I’m surprise Subaru hasn’t lost his mind completely yet
He hasn't lost his mind yet for sheer luck, there are times where he is at millimeters of becoming crazy and shattering his soul but no, the world has other plans for you Subaru (And they involve even more despair)
I'm surprised he doesn't have grey hairs yet lol
@@nickkerr6068 Maybe he could have it but because he rewinds so often his hair doesn't have the chance to become grey
That one time Subaru was smacking his head on the floor of the temple a couple episodes back till he was bleeding was in fact a moment when his mind and soul like snapped 👀 it was crazy. If it wasn't for Echidna pulling him in for another Tea party, he would have straight up gone mad 😂.
Then you know how good that "tea" has to be.
I swear the Beautrice one had to have been the most tragic. He literally said he was going to fix everything before plunging to his death.
yeah tbh I would feel the most guilt over that one
Yeah and what’s more horrible is Subaru’s loved ones and people he wants to protect most, he now has to face their horrible comments such as Ram in that one ‘there’s rlly no helping you’ and knowing Beatrice will probably be staying in that Library for many more ages T_T
It's actually horrifying how this route goes wrong. Cause there are still a chance to Subaru decide not to rewind this time loop and stay with Beatrice to put her out of her misery. At least she have a chance to be saved, right? Wrong. Wrath IF is telling us what happens if Subaru willing to choose staying alive in this loop. It's disturbing and Beatrice had been not even a little happy with the choice she made.
Flayer_Pegasus she wasn’t happy? I remember it was inferring that Subaru had said that he was her ‘they’ before he killed her, but I don’t rlly remember anything about her being unhappy. Well that makes sense tho,,,
@@mysarla I might not remember it correctly as well, but wasn't she scared of Subaru to the point of trebmbling? It sounds more like salvation from guilt, than the true happiness.
I wish they showed the time Emilia slapped Roswal after he told her the twins killed Subaru. Later she cut ties with the mansion
Emilia should've killed Rem for that honestly
that would have broke pacing honestly, but i would have liked at least minimum showing her burying his corpse with rem, ram and roswaal pleading her not to go.
something that shows it but quickly
she also walked out carrying Subarus body too

@@creatorrater2931 Reinhardt is pretty broken, the author said that if Reinhardt and Satella (somebody with the literal power to rewind time) fought it would be a stalemate.
"You are a true hero. And a hero is all you can be"
So... Since he is so powerful, Reinhard's only purpose in life is to be a hero who fights for the sake of the world? That's kinda depressing.
Well like puck said that is all he can do
that sounds exactly like Metroman's existential crisis on Megamind
actually it sounds like a certain hero of justice
No, he can only be a hero in that he can never prevent disaster, only save people from it. I believe he may have a curse that keeps him from being able to arrive to a dangerous situation on time, but I may be wrong there and it is just bad luck. Also in that single sword strike Reinhart both destroyed and saved the world simultaneously.

Yeah cuz for normal people I think it would’ve just been facing one unthinkable present but Subaru kept failing and going into the trial over and over since he has multiple ‘presents’
Subaru lucked out in the first trial, now he s getting the real Echidna trial experience.

joao neto nah he didn’t ‘luck out’ he just already had reached a solid conclusion with the help of Rem and Emilia for his past. Now the second trial... That's why he's my favourite mc of all time, and the person I harbor most respect to.
Not really he’s broken down many times and would have literally lost his cool many times over
One especially note was after the Great Rabbit incident, his mind was so damaged, broken and traumatized he couldn’t function after that and left broken entirely. If it wasn’t for Echidna intervening that would be that no more Subaru he’d be a mess who could never recover.
And even before that in the first tea party the fact he drank the tea saved him so much in terms of strengthening his resolve and fortitude up until the rabbits of course

Well yes but it's been more than a few hours since he launched himself off the cliff at the mansion, or Rem killed him, or he died from the Mabeast curse. I think people don’t understand truly why this was more mentally draining then any other death subaru faced. Because despite all the torture he went through, he always had a mindset that he was helping the ones he loved, and now he realised that he wasn’t helping anyone and only hurting them, that is truly traumatic
Well you're mostly right, but think of it like this. If Subaru is jumping between worlds after each death, that means the previous worlds are abandoned and left to rot. In other words, there's a chance that the only thing being saved is Subaru's own mind, nothing else.
@@jackmayor3574 Saying his mind is “saved” is even a stretch.

