- Harvest 2018 rolls on...for the most part. Today we had a belt break on our John Deere 9870. The soybeans are wetter than we would like.

I do not own a farm, I know nothing about farming, I never plan on farming....... But for some reason I watch every single one of these videos and it is so entertaining!!
SAME BOAT DUDE! I've gardened, but this city boy aint no farmer.....but I can't stop watching this!
Me too I live in the country but I’ve never farmed
CrounseBro Squad I live in the country to.
I am playing Farming Simulator 2017, I am a bit in farming 😎
Matt Barnett. The reason and answer to your lack of understanding as to why you view these videos, are due to the information you give in the beginning of your comment.
I never thought I'd see the day that Zach was skipping and grinning like a little schoolgirl... Especially not at 3a.m.!!! You're a hard working dude, and that's a fact! Rock on, Millennial!! 🤘
Oh shut the fuck up
When I was a kid I lived on a huge wheat farm in northern Oklahoma.I miss seeing the harvest and tractors working the fields. I go to sleep watching you work on the farm. Makes me sleep like a baby.
LOVE HOW YOU STAY SO HAPPY AND OPTIMISTIC, GOT TO BE PART OF BEING A FARMER, LOVE OUR FARMERS!!!!!!!
its been awesome to follow this years harvest and have daily videos, im sure its a bit of a hassle for you guys in a way but your viewers have been loving it i know i have.
I am learning so much about farming. I wish I was a school teacher and show these in class.
Beautiful view of combining beans in the twilight. Thanks!
Nothing I love more than farming all day, then coming home and watching some other guy farm all day.
Best show on TV. My boys, wife and I look forward to each of your videos. Thanks from Packer land.
When the going gets tough ,the tough kicks ass and keeps it all going!! Great job Zack and family and workers!!
We combined about 40 acres of beans today. They were around 15%. The ground was actually pretty good. We were evan able to load the trucks in the field. I hope you guys are able to find some dry beans. Weather sounds nice though. They're saying mid 60's on Thursday. Thanks for the video
You know somebody loves you when they bring you Jimmy Johns
Funny how you were skipping like a happy camper 😂🤣
Good content as always.
To get that cob out of the sample, open the bottom sieve completely open (straight up) and adjust the top sieve until the sample is clean (with whatever fan speed is necessary). That allows the air to get up through the sieves and cleans the sample. I know your corn is higher moisture than you would like and it may not be an option to slow the rotor and/or open the concaves, but that will keep from breaking the cob up into small pieces.
Listen to this man.
I would agree
This year we ran our bottom sieve wide open, and shut our top sieve to about 3/8's or so. it worked great in corn! Also adjusting the rotor speed and concave is important (to not shred up cobs)
Thanks for taking me along!
Watching your videos is like watching tv. You seem to get the good angles and the camera is still. You must be a natural!
Im impressed yall keep all your shields... first year we run one we take about all the shields off.
Love this time of year when one puts in 30-37 hrs. non stop. That will decide the men from the boys. Shows character and produces a love of the land.
3 am? The middle of my day. 12 hour over night shift gets old pretty quick.
Seems like yesterday there were 50k subs. 130k now? You're doing the right things and I'm here for it!
Yep. Me toooooo
It's pretty crazy!
@@MillennialFarmer good things come to good people 👍👍 You rock Sir ✌️✌️

with my little John Deere 3300 85hp diesel I just don't have the hp to bring in high moisture beans. this leaves me with no choice but to wait for 13% or below. wet flexible bean stalks just won't go through the concave. and then there is the mill dockage for high moisture beans making me wish I'd waited. huge difference in our farming considerations due to our extremely different climates. Minnesota and North Carolina are like two different worlds this time of the year. thanks for taking us along on your harvest.
I'm in the grain business and we really appreciate guys who DON"T bring in wet beans. Look at the forecast, they'll dry out. If you farm so damn much ground you have to grind out wet ones, maybe you have too much.
I have a 4400 and the same problem
@@lfeco yeah that's like, your opinion, man. Hah.
No but I found your comment funny, no harm intended.
Youve become my favorite farmer to watch on YT.
I remember when all fields looked like that when everyone farmed on the shares. Haul the customers to the elevator in town haul ours to the scales and then grain bins. So you would see fields all over will 12 rows standing 12 rows shelled. At that time most grain heads were 6 row. Great content as always 👍
Dear Sack, There are two really funny things you do, One is the mouse “Are you all right”, and the other is you “skipping along like a little girl”👧. Sack, I would love to live where you do and work the farm as you do. Thanks for making my day, every day. John
For the love off me I can't see why anyone would give a thumbs down. Good content, editing, and informative but mostly Zach seams like a top bloke, I will shout you a beer anytime you are in Queensland, Australia, thanks mate.
I can't believe your weather. We have been running in the 70s and 80s here in western Washington state this fall.
