Last Epoch Developers: "I heard you like skill trees, so I put skill trees inside your skills." Jokes aside, the skill tree in POE2 is great. I like a lot the fact that most atribute-boosting nodes can let you choose which one you want to increase. That allows for a lot of atypical builds.

@@primary2630 Forests don't have to directly network to function as forests. Each point of light in the PoE(2) skills system doesn't only represent a skill or attribute, but a cumulative pathway made up of a network of skills chosen as prerequisites, but for the first in the journey. It is a tangled mess...but is still causality, ever-traceable to its source without fail.
Her calling it a skill universe is fitting as I was just thinking that it looks like stars in the sky when she zoomed out. Glad to see PoE2 is keeping up with the absurd skill tree.

For those that don't know, they add stuff every update//expansion. POE1 had the same skill tree, then added an ascension page once you beat the game, then added a god power page which got stronger with each god boss you beat, etc, etc
One thing that a lot of new people don't realize is, that it's the skill tree for _every_ class on one page. If it's anything like PoE 1, almost every character is going to only really pay attention to at most 1/4 of that mess and over 1/2 of it is going to be incremental filler points that screw you over 2-30 levels later when you realized you didn't take _enough_ of the right filler nodes.
Best part of PoE 2's tree is that all the attribute nodes can be any attribute you like. You'll never get screwed by attributes again... well, until you do
To also add to “kit”’s message all nodes are respecable with just a small gold cost if you choose the wrong stat or need to say change it so you can equip a different set of gear down the line.
@@PurpleCyanideTube From what I've been reading, that 'small' gold cost can spiral pretty fast at the later levels. This is better described as a "Skill Roots". Aside from how it's similar in design, it also only provides passives, as in where the tree gets nutrients from, making your castable skills stronger.
It takes a few levels to even make it to the first notable, you don't need to understand the whole tree from the start. And the first few notables at the beginning of each character's trees are generalist notables that will be good for most builds with that character, so you don't need to figure out exactly what you want right away.
Just filter for "Minion" if you're doing minion build. And go get the nodes that seem good. Go pure damage for the first 2 acts, then you see how you feel and may decide to spec into something more defensive.

I will never understand why people always make the PoE skill tree seem very complex when its very easy to understand. You can filter things out and you pretty much just pick whatever you like as you go along. And as you go along, you'll find bits the synergize well with other attributes and you just go from there.
The main issue with this skill tree is that while it is easy when you break it down, you still have to be aware of what you are roughly going for in the long run or your character will most likely be screwed over at some point. This in turn means reading what a lot of the nodes do so that you can see what you want to aim for, which is not something most people are going to do, or even are willing to do. This skill tree favors those that already have experience with the game and those that are willing to sit down, read and plan for some kind of build before actually playing, while people that "figure it out while going" are most likely going to have a bad time.
