You are such a positive influence in the music community and I'm sure you have inspired many people to start playing guitar and music in general. You definitely inspired me to start playing guitar. We truly need more people like you in the world. Thank you so much for your continued hard work and God bless!
Those in the audience who are too young to remember, the song is a soulful recount of “The Troubles” where Northern Ireland tore itself apart in a civil war that lasted from 1914-1997. Thousands were killed for political and religious fighting. The late Dolores O'Riordan sang it perfectly. The world lost a gem when she died in 2018.
i am on day 2 with a Gretsch guitar - never played a day in my life. I have been searching RUclips for the most BEGINNER guitar info and help and BY FAR you have helped me have FUN, which is better than learning anything early on. If its not fun, you won't stick with it. Thanks to you and Paul Davids for your amazing talent and helpful info.
Wow, thank you for putting me and Paul Davids in the same sentence! 😂 I'm really glad you're having fun with my videos because I totally agree - if it's not fun, a lot of people find it not worth trying! 🙅🏻♀️ So I hope you'll continue to learn beginner-friendly songs with me on my channel and thank you for watching! 💕
Got a guitar for Christmas and haven’t touched it since, because with every tutorial I had watched I could never do something right. However, your tutorials have helped a lot! The most easiest I’ve ever learned something! Everytime i go to touch my guitar i immediately come to your page for these videos! Your careful guidance is really making me motivated:)
Aww thank you so much for leaving me such a sweet comment to read! 🥰 I'm so glad I'm able to encourage you to practice more and I'm really happy to hear you've found success with my teaching style! 🙌 I hope I can continue to make it fun and help you grow your skills. 💕
This is another delight to break up my practice time of learning basic skills. I had to take almost a week off for a backpacking trip. Truth be known, I had a little anxiety about being away from my guitar, after just beginning. I started to work with this song after my last formal lesson, and it loomed in my head over the many miles my friend and I trekked. As a side note, my friend had been in a band for years, and after awhile, put his guitar down. Prior to our trip, I told him about taking lessons/ laughing about my finger tips aching in the beginning etc. When we began our trip, he told me he dusted off his guitar and began playing again after hearing me talk about taking lessons. During the trip, we ran into some foul weather, and kinda confessed to one another what we looked forward to when we got home (hot shower, warm & unhealthy food, sleep), but we both agreed on playing guitar. We spoke a lot about playing during meals, mostly me listening to his journey. I did tell him about your videos and how they showed me I could do this. My friend said he began playing again, because he was impressed with my desire to learn. So, that same energy brought another soul back to playing and continuing this journey. You’re touching a lot of people. If I can do this at 56 and my friend can pick his guitar back up (he’s in his mid 50s too) so can others! Praise God for your wonderful gift… Please keep sharing it! Chris H
Hi Chris, thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such a sweet comment to read! 🥰 I'm so glad I could help get you started on your journey and really appreciate you coming back to learn other songs with me as well. 🤗 I think it's awesome that you have a friend who's just as motivated as you are to pick the guitar back up and I want to thank you for bringing up my videos in your conversation - what a cool story to read! 💕 I have no doubt you both will be jamming together and having lots of fun in no time! 🎸🎶
I am about 2 and a half years into playing. I've been practising pretty well everyday for about 2 hours.Barre chords etc are ok; not perfect but ok. I had hit a bit of a wall and was getting bored as I couldn't find anything to inspire me. Your videos have done that!! Your strumming tutorials are the best I have seen. Thankyou 🙏
Aww thank you so much for the sweet comment! 🥰 I'm so glad my videos were able to re-motivate you and give you a better understanding of strumming rhythms. 🙌 Thanks for watching my videos and supporting my channel! 🫶
Really really appreciate you, not gana lie for somone who has not touched any instrument before I learned this like 2 days. Not perfect tho but I’ll keep practicing. Keep up the good work 💪🏽
Volume was likely around 8/10 and tone knob was all the way up. Also the play along was using the bridge pickup. 👍 I hope that helps and thanks for watching! 🤗
It’s actually Em, Cmaj7, G6, (d/f# top thick E string 2nd fret) with a strumming pattern of: DDDDUUD UDU. That same strumming pattern goes for each chord you play.
Please do Linger by the Cranberries 😭 nobody else explain strumming patterns as good as you & I’m having a hard time following the other tutorials out there.
I can transition from Em to Cmaj7 really well, I can also transition from G to D/F# pretty good, I've pretty much got the strumming down pat. For the life of me, I CAN NOT go from Cmaj7 to the G chord!!! its adding the ring and pinky finger I always have to stop and look, and if I don't, my pinky just will not cooperate!!! Anyone have any tips on how to improve? I picked up a guitar for the first time like 3 weeks ago, I am improving leaps and bounds by practicing for anywhere between 15 minutes minimum or more if I have time everyday, but that is the only thing I simply can not pick up for some reason, is just adding the 2 finger!!
Would love to cover that one! 🙌 I'll have to add it to my Patreon poll next month and see how people vote! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching! 💕
Hey! Sorry I forgot to link those but here they are! (You need to download the Spark app first) Lead Guitar: spark.app.positivegrid.com/preset/rdBSgr1fNt4BbiKBA Intro Guitar: spark.app.positivegrid.com/preset/SZAuLUGtBPg2qDEY8 Hope that helps and have fun! 🎸🎶
Some do, but basically because they have electronics built into them, you plug them into an amp to make the sound travel so people can hear it. With acoustics, the sound hole is what allows the resonating notes to come out of the body of the guitar and that's what makes it sound. 👍 Electrics don't usually have sound holes because they don't need them. (There are also hollow body electric guitars that can be played without an amp because they have smaller "f" holes that allow the sound to come out of the guitar.)
Want to vote for the next tutorial? 🤔 Then check out my Patreon page here! www.patreon.com/for3v3rfaithful And thanks for watching 🥰

Oooh yay I was singing this song non stop last month, it’s meant to be that you made a tutorial! Thank you Ellen!
Love the colour of that guitar.💙
Thanks! Me too 😍
Glad you’re feeling better!
Em -> Cmaj7 -> G6 -> D6 9 sus4/F# would be the more genuine chords. It's even more "beginner-friendly". Cheers!
Astonishing and realistic
The amount of effort you put into your videos 🤘🏻
The LP sounds great through that little amp! More Cranberries, please. I miss Dolores.
I still can’t believe how good the amp sounds for being so tiny! 😂
This was best zombie teacher
Thank you for the tutorial! My son loves this song.
So glad I could teach it then! 🤗 Thanks for watching! 💕
This is such a great song!

That's so awesome! 🎉 Congrats on getting this down so quickly, and thanks for using my tutorial to learn it! 🥰
THANK YOU !!! where did you set your volume and tone knobs and whichj pickup did you use :)
Volume was likely around 8/10 and tone knob was all the way up. Also the play along was using the bridge pickup. 👍 I hope that helps and thanks for watching! 🤗
Thank you very much for all the lessons you put out, truly. Very awesome teaching and material.
You rock. =)
Aww thank you so much for watching them and learning with me! 🥰 I’m glad you find them helpful. 🎸🎶
Technically, the D/F# is Dsus4/F# since it has a G note (D=1, E=2, F#=3, G=4).
Thank you always ellen❤
Great lesson.
Guys if these chords r hard for y’all I think u can just use: Em C G D
with the strumming pattern as: D UDUD D
It’s actually Em, Cmaj7, G6, (d/f# top thick E string 2nd fret) with a strumming pattern of: DDDDUUD UDU. That same strumming pattern goes for each chord you play.
Omg I was thinking about this song and you cane up with this video that's a lot