I auctually work in a john deere combine shop here in idaho and while i was watching your video i was auctually right in the middle of changing a cleaning fan belt ,and clean grain auger belt.
Tyler Hughes where in Idaho? I’m in Teton valley.
Why are those belts breaking ? What do they drive ? Is there a slip clutch ? Is there a shaft speed sensor to tell the operator that something is amiss ?
@@jaromjenkins1834 In American Falls. Stotz Equipment.
@@SomeTechGuy666 cleaning fan belt drives between variable drives that increase and decrease the speed of the cleaning fan which basically just blows air through the chaffer and seive elements to remove the seed from the stalk. The clean grain auger belt drives the elevator that tajes the seperated "clean" grain seeds up into the grain tank. Somethimes the belts just wear out and breaks. sometimes something plugs up or doesn't adjust corectly and slips and the belt smokes antil it hust breaks. There are a few things in the cab controll that will tell you if something isnt right.
Never once broke a cleaning fan belt on a AF or TR. No excuse for it on a JD.
Wish more people could be that chippy at 3am here at the elevator ...it's like a farmazombie around here 😳😂✌ God bless stay safe 🚜🇺🇸🚜🇺🇸🚜
i love your videos watch them every day after school and on the weekends
I really like the style and flow of your videos. Becky does a great job editing
The forecast for October was colder than normal but the forecast for November is warmer than normal.
You Tube was down for awhile, was going crazy because I love the daily videos
Love the vids man, keep up the great work and hope y’all finish harvest well! God bless
Hope you get your beans out, before more bad weather ! Stay safe.
That goofy skip/jog thing you do makes me laugh so much every time. Love your channel.
So much to this grain farming. Your dad did all this without the technical info. How much does he appreciate knowing he did so much with out the info. Must be gratifying. Must make it easier 😳😳😳with that info. I bet you use his tech info more. Thanks truly enjoying this.
6:30 oh that engine sound. I love it! Kreygasm
Thank you for all your hard work brother. Stay safe. Peace.
Love the “Linder Farm Network”! Thanks for the awesome content. -Farmer in Redwood Falls, MN
We finally got going today after 4 weeks of rain and snow. the wheat was testing 18% at 11 am when we started and was at 16% in the early evening the weather looks great for southern Saskatchewan for the next week or so! Time to GIVER!!😎
Hurry up and wait situation.
Hopefully you get your crops in before the weather gets to bad.
God bless.
Don't worry what other farmers think of your fields. I think it is great that you tested 2 different varieties in the same field like that.
We had the same belt break on our 9670 today! Fixed it and finished the last of the corn anyway!
WTH ? What does that belt drive ?
It drives the cleaning shoe and cleaning fan
You guys have Deere everything... And I love it
I have learned from this channel that farming is 50% fixing things that break more often than it seems they should.
I love your humor!! I can't wait for the next one!
Thursday is looking like a good day, then going to crap after that again. That snow over night was ice up in Crosslake.
Here's hoping the beans cooperate in a timely manner for you. Been very wet too down here around Des Moines and Ft. Dodge. Several fields haven't even been touched yet.
Thanks again for the great content. Been watching all your videos from the very beginning over the last few weeks, finally caught up. Really enjoy your straight up, this is how it is style and character. And as a bonus, I do understand your humor, even in text form!!
I delivered a couple of cultivators to Midwest back in January and February of this year. Good folks up there. Very friendly to work with and quick to off load a flat bed! (I'm sure the temperature had nothing to do with it...)
Keep the videos coming, and here's hoping for a safe, plentiful, and happy harvest the rest of the season for you!
#ForPetesSakeBeck
Haha
Almost 1,000 new subs since yesterday, nice job buddy, keep up the awesome job. Love your videos.
Good luck guys hopefully we all get some decent weather to get field work done 🤞
You should take a look at link belts they make great temporary fixes or even long-term fixes. Great thing to keep on a service truck.
I continue to have beautiful harvest weather you you guys for the next 9 days. Happy harvest bro !!!!
Great camera shots in this video, especially after sunset. Well done
Much like alberta in canada the weather is all Wes changing
Combines sure have come a long way. We used a Massey 510, and Deere 7700. long time ago.
Joffee from SacconeJolys said he loves your vlogs. Had to come check it out lol 😊
Hopefully that warmer weather this weekend will help!
People watching Star Wars for the first time: "That's so stupid, there's no way R2D2 could communicate intelligibly through beeps and boops!"
9:40 : Zach, combining 50 years later... 😂
Strange. We had similar issues with the same shields off and plugging problem yesterday. Our main difference was flat corn. We had a tornado go through and broke off a lot of patches of corn 4-6" high. And broken corn doesn't stand up with the snoots😤. Wonderful reports. Farmers can say, "Been there. Done that." City friends can learn and understand why there's a truck and cart blocking the road.