And that's the true point of Reinhard's character, and it's why he can be such an OP Gary Stu yet still be awesome.
I know this is pretty sad for Subaru but seeing reinhard one shot puck was cool
Not only did he one shot Puck he completely shattered and rebirthed Re:Zero’s entire world and he wasn’t even trying...
jano Gabor No he quite literally rebirths the world, most of the world was already destroyed and had no life left

1:40 this gives me chills everytime I see this. The way Reinhard’s power passes through the clouds and obliterates puck as the music makes a slow fall then instantly cuts to black, then cuts to Subaru and Emilia laying on the floor in the darkness. Amazing
In the Novels it is explained that the strike formed cracks on the sky, like he shattered reality.
Me after season 1: "Man itd be cool if we could see if the timelines he left behind still went on without him and what theyd be like!".
Me now: "WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!?".
I think I had the exact same thought during season 1 of “I wonder if RBD is time travel or not?” and was then showed (imo) the most horrifying scene in Re:Zero
1:37 Just a little excerpt from the web novel describing Reinhardt's attack because I dont think this does it justice.
Reinhard lifted his sword over his head, and in a single flash of his Swordsmanship―― from the glint of his blade’s edge an intense heat shot out.
Cleaving through the air, piercing the atmosphere and shattering the earth, the maelstrom of up-swept mana severed everything along the line of the swung-out blade―― and, as the light settled, the world parted before Subaru’s disembodied eyes.
At the close of the torrential sword-slash, the world that was covered in the white, encompassing cold was born anew.
The parted world was mended, as the spiral of mana faded into a ring, returning to the atmosphere. From the shattered earth, flowers budded and bloomed. The pierced-through air was imbued with warmth, as sunlight peered from the severed sky.
*The Sword-Saint’s strike simultaneously brought about the world’s end as well as its rebirth.*
――While the colossal beast that was rent by that strike vanished without a trace.
Indisputably present only moments ago, the enormous body was gone, and no indication of its destruction remained
this trial was never meant to be this challenging. Subaru's unique circumstance ramped up the difficulty by several hundred times as his worst potential present is limitless.
Stupid, scared Garf: "You don't know what pain and suffering is like!!"
Sad-Boi Barusu: "Hold my sanity"
Subaru : "and you don't know about rabbits"
This scene turned his deaths from weightless and mere learning experiences to deaths that had real weight to them.
This is heartbreaking, the fact that he’s sacrificed himself in order to make things better and the possibility he’s caused suffering everytime instead of resetting the time.
The unthinkable present scenes made my jaw drop and cemented this anime as a favorite of mine.

Honestly this is one of the best scenes in anime
I did not expect Reinhard to one shot Puck like that, damn
Anime only i guess? Well Reinhard IS the strongest character of the series afterall. Anyway the anime nerfed Reinhard when he killed Puck, here is how it played out in the Novels:
The next instant, Reinhard raised the Dragon Blade above his head, and there was a single flash of light-the sky split, cracks running through the very air; the ground crumbled; mana swirled in a vortex; and along the arc of his slash, the world…slid.
The moment after that cascading slash settled down, the white, cold air covering the world…recovered.
The slide in the world was repaired, the parts that had become a swirling vortex of mana reverted to their proper forms, flowers budded forth from the shattered ground, and peace spread through the cracked air. From the sky, dazzling sunrays poured down.
The slash of the Sword Saint had both ended the world and simultaneously brought about its re-creation-
And the enormous beast that had been bathed in that slash had been annihilated from the world without a trace. There were not even side effects of destruction to be seen; that a battle had even taken place seemed like nothing but a dream.
-With a rasping sound, Reinhard sheathed the Dragon Sword within its white scabbard once more.

This show does a good job at showing you how he is always so close to insanity.
To think that some of his death's had such bangers of a insert song then here the soundtrack becomes more solemn and sad.
Guess this confirms Puck is weaker than the sun
Uhh..context please?
@@fbiuzz Reinhard is confirmed by the author that if he were to have a battle with the sun, Reinhard would win. It could have been a semi-joke though.
@@Rubick471 yeah no, he never said that, he said that od laguna is like the sun, and that if reinhard fought od laguna he would win.
Od laguna being like the sun means that it's just an object, has no will of it's own.
Stop spreading misinformations please.
@@voice-less ah. I see.
