IN, admire the ACTION he has taken?! I have to say, sir, you are AWESOME!! ❤
So basically what you're saying is he should take no constructive criticism, what he says is gospel, and there's no room for improvement? Sorry to tell ya, but in this community there is always room for the above, and we are all about passing information.
My brother and his family keep enough food in their cupboard for about 4 days. No joke! The mostly keep small convenience appliances and kitchen utensils-- in their cupboard!?! I wonder how many other people operate like that?
I honestly prefer- 15 boxes kits for my grown children and other family members. If after sharing with them many times before. So when that huge Chicago storm when had many years ago that was so bad that folks was stuck on the way. Then when covid hit I only had a few I had to help out… but now, I don’t worry anymore because now they all know better. Honestly however… I’ll always keep at least 10 box kits because you ever know what might happen. Pammie from Chicago Illinois. P.S I believe we all should plan for 10 people we care about to show up
I agree that there is strength in numbers, but also that my preps are just that...mine. I put in the work. I have enough preps for my family plus 5 people I know would come over. I am their prep. Not because I feel I have to, but because I have the space and have worked out that plan with them. SHTF - COME OVER! They don't have the space at their homes, but they all bring education and skills to the table. Medical knowledge, foraging, building skills, hunting etc. Plus they helped pay for their part of the supplies.
If someone says they are just coming to your house, ask them for a list of what they are bringing. That should help put into context what they are suggesting.
My son (8) was concerned about his best friend with everything going on to the point where it was stressing him out thinking about them going hungry. He now takes part of his chore money and adds a bit of food back for his friend and his family every week. I reached out to the boys dad and he was grateful for the kindness. It felt like it opened the door to having another person to call on for a prepper group as things spiral down.
What an awesome, caring young man you are raising! Imo, the ability to look ahead and want to care for others, denotes a compassionate and intelligent being. Such a rare occurrence in today's youth. Thank you for not brushing aside his concerns. And thank you for reaching out to the other dad; you, too, are showing compassion that is often sadly lacking.
Nobody gets a gun unless they're with me pulling security of some sort. No way. People will get desperate, and even close "friends" may try something stupid to keep their kids from starving.
My neighbors have TEN KIDS!!! I'm very nervous because I have no idea if they prep or not. I already have a 6 person family. I won't be able to share. I hope they stay in their lane and do prep....
@@lyellclare9365 🙏🏾 Romans 10:8-13 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
I pick up backpacks at yard sales - never paying more than $1 - and have them all tucked away in a tote. Should SHTF, I can put a few essentials (flashlight, water bottle, water filter straw,, etc) along with a few baggies of food and hand them out. The totes are great - useful as a table and to keep things out of mud/etc but backpacks let someone have their hands free for pushing a cart or stroller, etc.
Every year I do something slong those lines with my parents, my kids' grandparents, and my girlfriend's parents. It might be a bucket or two of LTS food, major water purification (I bought berkies a couple years back) etc. It's the least I can do IMO. Thankfully, my mom is no longer resisting and even put a little more back
It's a nice kit for anyone. Thank for sharing not only the kit but your compassion. We made a 72 hour emergency kit that includes most of the items you showed for a couple who struggles to pay condo fees and panhandles. They said they put it on a top shelf as a "just in case". They now have a way to make some hot meals and beverages and can stay warm and nourished if the power goes out. It took a long time to find items that we could include that were decent quality but affordable. It's doable.
Items I'd add: TP, something for kids (pack cards, coloring book & crayons) a heavy-duty shopping bag (packs down small and can be used as alternative to backpack). I'd also donate all these packs to local church / community charity organisation and put a sign up by my gate / door directing people to this place to pick up supplies.
@@tinagoodman7256 me? yes, i got more then i need not for many people and not for long but it's going on. i can store some item to give to oter like neighors and it's only some candles. sorry to my english. 🤷
I like that idea, that way it can get to people in need without exposing you & yours to unnecessary danger or confrontation & without others knowing where those supplies came from.
A thought based on personal experience. I no longer leave batteries in any electrical equipment as they can leak if left in for too long. And if the leakage is enough, it will be a challenge if at all possible to get the item working again. I grab tape and wrap the batteries to the side, or I’ll wrap tape around the battery at the connection points and install the battery so it’s easy peasy to get said instrument working very quickly.
