Thank you canon for putting this camera in the hands of real professionals who will talk about its photography handling instead of a bunch of youtubers who'd only gripe about video specs
I'm a Nikon action sports photographer from Northern Europe and this Canon seems to put new Nikon D6 and Sony A9mark 2 in the shade. May switch to Canon. Also the camouflage jacket under the bridge who is the manufacturer.
We all know that it's fast and that has a great and reliable autofocus system. Not hating or anything but basically this video is simply repeating what the spec sheet says.. I would have loved to see how the tracking actually works or how you feel about in direct comparison to the R that you used before (other than the obvious size difference). :)
Hi Basti, thanks for your feedback. You are right, I could have gone more into details. Problem was that I had a very limited time to work with the camera and basically just had these two setups to test the new cam. I am not a typical "Reviewer" or "Tester". So this is more like a "first impression" and "behind the scenes" video than an actual review. There are others that can do these reviews better than me :)
Well Martin did actually shoot real life situations, in somewhat challenging conditions. I personally prefer that to some focus tests or something... Bit worrying that some shots under the bridge were still off though, even in 'mirrorless' mode. From experience that's what I'd expect from my 1Dx II anyway. You said ISO 20000 was okay, is that okay/usable or okay/pretty good? 🙂
@@tomalapevides ISO 20000 was very usable. All in all it's a great camera for low light. Personally, I rather push ISO up and get sharp images than compromise on grain and then get blurred athletes.
@@martinbissig Wow, that's great to hear that it produces usable images at 20K. On the 1DXII I never go upwards of 12800. So excited for this one!! Thanks for the work you put in!
I never saw someone using a big prime lens like a 400mm 2.8 in Live View Mode. That looks already weird with a 70-200mm 2.8. Thats in my opinion nonsense. But when not using Live View then the the 1DX Mark III is just a marginal update to the 1DX Mark II. No, thank you. I wait on the professional mirrorless from Canon.

And here I am using a 1dx mark III centerpoint focus/oneshot mode lol.
I still use a Canon 1d mark ii (2004), i love it so much
Interesting to see how different people use the camera in sports action environment
Excellent Review, Thank you
Eos 1dx3 number one I love
Masterpiece. 20 frames per second... A God's Eye.^^
8 frames per second of Canon 1d mark ii pretty much enough for me
@@ignatprokhoropchyuck4652 Yes i understand! Like me with the Canon EOS R. In the 6D Mark II i wish a little more. ^^
@@risingrato thanks for understanding)

could you explain how the head focus works? like is it ai servo mode or do u just set a focal point and the camera does the rest?

You filmed a part of the review in Lenzburg in Switzerland. Are you from there?
I am from Zug....
uh you were at my favorite mountain 🙈
1/57 sek / focus is not correct !!! Why show a defective frame?
The focus is spot on if watched in 100%, trust me :)
