Literally here right now, very helpful, thanks! These hikes are absolutely serious. Not easy, these are real mountains not simple trails. Acclimating is so important! Thanks for the good video
That's a beautiful hike. Pretty high at over 13k ft elevation. And I can always count on you to bring us the natural beauty of the land with great editing. Thanks!
Recommend three days to acclimate, two to three Ibuprofen each morning and maybe 1 or two before bedtime. Light exercise helps. Huaraz is the best in the world for hiking, climbing, and for sure, mountain biking. Retirement here is the best for healthy and cheap living.
Im going to Peru next month and I thought I could go right to hiking in Huaraz… And know I will wait to get use I little more with the high. Thanks for the tips!
Just got back fom cusco a month ago. The altitude sickness is no joke, luckly got acclimated in a couple days, but had to drink a ton of coca tea and kept nibbling on coca candy. Never been out of breath just going up a flight of stairs before, but the first night was rough.
Awesome video!! So did you hire a taxi directly to and from the trailhead from Huaraz? And was the driver waiting for you at the trailhead once you finished the hike? I'm looking at doing this solo and am trying to figure out the transportation, this hike looks amazing and I don't want to miss it.
Pack long sleeves, a hat, and sunscreen please to go to Huaraz! If it's warm, wear a lightweight shirt with long sleeves. You don't want to have a sunburn compounding the affects of the altitude.

Fantastic video with great advice and information! Lake 513 is undoubtedly one of the Cordillera Blanca's most beautiful lakes.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful adventure. Please be safe, that last fall had me worried.
Glad you enjoyed! Don’t worry, I’m okay - probably shouldn’t film on loose rock like that haha
The climb was rough, but holy cow the views!! Wow, that fall, I hope you didn't get hurt badly.
Huaraz is a special place ❤
Memorable hike. Crosby, when you get to be 85 years old you will probably not be able to do such hikes.
Such a great experience. And so beautiful in those mountains.
It was so so incredible!
Cool video! Need to go there one day. Great droneshots too! Happy hiking! 🥾
Awwwww....the hen squatted for you! What a sweetheart! That means that she likes you, and would like you even more if you were a rooster!

OK new bucket list item? That lake looked incredible! Any idea if the horseflies are bad ALL the time or if there’s a season to go?
No apparently that’s not normal! Guess we were just unlucky haha