Right you are! I left batteries in a set of two-way radios, and when I pulled them out after about a year and a half of not checking them, the batteries had corroded one of the radios so badly I had to throw it out. Now I tape 4 batteries to the outside of each radio to be put in when needed. And that way, of they leak or corrode, it won't be inside the device. I have the charge kind as well, but like battery operated in case the grid goes down and they can't get charged.
I will give a kit like you’ve shown to each of my grandkids when in my opinion they are mature enough. No firearm though, that’s their parents responsibility. I’ve told my local relatives that could possibly get to my place that they better bring every ounce of food they can fit in their vehicle or we’ll just starve faster if it’s a longer term issue. I’m retired so I can’t afford to prep for everybody.
That is a GREAT idea! Why I had not thought of it gives me a "DUH" moment. They do not want to play? I will give them the stuff anyways. In a tote so they can shelve it and pull it out when needed. I would leave a printout in the tote of how to use it and to practice with appropriate items. I will start getting one together today!
I don't talk about preparedness with people anymore. They look at me like I am crazy. SHTF, they're on their own. Fuck em, friend or not. My neighbor/friend always laughs when I tell him to prepare. He won't be laughing when he tries to come over after SHTF and needs stuff..
This is a really generous and thoughtful action on your part! That’s a great kit! If your kin/guest doesn’t have a backpack or piece of luggage to put the goodies in, then something is way wrong. The wool blanket and some cordage could be used to make a hasty carrying roll for most of those gifts. The other items could go into a heavy duty garbage bag. Hopefully, they would be able to get to a safe destination. If not, they’ll be desperate and scared, then probably ask for help again in 3-4 days.
It's actually a great idea! Give them a good lecture, show them how things are used, what to do on scenarios...get them physically, emotionally & mentally prepared...for anything, at anytime!
Speaking of people coming back, I think those who leave on foot with a backpack won't get far, and could easily come back. Facing that, I might offer a ride, too. It's hard to imagine a scenario where they don't have a car or truck, but I do (gasoline availability being key). Still, if they ride 20 miles away, for example, and later consider walking 20 miles back, I bet they don't.
I clicked on this video literally thinking you were to slam the door in their face and threaten their lives if they didn’t leave. However, to see your level of compassion taught me a lot. 1.-be prepared yourself but you can still have compassion and help where you can. Very nice man. I appreciate you
First mistake, not answering the door with a gun. A lot of people will say not to help out someone who hasn't prepared. They don't take into account a friend or family member who may have prepared but lost everything. If someone shows up that could be an asset in this situation, either thru a skill they have or access to something your family may need. Having a kit full of spare items to help get them started, like your kit, could go a long way in establishing a beneficial relationship.
I stopped telling anyone that I prep years ago. The response was always ‘we will come to your house’ I plan my preps for extras but can’t take care of everyone who didn’t prepare because didn’t listen
I've told a few people including my banker, (yes, I have a personal relationship with a local bank manager, it is part of being prepared) Anyway, I've told people that if you come to me looking for help I will put you to work in the garden, or splitting wood, or digging a well or an outhouse. If it becomes long term, you will be a serf, a medieval peasant working for the lord of the manor, you children will have the same fate. I've been asked, "are you serious?" my reply, "If it is a matter of life and death, that's pretty serious." then I've added "If you think there is a chance this may happen, perhaps you should examine alternatives in your own life."
This week we expanded the garden by 10% and put up new fence around it. We planted 13 berry bushes, rows of beets, carrots, radishes, onions and marigolds aroung the entire garden. Previously planted were potatoes, garlic, 3 other berry bushes and another apple tree. Still to plant, sweet potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, caulliflower and sunflowers. Some of those are sprouting under lights, others will be planted directly. I also received 9 cubic yards of free wood chips and started spreading them, watered and turned the compost. Oh, and watered all our new bushes and trees. They were bare root sticks a week ago and they all have new leaves. Total under cultivation, 1 nut tree, 13 fruit trees, 21 berry bushes, a grape vine and 1,700 square feet of garden on our half acre. And we still have room for the dog to chase balls. What have you guys been up to to prepare?
