    This is one of the easiest caddy videos I've seen so far.. I'm a beginner at sewing..
    I'm going to try to make one for my dad on his upcoming 60th birthday. Special handmade gift would be nice on this milestone.. hope I'll be able to make it nice n he likes it too🙂

    Great video; I watched a few times, stopping to make notes then put them in a document to check my work. On the top pocket I made several narrow pockets for pens that populate on the end table (like dust bunnies in a corner). The caddy purchased at Ikea uses a short, heavy rod to tuck deep between cushion and arm and a loop fold at the bottom, paperback books size.

    Thank you! Great project for a rainy afternoon. Made if for my mom. It's perfect! And I used scraps left over from other projects! Thank you!

    What about the weight of all the gadgets in the pockets, how did you anchor the holder on the sofa or chair please. My choirs are recliner so I don’t have a cushion to put it under, if that’s what you did.
    Thank you for doing it on RUclips I will have to keep stopping as I’m not a confident sewer on a machine but I will give it ago with couple of pockets. The speed of the video was fast but I think Iv got the idea, nice video. I just have to try and get my lines straight then that’s half the battle won

      If not able to tuck it under a seat cushion I would sew a pocket on the other end and fill it with rice or lentils. Wish they would show some usage ideas at the end of these videos...

    I see you're using a thicker, almost canvas like fabric, would you suggest putting a stabilizer on any of the fabric if you were using a regular cotton fabric to give it some thickness?

    • @EasyToSew
      @EasyToSew  5 лет назад +2

      angsmi33 : i'm not sure the type of the fabric. It's like duck cotton. For me if it's regular cotton i would use interfacing for the thickness. Thank you for watching!

    I have yet to find a tutorial which demonstrates how the caddy fits over the armchair, and in particular, how it stays put without moving. Does the excess which goes on the inside get tucked under a seat cushion or something? Because it seems like loading the pockets would become pretty heavy on one side.

    • @EasyToSew
      @EasyToSew  5 лет назад +1

      tina thompson : Yes the excess goes on the inside get tucked under a seat cushion and you sit on it. Yes it's look heavy on one side but it's fine. Thank you.

      I made mine a little longer then folded over the top end and put in a metal pole and tucked that into the gap down the side of the sofa. Works a treat.

    Is it really that common to have a serger at home? Every American sewing tutorials are more or less mentioning a serger. xD meanwhile here in Europe we just sew a zigzag stitch all around 😅 ... the serger seems to save a lot of time tho ☺️
