    The original Rally, that came out in 2011, already had the brushless velineon system as standard. It also was the first vehicle which had the 4x4 lcg chassis and ppl used it to convert the slash into a lcg short-course truck. A year later the slash ultimate came out which then had the lcg-chassis equipped.

  • @EdwardHart
    @EdwardHart 6 месяцев назад +2

    I built something like this out of a slash ultimate last year, but I used duratrax street tires on it, the thing is a riot to drive, and fun as hell to drift. Took it to a local dirt track, and it was super fun!

    I recently bought a brushed rally car and before i even put a battery in it I swapped my castle copperhead10 and motor into it along with a locked center diff and proceeded to break the rear suspension after about two batteries. I have just ordered all of the vxl upgraded suspension parts and axles.

  • @dylanwhite6539
    @dylanwhite6539 9 месяцев назад +2

    You really need a 6780. I’ve gone through several slipper clutches and the old center diff, nothing beats the 6780 center diff.

  • @joeycarlson9589
    @joeycarlson9589 9 месяцев назад +3

    Check the bearing that the slipper rides on in the chassis. Those are known for ceasing up. The plastic spacer that the bearing goes over is known for wearing out too, and there’s an aluminum upgrade that comes with a new bearing. Maybe take the motor out of mesh and see if the spur spins freely. Could be something binding in the front end🤷🏼‍♂️
    They’re not as readily available but:
    CEN Puma
    HPI WR8
    Maverick Quantum FLUX RX
    Carisma M48S

I think I only paid $30.00 for all 3 parts. Seems like a very cheap improvement. I have the Rally BL-2S car. I am not having any problems but I am going to change those parts anyway.

      I got one about 2 months ago & was a bit disappointed at first because I couldn't get it to drift, it was constantly spinning.!
      All it took was to stiifen the rear shocks all the way, soften the fronts nearly all the way & aligning the rear toe.!
      I was surprised to see they'd given it toe out/negative at the rear.!!!
      I put a couple of degrees of positive toe/toe out at the rear, I didn't even touch the diffs, they're pretty near perfect out the box (which is quite rare)😉..
      Now it drifts on demand, tracks beautifully straight & true.
      The only thing is, it now has a bit of understeer on power, but it can be easily provoked into sliding the rear with power.!
      I've geared it up on the stock system & got 57 mph..
      I fitted a slightly smaller motor (3660)but 3800kv & got 52mph on 3S & 63mph on 4S...it was very hot though.!!
      I've put the stock motor back in.!
      They currently sell for only £224 here in the UK after HPI cut all their prices by about a third..
      Just to buy the electrics alone would set you back about 3/4 of the selling price.!
      It's a total no brainer.!
      Also, with those belted tyres it's such a solid planted chassis that just inspires confidence.
      The tyres are actually surprising me too, I'd have totally expected to be half way through my 2nd set after 2 months but I'm still on the originals & they're barehalf worn.!
      Of course, I live in Scotland so my roads are almost permanently damp or wet, we'll see how they do in the heat & dry.!
      One last thingthe bodies aren't as weak as RUclipsrs would have you believe, I've crashed mine numerous times going 50+,it's gobe skidding & tumbling down the road while bouncing of curbs & all that's happened is a couple of cracks starting right at the bottom of the front wheel arches.!
      I honestly can't recommend this RC enough..
      So much so, I'm going to buy myself the speed truck version.!!
      Stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍

      @@alantaylor353 well there you go! Thanks for the honest review of the car, I had heard good things but you’ve made me want one even more. I have a very custom Maverick Scout and I really like the brand, do think they are very underrated

      @@stevekeiron30 Absolutely.. they are very under rated.!
      If you liked the "Strada" range of RCs (I have the RX version👍👍), you'll be REALLY impressed with their "Quantum" range.!!!
      They're a couple of levels above.!!
      You get an awful lot of car for your money.!
      The rally version is basically a short course truck with different bumpers, they handle the rough stuff & jumps with ease.!
      (I have the Hobby Plus Short course truck version which is almost identical apart from the bumpers.. I'm thinking of fitting them to my rally version)
      Maverick in my opinion are like Hobao..
      Under rated.!
      Hobao make some of the nicest chassis you can get, I have 5 of them, their 1/8 stuff is especially good.!
      The diffs & driveshafts have been bulletproof for me, I've had their big 1/8 SC8 short course truck for about 5 years, I've ran it mostly on 6S & it still has 100% original diffs & driveshafts.
      I always get the 80% complete rolling chassis versions & add my own electrics, plus you get to paint the body how you want.!
      Hobao do a 1/8 street/rally (It needs to be raised & fit 1/8 buggy tytes if you want to rally it) car called the GTS, it comes as a nitro/4S/6S or 80% artr.
      The 80% one goes for about £230 (in the UK) you might want to look at that, also the SC8 is just a big BEAST.! 😉
      I've had my GTS at 87 mph on a Hobbywing 150 Amp ESC & a Rocket 4292 motor.!
      The SC8 is almost as fast.!
      Sorry for the mega comment, I tend to get carried away when I start talking about RCs.! 😉 😉 😂 😂
      Please stay safe out there mate & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

    It's a "1/10" Short Course with some tuning choices to lower it, which is about the same size as a 1/8 buggy. None of those scales map out to real cars when you measure the wheel base and track. The scale changes completely depending on the car you're comparing against, so it's only useful to know the relative size compared to other RC classified within the same "scale"

    Maverick quantum Rx and the cen m sport are 4wd rallys that size. Associated has some new rally inspired stuff, but I'm pretty sure it's all 2wd. I have an LC racing ptg2 rally car with a Tamiya Honda Civic hatch body on it that's freaking awesome!!!!! Not as big as this though.......but it's got a 6.5t motor and absolutely riiiiiiipppppssssssssss......lol. also, put a King headz motor mount with a center diff from a hoss in that rally. Mello the diff fluid in it down to about 50k. 30k front, 10k rear.....then take er for a proper rally rip.

    • @espressomatic
      @espressomatic 10 дней назад

      Maverick is pretty much also a 1/10 Short Course (aka 1/8 Buggy) chassis with shorter swing arms, giving it a narrower track. Which is a good thing. It's not too complicated to "DIY" with any of these platforms, rearranging parts to change the wheelbase/track ratios by mixing chassis and arms (allowing for extendable drive shafts). CoG changes easy with shock mounting and length.