@@rodgerhedgefield6745 In every economic crisis there is an opportunity to gain multi-generational wealth. As we believe a major economic crisis (this will make the 2008 crisis and the covid economic crisis seem like good days) is ahead; we are doing this for our heirs.
I know that I will be hit upon and preparing for this has kept me thinking and preparing. Carring a tote down the street will be too blatantly obvious and cumbersome, so I am continplating inexpensive backpacks. I truly appreciate your video. Bless you.
Yes back pack a better idea, I'd also put a fanny pack in with a few essentials inside( lighter, small torch ,knife etc ) , to wear under your clothes. Incase the backpack gets lost or stolen .
I try to have extras on what I can but I don’t own a property or a house to store stuff for other people 🤷♂️ my tiny home trailer is prepper equipped for two.
I would only give a weapon to someone that I trusted implicitly. Im not as hardcore a preper as you are but I do believe having emergency kits everywhere I go is a damn smart idea. I have given people emergency kits for their vehicles in the past but plan to give 72 hour kits to each of the households for my close friends and family members for birthdays and Christmas this year. Im nearly happy with my own preps just need a few things to round things out. Most of my family also believes in having a well stocked pantry 2-3 months easy. No problem.
I like the concept of not leaving your friend behind. If friend will be moving on, then have it in a backpack for easy transport. But I would encourage friend to remain on the property and have a tent ready to pitch for him. Having outposts with another set of eyes and a strong back may benefit you. You covered most of the 10C's but I don't recall seeing a cotton bandana and a canvas needle. Also we are assuming friend knows how to use this equipment, else written instructions may be helpful. Overall, good job, I like it. Let's hope friend appreciates it.
What ever Backpack you have extra. About 10x20 Tarp, transistor radio, any extra Blanket, 2 bic lighters. Old Flashlight. Go to Salvation Army or yard sale for Knives cups pot or pan. Maybe boxes of flavored rice mix little JURKY, life straw, Bug spray. If you’re extra nice through in some fishing line and Hooks, som kind of Rope and tell them to come back with Food and Ammo and ready to work…
I'm new to prepping so watching what i can to learn what I can do on a lower income. Interestingly enough several of these items are actually already in our day packs we use for boy scouts.
Yes most items don't cost a lot, and most of us have them already. Just gradually stocking up when you can, buy a little extra each time. I plan to make more videos about where to start and low budget prepping soon. Thanks for watching, glad you're here.
The severe storm in Houston Texas this evening was another wake up call. Close to 1 million people without electrical power and 4 fatalities this evening. Always be ready.
Sorry im not prepping or putting in in preps for people who didnt listen. Case in point. I told my family for years to gave essentials packed away. Hurrican florence came through, they where left with no food. No fuel for their generator etc. They came and asked if i could spare some because i have plenty. I told em get bent i prepped for my family in my house. And told them how to get prepped and they didnt listen.. this was my mom sister brother in law and neice and nephew..
A hurricane hit here, and before, we told our neighbors to get gasoline for their generator. Of course, they didn't listen. They came over, just about demanding fuel from us. It wasn't a good day.
Talk about not being prepared. We had a major power outage in New England some years ago and I have had solar and wind power backup system for emergencies. My neighbor across the street who owns a true value of franchise asked me if I could run a cord across the street so he could plug in his meat freezer.. that's the kind of crap I'm talking about not being prepared
@@voodookitchenmamaoh some of us ain't the one. He would've been dropped on spot. Got me effed up to think someone can come demanding. You're mad at yourself cuz I told you so and I was tight
@@idahoprepper I get your point in the video. I do actually have some HDR’s on hand for just that purpose. Just hope they’re not very tasty so they won’t come back for more! LOL
Good idea, its definitely going to help to have that option of giving it out. You can also leave it anonymously to help that loved one out and not have them come asking for more later
You like people more than I do. I've quit trying to get them to listen. I don't know how anyone can watch what's going on in the world, and the economy in our own country, and not think they should prepare.