Hey Zach. Could you show more of the bushels per acer and all the other stuff like that. Yalls corn looks fantastic compared to us alabama farmers. Love the videos man.
Love your videos. Very educational. Not a farmer myself. I have a 50 mile commute to work through he country. As I look at the fields being harvested I wondered why I would see certain rows being left behind. Now I know.
The rows you're seeing left are probably there for an insurance adjuster to inspect
Zack, I am surprised your corn cobs are broken apart so much. Must be our longer season climate that keeps our cobs in one piece out on the High Plains. Most varieties we use have smaller cobs.
Awesome work makes me wanna be a full time farmer!!!
My corn I Pa 23 -25 percent. Soybeans no where ready. Glad to see you got combine up and going quickly. Good job
Sorry the harvest is turning into a nightmare....opening a lot of eyes to the constant struggle and juggling to make this happen. Wish you the best, stay safe and thanks for the great videos.
Hope weather holds out for you and no more belts snapping all the best with it.
We have the same problem down here in Kentucky. Beans ready and green in the same row. Our plus side is corn is done.
You are my motivation for my farm bussiness in the game Farming Simulator 2017
Anyone else learn a lot from these videos????
Mother Nature can really be challenging, and when your living depends on the weather it can be a big gamble. My Daddy was in asphalt paving business, in the late sixties and during the seventies, and there was no work when it rained and winter time wasn't any better because the asphalt plant couldn't run if the temps were to cold.
I've been wanting to start a farm here in texas and you gave me some more good ideas. Keep up the good work man and I hope the cold is better than the 4 day rain then 6 hours heat and then back to cold rain and back again to a sunny hot day!🤣
Also... need more workers?🤔
We had snow on Sunday. The problem some of the farmers are having now with their beans is that the bean is growing inside the pod.
Nice use of the right, rear indicator/ turn signal light!
Awesome video Zak hope u get the dry weather u need, keep up the good work
Good shit bro best farming channel on RUclips
I couldn't see it.. but it sounded like your neighbors run a Gleaner.. that sweet sweet Cummins sound
I broke the exact same belt on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. We had an early freeze this past weekend and are waiting on it to dry out after the hurricane remnants to start cotton harvest. Good luck to you.
King Cotton.
Ooh my brother started a big farming industry and he had a case quad track and he snapped the track
Don’t feel bad Zach I broke same belt in my 9770... I missed it when going thru it
It isn't harvest season without atleast some breakdowns, no matter how new or old the equipment is. Great video of course!
Hey!
I enjoy the videos Zach, don't know how you have time to do that and farm lol. I think that's the belt we broke last year on our 9670. We changed it ourselves, doable but just took some time. Carry on!
At 8: 50 you said "we broke an auger" 😂 love the video
Safer and cheaper to break a belt then a driveshaft or shattered gearbox Zach.😁👍
I do miss those Minnesota deer I grew up seeing.
love it......working hard making those crops
I’m definitely gonna stick with you Zach! I hope that extra 100hp is getting it done for you guys. This damn weather has to go toward the good sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. Keep after them fields.
just subscribed from the uk. enjoying your videos, really interesting to see how you guys operate very interesting
Thanks for the update.
Weather seems screwed up all over the place. Who. Knows what it gonna bring. As soon as it looks like we're back to normal it does something goofy. Good luck and we'll be watching😊😊‼️
Same we just broke a belt on our combine too today
Farm life. Always adapting to what is presented to you. Your combine at startup sounded like our 9630T after u fixed that belt....... might be the same starter or that belt gained u 100hp! Good luck with harvest
I've got about 400+ hours in farming sim 2017, but it's easier on there to reset your combine when drive it in the river.
Love the channel Zach, what do farmers in MN do during the winter?
Great video as always, thanks for all your hard work.
Sounds like me trying to dry hay. Keep up the good work
thanks for your videos, greetings from Italy
Any Amish farmers up that way? Do you all get along with them? What are some of the different ways they harvest from your methods! It would be a great vlog!
Love the skipping at 3am lol
I noticed that your combine turns over a couple times we have a Massey Ferguson with a Cummins you touch the key and it’s running. Unlike the challenger it makes a sweet noise and nice cold starts. We also have to Versatile 4WD articulated tractors and they both have Cummins in them and they are the same story touch the key there running sound great too.
Jasper Kraft Nothing wrong with the engine turning over for a second or two. Helps get the oil pressure up a bit before getting started.
This is a 13.1 L Deere the big engine. But I've noticed My buddies 8235r turns over a few times before it starts
depending on the software level in the ecm, the engine may have to turn 2 revolutions before the crank sensor and the cam sensor pulse so the ecm knows which injector to fire . also that sounds like a gear reduction starter, it doesn't spin the engine as fast as a direct drive starter like cummins, but it has 2x the torque.
I don't know your crop conditions and settings but typically if you are getting broken cob in the tank it's because your concave is set too tight. Just a thought. Love your videos keep up the good work!
