Wow sooo looking forward to this body!! Fun to see that you guys take your time with pro bodies but when they hit the light of day they're rock solid and perform!
Near I was actually surprised at how well priced it is. Without even accounting for inflation it’s still hundreds less than the 1dxii launched at and is a substantial upgrade.
Yeah, the cinematography - and the still shots - in this were fantastic. It's so cool to see amazing artists who truly squeeze the most out of their equipment. Such a great film.
@@Magneira Canon is all about performance and experience. And this dude explained what he does and how Canon makes it possible, rather than comparing di.. specs with every other brand and camera sitting all day in the office chair.
I've never seen such wonderful thing in my whole life. It feels like I'm under the ocean. Great captures and amazing video. Cannot afford to buy this camera but still happy to see these amazing stuffs done by the professionals ❤ Love from Asia 🇧🇩
I still have my Canon 1D mark IV and I am proud of it, but this new camera is an incredible evolution. I also take pictures in the water and Ben is my reference, my dream would be to go to Tahiti and learn from him. I think I will never change brands. Very very very good and inspirable video!!
Dear Canon, Please make more and more videos like this - giving your exceptional tools to "real Pros" who know what they are doing....rather than giving your cameras to some random youtubers who are not even a photographers/videographers in the first place.
Feels like a BBC production. Just incredible! The story, the pictures and the film all come together in great harmony. I am convinced. I will try to buy this camera as it would improve my work quality dramatically coming from a 5D mk 3. Awesome job, Canon! I'm glad I stuck with you! 🙂
Really well put, especially the explanations part, it really lets you understand the wealth of the moment and what the "fast" gear really means its not the 20fps its the ability to use that at the moment you barely had a thought of pressing the button... Lag free... that`s the point of great tools...
Such a beast of a camera! Definitely looking to get one as soon as possible. Only complaint about this video is why wasn’t it uploaded in 4K? We wanna see that crisp full frame footage!
Hi Andrew, this video was actually uploaded in 4K. You can change the video quality by clicking the wheel in the player. (A good reason to watch it again in 4K though! ;-) )
Great story telling ! When you, sometimes, have hard time discerning the line between commercial and documentary. Hope we'll see something as good for the C500 II (Sorry the Hans brothers tale is not in the same league as this one) ?
Inspiring video. I'd love to be as skilled as this guy. Both the photographer and the surfer. I'll start saving for one... Might be able to before you get to the MK6 lol
I’m looking forward to saving up for this and purchasing a couple lenses. This past year has been rough on me, and had to sell my 5D Mk iii, 7D Mk ii, and my C100 Mk ii due to financial constraints. I also had to sell all my lenses. Hoping this year to be back to shooting.
Incredible company! I hope they continue improving their cameras. My first point-and-shoot camera was a Canon (back in 1989 in High School!) and Ive owned 3 cameras, one video camera and many other accessories (ALL Canon!). I've never been disappointed by them. One time, I had a camera that had a tiny problem but was 5 years old. I wrote to them and asked them how much it'd be to repair since I was willing to pay. They told me to send them my camera. One month later I got it back fixed and they charged me nothing!!! From that day one I told myself..."Canon...you just gained a customer for life! This year I'll get me a new DSLR....Guess what brand I'll buy?!?!... ;-)
From what we've learned about surfing from this wonderful experience with Ben Thouard, is that it's all about patience and waiting for the right moment. :)
As a sony alpha camera user I am excited for the competition cannon brings with this camera! I am truly impressed by not just this camera and its specs but by the film itself! Can not wait to see what cannon does with their mirrorless line up to match this camera! I wouldn't object to a switch if the specs matched this in the mirrorless body

Beautiful work. I'd love to do some surfing photography myself, and I may buy this camera sometime this year. But I don't think I'd be willing to risk the chance of wrecking everything in salt water.
Buy your gear with insurance. You can get it covered for water damage for pretty cheap. Plus get a good water Housing. Ben is Using an AquaTech which is top of the line. Once you get in the water with your camera you will be addicted.
Ben used underwater housing by Aquatech Imaging Solutions. Housing fit will vary by make and model, so please check with the manufacturer of the housing :)

Imagine doing this job instead of sitting inside an office from 9 to 5 :)
Sanddesert filming and shooting surfers is cool. But surfing is way cooler !
Next level: Imagine to do what you love as job, instead of doing what you have to do, to pay your bills.
It’s definitely not as easy or fun as it looks.