Bad idea, 1. They know you got supplies 2. You gave them supplies 3. When they're desperate they'll come back for more 4. When you refuse to give them supplies again they wont be your friend anymore 5. That gun you gave them might just be the death of you Morality only exists for as long as people aren't desperate and remain civil, but when you watch your family starving to death, drips of water being rationed out, people we are friends with will kill to provide for their family's even if it means killing you and your whole family in the process, thats why I say be stern and tell them to go away and or you will put a bullet in them, dont think of them as your friend anymore because they could come back days later and be the reason why you and your family die. That's the harsh reality. We all want to have morality in those times but the truth is those have to be the first to go in order to keep your family safe from outside threats, its a day everyone should prepare for but hope never arises.
Maybe, or it could help them and help me... at the end of the day, its all just speculation. I try not to allow the sensationalism of hollywood " end of the world" movies to influence my prepping strategies! Thanks for watching!
Yeah so better to let them stay in the first place. That would bolster your security. If it was an invasion type event then there would be strength in numbers also large gangs of marauders may be hard to fend off. Then you would also have extra people for guarding round the clock.
Yeah, this makes no sense. Better to find a way to secure yourself and your family than to rely on someone else to help you defend what's yours. When times get desperate, that extra guy with the gun is just as likely to turn on you.
This is a good idea just for a basic survival kit as well. My sister and I are getting our first apartment. It’s a good way for me to set us up without turning her off of preparing
Depending on the speed of the situation, part of our ‘charity’ could be perishable foods that we wouldn’t be able to eat or preserve in time. If electricity and generators went out, your neighborhood could grill out all of the food that would go bad. You could buy a little goodwill with your neighbors. And, you won’t be tipping your hand that you’ve been preparing longer term supplies for SHTF. If the needy are people who will be remaining in your area, fishing gear and garden seeds might be a good idea as the recipient might feel obliged to give you a share of what they produce with those things.
You are more generous than I am… I have one gallon glass jars full of beans. That and a lowered shotgun barrel should be enough for them to get the message.
The intro was hilarious because I know some ppl just like that lol!! But on the serious side, I am torn on the firearm part tho. I think that having a spare kit or 2 is a great idea for the purpose in question, but on the other hand I also can see the dangers involved too. I think it would have to be done on a case by case basis. If it's family that might sway me more to do so. Then again whose to say if you turn them away with nothing, that might anger them more and definitely insight revenge. Definitely something to think about tho. The thing is, the ppl you give the gear to may or may not know how to use it. So I think that you should probably put some kind of information packet in there or a good survival book or something. I mean it would be a little late to start learning when it all goes up and the learning curve would be horrendous, but they would have to start somewhere. Kinda like the give a man a fish parable. Great video!!
Yes it was great , thought provoking. I was thinking lol what was that shot. Oh no food in the box , could of accidentally gone off . Idiot thought he'd just try it out. , maybe shooting some one , maybe unalived himself. Next scenario comes back pointing it at you demanding food or demanding to be let in and takes over.
The hardest part about SHTF situations is turning away people you know. Friend or distant family. My responsibility is to my immediate family and our pets. Helping is one thing, but taking on full responsibility for someone who never took your advice is another.
Also a fold up mini fan that can also be used to charge your phone. overheating is a big deal. plus a fold up solar panel that you can plug a usbc device into.
Way more generous and elaborate of a package than I would spend or provide for family or friend. Basics. Water, food, Flashlight, fire. Too many items & they would be back for more.
If this shtf scenario plays out, spare bodies will be field labour. They will be serfs working for food and lodgings. You probably dont want to arm your serfs.
that really isn't the mindset if shtf happens. what you're describing is having slaves for labor. you aren't going to last very long, and i hope you don't see yourself as a leader.
I've been a prepper for a long time now. One Xmas, I gifted all my kids, sister & mom their own BOB. Then 2yrs ago for Xmas, I made them all their own EDC pouch. We have a big family & being a prepper is a work in-progress..I constantly remind them the importance of prepping. Like you, I have extras in case any family member needs it, but only to my immediate family. No one else need to know , unless you have something for me in return.
