Your explanation about BOLT is not clear. Can you give a clearer Technical explanation as to what it does, practically. How does it qualify to be a 'Safe' charging socket?
Bolt Lite is presented as a safe charging socket because of- Over voltage protection Under voltage protection Over current protection Short circuit protection Over temperature protection Earth Detection No load auto cut off Robust socket that can sustain 16A load (normal wall sockets cant) Energy consumption tracking lifetime free app integration commercial grade customer support Can be listed as a public charger
@@govindkaniyath Thank you for the clarification. Sounds good. But as far as a Public Charging goes, I don't agree. For a successful, reliable and economic Public Charging point, the most important aspect is the availability of an Abundant, cheap and reliable source of POWER, which is not in the hands of companies like BOLT. There are many cases being reported that Charging stations are not able to provide timely charging services, mainly due to power interruptions. India, as such presently, is NOT geared to meet the demands of this huge energy requirement, when the number of EV's go up exponentially. This is one of the main reasons, Governments are dragging their feet, when it comes to the outright promotion of EV's, especially 4 wheelers.
@@tonyrebeiro Bolt is India's largest EV charging company with 20000+ chargers in thier network. They have market share of more than 50% in EV charging space. The point that you mentioned "cheap, available, reliable power"- it's exactly what Level-1 charging focuses. As an EV charging consultant I have done multiple case studies on the most redundant way of making a market EV ready and Level 1 charging is it's solution. Even tata's EV head Mr. Anand Kulkarani also shares the same vision. You had mentioned about unreliability about public chargers. Could you share the details of the study conducted on the same? Or the source of information other than mainstream medias?
@@govindkaniyath Unavailability of timely services related to fast charging has been seen by me on RUclips, mainly coming from end users. Since I watch many videos, and keep seeing such messages, I'm not in a position to give you any specific feedback. Just to put you in perspective, regarding myself, my experience in the field of UPS, Batteries, Charging, DC Power banks,Power distribution etc, goes back 35 years. In 1992, I worked on equipment from Dassault Aviation, while working in the Abu Dhabi Airforce in the UAE. I then switched over to MGE (Merlin Gerin Electronics) who were, one of the largest manufacturers of UPS and were very active in the Middle East region. Here too, Batteries, Static DC to DC converters, Static transfer switches, 3 phase inverters, 3 phase battery chargers, UPS's of 1.8 MW parallel redundant systems, battery banks in excess of 200KWH, were some of the stuff I worked on. I'm presently back in India, working out of my own setup/workshop, focusing on the development of a Hybrid Power setup, which utilizes multiple sources of energy harnessing, for EV charging. That's why I'm interested in this subject of charging stations and I'm keenly interested in keeping abreast with what is happening on the EV front in India. Therefore, the feedback I come up with, is critical and is not put forward to encourage negativity. My observation on the sheer availability of Energy, throughout India, in Very huge quantities, is a very challenging topic, which I notice to be the main stumbling block in terms of EV's (Private and Commercial) taking off in India. No doubt, BOLT might be a very big company in terms of Charging equipment share in India, but unless they have unlimited access to energy(which is controlled by the Government) they are helpless. If BOLT has an alternative to this hurdle, presently, I'll be very eager to know more.

Won’t recommend. inverter Battery will get damaged if used daily. And 200AH BATTERY can store only 2 units. For full charging you need 17 batteries
EV charging extension board - Rs 999 onwards..
Bolt Lite - 3,399
