I have the same car also upgraded to valineon XL 3s with fans for both motor and esc and upgraded shocks to stiffer in the front and softer in the rear so the body rolls a little in the rear end but with both front and rear having better shocks then stock and metal driveshaft axles for front chromed and rpm camber links non adjustable preset to a certaint spec. I can make my car drift like yours but with the wheels on, the rubbers are a little bigger then stock width wise with an anaconda street tire and a negative offset in the rear. So fun!!! Much props on your build!!
Nice rip I asked about the pinion gear 2 years ago like a noob. I love this car so much they finally got back in stock for Xmas and clear bodies. The sct wheel was a nice touch for drifting. Good idea for some garage or unfinished basement drift rally action👍🏽💯
It is a surprisingly fun RC car. It really is a great basher, that I haven’t been able to break. Unlike the rock ray, which I’m fixing all the time. Thanks for stopping back in!
Thanks! Definitely agree with you there. I wish there where more body options. I suppose you could also use the Slash body. I have considered the slash truck body a couple times.
hey man, I love this video. this isn't a car many people think to build but Id likes to get one and build it up like a true rally car. However, I don't know anything about rally cars and how they are set up. For example, I didn't know that rally cars are a little higher in the back than in the front. My question to you is how would you suggest that I start to gather in formation about rally cars in general to make the same adjustments on the Traxxas Rally? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you!
Hey Da Don, I kinda have a different thought process for tuning RCs. RC Cars don't really tune like a real car. I adjusted my Traxxas in any way necessary to make it run like a rally car. Even if that means it is tuned nothing like a real rally car. I know very little about real rally cars too, so I just adjust my RC till it runs like I think it should. Hope that helps. I do the same thing with my Rock Crawlers. THey just need to act real, not be set up like the real thing
You should see my 10 year old beat Slash 4x4 body. Can stick your finger though ever corner from road rash. Will Help if you put tape behind the cracks on body to keep from splitting
It’s a bad mold call traxxas and they will replace it . It happend to me with a ford Bigfoot body you can’t tell until you pull the clear mask off it after you paint it
I have not driven that car (but I want one), you may try the 43T spur gear from Integy for a bit more torque. www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p_prodid=8581 You might experiment with some wheels. Maybe these www.rcplanet.com/traxxas-wheels-2-1-16-rally-tra7371
I have the same car and I originally ran the upgraded slipper clutch. I had trouble drifting as well. Then I switched to the traxxas center differential and now I get a more realistic driving experience.
I am coming right out of the gate saying I am new to the RC world but am wondering if you bought the body unpainted and if so what color did you use? I have an Orange Spice Fiesta ST and the color looks pretty dang close. I want this car just so I can have an RC rally version to play with.
Hi Vicho S, I tried it in some light dirt with the stock tires and it does okay, but the suspension is stiff, with limited motion. Not the best for off road. Currently mine is just set up for street, no dirt and mud.
You want that ass end to squat man. Thats producing a positive oversteer... as the weight distribution is pushed toward the front inducing a drift, induce that drift and smash the throttle. Now then, throw away those proline shocks and stock fronts and get you the traxxas gyr shocks. Take thos axial rims to lose and size them until you find the same diameter pvc, have them chop you some lengths, 2ton epoxy them to the rims n bam!!
All you can do is test and drive till you like it! Im gonna try your idea though and drop the rear again to see how it drives. I swap a lot of my shocks around till I have the cash to get new ones, but Ill keep my eye on those GTR shocks. PVC tires would be awesome!
Call up some local hobby RC shops. The smaller ones often deal in used RC cars. You may get some pricing off of them too. I'm gonna guess $250 - $300. I advise getting a new one and taking advantage of the Traxxas "power up program". traxxas.com/powerup. Lot of people overlook it.
I got mine at HobbyTown since it happened to be in stock. Search for Traxxas TRA7412 Body, Ford Fiesta ST Rally. There are currently a couple on amazon. Not cheap at $57.
You should use shoe goo and drywall tape to strengthen the body. Add sway bars to stiffen and reduce body roll. Cheers
When he steals it from Kevin

i just picked one of these up, gonna keep it stock for now but man these things r SICK. love the suspension.
Definitely still a great rc. So durable. check out the Traxxas power up program when you need to upgrade. traxxas.com/powerup

Man that is drifting nicely, that body is nice but it sucks for being made with a very thin PC and the body lacking light buckets

You should start posting again. You are great!
Thank You, I really appreciate it. I do hope to post some vids this summer.
No grease on the spur and pinion, just collects dust!!
Great weight balance I think those shocks handle much better

Any idea what gearing combo would work on a 1/16 scale Traxxas rally that would result in similar setup as you got going with with 1/10 scale ?

I will look into that. This car is so simple to swap parts on.
Love the Ken Block Rally. Ive had my eye on some of the HPI Drifters and racers. Definitely want a new one before the summer is over

I’m pretty sure the paint was Tamiya PS-7 Orange Lexan Spray Paint. You can find the body online, search “ford fiesta rally body”.
Also, I never use black, because it looks too black. Instead, use Tamia gunmetal color for the roof.
Great video!
Turn music Up just a little more so it's exactly the same as your voice.
Nice video , But did I hear you right!Do you mean to say a low tooth pinion gives more talk than a higher tooth pinion.
Yes, a smaller gear will give more torque. Larger gears + larger wheels = slower start with more top speed.
Hello,¿ do you think that the subaru monte carlo that you armed will be used for dirt and mud? greetings

Gracias por responder, entonces me dices que habria que cambiar

Gots lots of GUSTO... LOL [too much one piece] Franky
Locking or change diff Fluids?
Is it possible to find 1/8 drifting wheels with diameter ~100mm with 12 or 17 hex, to fit the Rally Fiesta?
Power Hobby 17mm
thanks
Newbie question: is it possible to upgrade the motor to a brushless?
Yes it is. I suggest checking out the Traxxas power up program. traxxas.com/powerup
Awesome video! Checkout mine I just posted drifting on a frozen pond!
I was wanting to buy one used does anyone know of a good price? For the traxxas rally with a titan motor?

@@WorkingInTech yeah i stick with my local hobby shop 100% they are great there traxxas support they claim to have is way over hyped sadly
What springs are u running on top of the factory springs?
I'm running some proline damper spings. Something like this www.amazon.com/Pro-line-Racing-Dual-Spring-Assortment/dp/B078RTBLY4/
@@WorkingInTech thanks genius idea when I seen that.
Hey what was your upgraded slipper clutch?
traxxas.com/products/parts/6878
How many inner diameters is the wheel?
these are the Axial 2.2 3.0 Method 105 Wheels 41mm. Thats all the info I have.
Those are pinion gears not spur gears
That so called spur gear is actually called a pinion gear.
i know I'm kind of off topic but do anybody know a good website to watch new movies online?
@Esteban Lucas i watch on FlixZone. Just search on google for it :)
@Esteban Lucas i would suggest FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
How durable is the stock body? Rtr
It seems very durable, its some thick plastic and has some decent build quality around it. I have no cracks or stresses in my frame
Where'd ya get that body
I got mine at HobbyTown since it happened to be in stock. Search for Traxxas TRA7412 Body, Ford Fiesta ST Rally. There are currently a couple on amazon. Not cheap at $57.
@@WorkingInTech thanks!
Try the 6893X insted of the plastic original: ruclips.net/video/BgX49EZPCaw/видео.html
15 tooth? Dude put a 2000kv 4074 with a 27 tooth pin and a 50 tooth spur and stop playing around.
Nice! I really love this car and hope I get another one someday. It got stolen a while back, with one of my Axials, which still chokes me up a bit.