I love the mind set but feel the same as others on the gun issue. Desperate people will do desperate things and Ronnie knowing he will not survive will allow that feeling to fester into hate, especially when hungry after a few days/weeks that you would not really help him and use that gun on you. I hope I would be wrong but I have seen humans in panic do evil deeds too many times. I do have a couple extra guns but it is for a member who say was at work and could not get to their stash before coming to my place due to riots/road blocks. We have tried to plan for this the best we can but in a SHTF things can become real DYNAMIC in a hurry. I have told all my family/friends to get prepared and have been very upfront that we have no room for any more in a SHTF so do not bother showing up! I know that's cold but its reality. Good vid makes ya think but do have one complaint about it and that is the fact Ronnie made it to your front door tells me your security sucks...just saying. LOL
…this is intelligent thinking and planning imo. I know without a doubt you will get some heat about it but it’s my full belief there is a large spectrum of situations we prepare for and not all of them are full blown end of the world, sit on your rice and beans with a rifle scenarios. I now put back some stuff in the event people close to me are in need such as my neighbors who have three little kids. Not the kids fault their parents don’t believe this is important and personally I’m not the kind of man that could watch them starve to death knowing I could do something about it. Yes there could be circumstances where it comes down to your family vs others and tactics would change but it’s a personal decision in many real life emergencies that do happen daily around the world. I checked on and helped elderly peolpe in my neighborhood during the cluster of 2020 that were getting pushed out of the way in stores by turds grabbing last pack of food on shelve and realized the not giving a rats ass about anyone in my circle just isn’t reality for me. First time seeing your channel… outstanding video
This is awesome. Perfect for anyone beginner or advanced with survival skills will deeply appreciate it in a SHTF moment . I know I would if I didn’t have bug out bag or was far from home.
Grate video guys! By the way it’s ‘Going to hell in a Hand Cart’ not ‘Basket! It came from the Bubonic Plague here in Britain when undertakers (morticians) walked around with handcarts saying; “Bring out your dead”. They were then thrown onto the handcarts with the other bodies they had collected and taken away to be burnt to try and keep infection under control. Let’s hope we don’t see that again eh?! Keep up the great work guys.
I like this concept! I have Mylar bags of beans and rice in 5 gallon buckets that I have set aside for use for “refugees”,,, should there be a need. But, I realize I should reconfigure and maybe find some inexpensive cookware ( 2nd hand stores are great ) and maybe even emergency blankets and fire starters. Thank you for the video.
Exactly! Im shocked at how many calloused people there are in the preparedness comunity! Our chances for surviving are far better if we stick together! Thank you for your comment and thankyou for watching!
@@idahoprepper Having a community or group would be nice but they have to share in the preparedness mindset at least to an extent. Also have to find people like that you can trust. That's the issue I'm having. No one I care about puts any concern into this no matter how much I talk to them about it. They do the usual yeah I agree but then nothing. I can't find anyone else even with joining different online groups searching.
How would you define family? All of my immediate family would be welcome. But is my step brothers adopted cousins ex still family? No person outside of the richest .0001% of humans could afford to take care of every person related to them. Maybe you can take care of first cousins. But can you take care of all your second cousins too? All your third cousins twice removed? That adds up quick
Hi, the way you are thinking is honorable. Without a doubt you give him a chance without getting ahead without compromising your loved ones!!! congratulations
@idahoprepper reading the comments someone mentioned maybe a person you give this to (tote) doesn't know all the ends and outs of prepping. like useing a tarp with para cord to build a shelter. maybe just a thought with each tote you could put in some instructions on what to do. use a picture to show a tarp shelter with cord, explain how to use a farel rod. place a bandana over a can/container to filter water. if you have 2 or 3 of these (or more) do an intruction sheet for all or even look in a survival/prep book and copy the pages. just a thought. good vid
I thought about it and being a follower of Jesus Christ we would help other brother and sisters. The problem with helping others is you put a target on your head and show sympathy to others. When things go to hell people’s true colors come out and what really lies in their hearts. For me it’s about bartering with others or providing them with goods for a trade of services. Don’t forget everybody is stronger in numbers and there will people coming to take what’s yours. So having an extra person fighting against the enemy is always a good thing. In the end the only thing that matters is Jesus Christ and for us to know he is always with us and watching over us. Psalm 91🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
If I do anything, it will be items I do not have to pay for like tin can hobo stoves and egg carton starters...things I have already and other people have already but just didn't fit into a bag to run with. I have already given my close family those things along with a purchased emergency kit for their cars just to have on hand. My family is also cagey, so if they were prepping already I wouldn't know it. They know I have limited space and funds by the gifts I have given them. I think a 72 hour kit would be nice to have for someone else who might show up to give me a ride out of an evacuation situation since I don't have transport. It could be my contribution to gas money and something to barter. Maybe I'll just put some home made stoves and starters in little bags along with my excess water bottles etc. At least it's something to give when someone else has absolutely nothing. I also pick things up at garage sales for little to no money that would be useful in an emergency. One thing that comes to mind is plastic shopping bags and produce bags. They roll up small and can be used to bag trash or keep things dry. Plastic emergency ponchos at garage sales along with the things in the free boxes like regular water bottles are a good idea along with a small sewing kit and 1st aid boo boo kit if you don't have money for gear. I guess my point is that it doesn't have to cost much money to prepare with what you already have by just packing it away for easy access. Preparing your brain and arranging your stuff will do the most good, not going to someone else's home looking for help you could have given yourself possibly risking life and limb getting there just to find out they cannot or will not help you. What they have might not be as nice as something you can get for yourself or simply make for yourself ahead of time. My family kind of turned up their noses at my attempts to help with gear even when I bought it for them. I'm done. I would gladly take a ride out of town if I needed one and they offered however, and I would have a car to load all my gear, preps and the cat in as well. If I don't get a ride, no more stuff.
There's an awful lot of people who are awake but have struggled to get enough for themselves and maybe not quite enough. If you can afford it, that's a good gesture.
Replace the shells every 6 months or a year to ensure you aren’t storing duds. Humidity and fluctuations in temperatures can make the slugs perform poorly or a potential malfunction. The way you have them just sitting in a pouch doesn’t protect them for long term storage. Possibly seal the pouch and shells in a vacuum bag and put in a silica pack. That will help them last years. Also remember powder degrades over time. So ammo doesn’t have a 100% indefinite shelf life no matter the storage conditions. Duds are inevitable over long periods of time.
People that don’t prep for are no good to be around. Even if you aren’t prepping for WW3 prep for bad weather conditions, look at how many people died in Texas during that freak snow storm. I’ve been implementing to my family that I would “rather have and not need, than to need and not have” stay safe prep fam and god bless🫡🫡
This is a great idea. Homo sapiens survived because we formed communities for safety, manpower and sharing of knowledge. Wish more people realized the importance of working together in times of crisis. Hoarding and isolating yourself is a very lonely and depressing way to live.

Discussions I have with people about emergency preps usually end in;"I am coming to your house if something ever happens". I don't discuss it anymore.
I consistently have the same and tell each one “you better make sure you call or radio me first.”
i always say...i have a way you are not.
op sec is the most important aspect of being prepared today! silence is golden and duct tape is silver....
My response to that is, "come on over, more protein for the stew pot". That usually confuses and scares them.
Yea they always say that.. even my neighbors. Like it’s some community center.
Preppers often have a lot of old stuff that we probably won't use anymore and that could save someone else's life. You're a good man, and I'm with you.
Very true! I have multiples of old fishing and hunting gear haha

In fairness, he says that the kit is for "That One Person" lol. We all know that one friend or relative. 😮😊
Yeah, he lost me with the shotgun. I actually unsubscribed because of that. Anyone that give weapons away is asking for a possible serious problem.
Why are so many people telling this man what they would replace with something else, or what they would add to all he has already done?!!! If you would or could then HAVE YOU?!! Yeah, people obviously need to prep according to their own needs and wants.
It's called having a conversation
Thank you! I’ve often wondered what a conversation consists of!! I really appreciate you taking the time to clear that up for me. ❤
Your giveaway box is better than what majority of the population has right now
yeah, I know.. Its a sad state of affairs! Thanks for watching!
P.S I believe we all should plan for 10 people we care about to show up
@@painterbw Guess who they will be coming to for Handouts?? YOU!!
Great video, thanks!
Smart 😊
We have a similar group. We meet every 6 weeks, break bread and go over different skills.
Be careful with the lazy people that will just eat your food
If someone says they are just coming to your house, ask them for a list of what they are bringing. That should help put into context what they are suggesting.
Excellent advice! I've gotten this comment more than once, but I can't see myself turning them away.
@@mommiedearest5337 TOUGH LOVE!! They Had been Warned!!
Yep...that's what I say to colleagues and friends. I prepped for my family not the entire community.
Why stress your 8 year old out with prepping?
Great idea. And I am impressed by the amount in that box!!!
You raised him well.
Scared child
You made the right choice with the wool blanket

Nobody gets a gun unless they're with me pulling security of some sort. No way. People will get desperate, and even close "friends" may try something stupid to keep their kids from starving.
Truth….People don’t want to think about it as possible…BUT….!!
I'm working on shotgun ammo.... pumpkin ball.. should be good trading stock.
Same...
Don't even use freedom seeds for barter items much less freedom seed dispensers or any other weapons for that matter.
My neighbors have TEN KIDS!!! I'm very nervous because I have no idea if they prep or not.
I already have a 6 person family. I won't be able to share.
I hope they stay in their lane and do prep....
Same here, we're coming to your place. So I don't discuss it with them anymore. I just keep getting what I can. Get ready it's coming. God Bless
Ask them what have they done to protect their family.
If there was such a thing as god you would not need to prepare for this so called happening..

Romans 10:8-13
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Give them a list of things to bring.
Great idea, and putting in some food , even if it's a few tins of baked beans .
I have been giving all my children and grandchildren survival food for Christmas. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸%
Every year I do something slong those lines with my parents, my kids' grandparents, and my girlfriend's parents. It might be a bucket or two of LTS food, major water purification (I bought berkies a couple years back) etc. It's the least I can do IMO. Thankfully, my mom is no longer resisting and even put a little more back
Maybe give them a survival back pack.
Good idea you have gifting these things. Do they know any self defence? Rope tying ?
It's a nice kit for anyone. Thank for sharing not only the kit but your compassion. We made a 72 hour emergency kit that includes most of the items you showed for a couple who struggles to pay condo fees and panhandles. They said they put it on a top shelf as a "just in case". They now have a way to make some hot meals and beverages and can stay warm and nourished if the power goes out. It took a long time to find items that we could include that were decent quality but affordable. It's doable.
That is very kind and caring of you. Thank you for being here!

I like that idea, that way it can get to people in need without exposing you & yours to unnecessary danger or confrontation & without others knowing where those supplies came from.
If you are doing something like this to help the community, I might suggest adding feminine hygiene products. Those can often get overlooked
Smart 😊
Lithium ion batteries don't corrode..
@@gregmcgill2396hmmm….good to know that. Thank you!
@@gregmcgill2396no they can explode
I will give a kit like you’ve shown to each of my grandkids when in my opinion they are mature enough. No firearm though, that’s their parents responsibility. I’ve told my local relatives that could possibly get to my place that they better bring every ounce of food they can fit in their vehicle or we’ll just starve faster if it’s a longer term issue. I’m retired so I can’t afford to prep for everybody.
Great advice
You are a great person for helping someone out with a great box of gear 👍
Thank you! And thank you for watching!
That box makes an excellent gift.
Yes, great idea! I made a bug out bag for my brother in law years ago, definitely a great gift idea too! Thanks!
This is so thoughtful and amazing idea. I have a suggestion for the blanket vs. box-put everything in a backpack.
You know, he talked about that.
When it does hit the fan those who can not turn off emotions will have a major problem.
I could see putting one together for a kid who's going off to university. Like a 72-hr kit in case something happens while they're away from home.
Great idea!
It's actually a great idea! Give them a good lecture, show them how things are used, what to do on scenarios...get them physically, emotionally & mentally prepared...for anything, at anytime!
You are to kind. People will come back. Good luck.
Maybe… if so, They can help out. At the end of the day.. it’s all just speculation! Thanks for watching!
I flip-flop on whether to hand out the small hygiene packs I have made. People do come back.
@@PeterLawton empty might put the cars out of action

I clicked on this video literally thinking you were to slam the door in their face and threaten their lives if they didn’t leave. However, to see your level of compassion taught me a lot. 1.-be prepared yourself but you can still have compassion and help where you can. Very nice man. I appreciate you
The more you help the grasshoppers, the closer you and your family of ants gets to their own demise.
Salt would be a great addition that doesn’t take much space - loved the video !

Anyway, I've told people that if you come to me looking for help I will put you to work in the garden, or splitting wood, or digging a well or an outhouse. If it becomes long term, you will be a serf, a medieval peasant working for the lord of the manor, you children will have the same fate.
I've been asked, "are you serious?"
my reply, "If it is a matter of life and death, that's pretty serious." then I've added "If you think there is a chance this may happen, perhaps you should examine alternatives in your own life."
Not a Medieval peasant 😂😂😂

I told em get bent i prepped for my family in my house. And told them how to get prepped and they didnt listen.. this was my mom sister brother in law and neice and nephew..

None of my friends nor family care like this. They throw away most of my stuff away also.
That means there will be huge mobs of desperate people
Bad idea,
1. They know you got supplies
2. You gave them supplies
3. When they're desperate they'll come back for more
4. When you refuse to give them supplies again they wont be your friend anymore
5. That gun you gave them might just be the death of you
Morality only exists for as long as people aren't desperate and remain civil, but when you watch your family starving to death, drips of water being rationed out, people we are friends with will kill to provide for their family's even if it means killing you and your whole family in the process, thats why I say be stern and tell them to go away and or you will put a bullet in them, dont think of them as your friend anymore because they could come back days later and be the reason why you and your family die.
No one gets in without bringing something of value or a skill that may be useful at some point. No exceptions.
This is a great idea. I can see giving these away for a gift to get someone started prepping.
You have heart of gold God bless you
you could vacuum seal the blanket and backpack to fit them both in. also how bout a collapsible fishing pole?
Extra family guests = extra hands for WORK & DEFENSE.
Very true! Thanks for watching!
The hardest part about SHTF situations is turning away people you know. Friend or distant family. My responsibility is to my immediate family and our pets.
Helping is one thing, but taking on full responsibility for someone who never took your advice is another.
Most of my friends and family do not care for this. They throw most of my stuff concerning this matter away also.
Great idea for your old stuff when you upgrade eventually.
Lot more than expected. I would have included a backpack
You have a kind heart. It will be hard to send people away.
Also a fold up mini fan that can also be used to charge your phone. overheating is a big deal.
plus a fold up solar panel that you can plug a usbc device into.

That's pretty comprehensive and plenty to get started. Perhaps a survival book or two would be handy too.
Don't open door. Put a sign up for tresspassing. Stay armed.
Good Advice! Thanks for watching!
The kit can defuse a tense or violent situation, but nobody gets a gun. It WILL be turned against you, later.
LOL
They'd come back for sure because there was no food in the box.

This is a good idea Joe! Thanks
Perfect timing I am currently putting together a hurricane storm kit. You have given me several extra ideas thank you
You are very generous sir
Cool Vid! Good to see someone not trying to talk politricks! Prep on.
It was perfect man, great job 👏
You included a lot of good stuff in your kit. Thanks for sharing with us. God Bless 🙏
Thank you! Thanks for watching! God bless!
Just for the intro that got me to subscribe 😂
Bet you're rethinking those tractor Supply buckets now
Years ago I gave our kids a mess kit and a pup tent. They later realized it was a start.
Love the beginning! 😂 All too true. New subscriber. 🙋🏻♀️
If you have cordage and a blanket, you can make a horseshoe pack to carry items that are not too bulky. No need for a bag.
good job on the kit
I’m using this as a birthday/Christmas gift idea (minus the gun 😂).
This is a great idea. Homo sapiens survived because we formed communities for safety, manpower and sharing of knowledge. Wish more people realized the importance of working together in times of crisis. Hoarding and isolating yourself is a very lonely and depressing way to live.
I agree 100% Thank you for watching!
