Linking this back to the scene where we saw Satella devouring everything with her darkness; I think that this scene was JUST before Emilia became possessed by the Witch of Envies Dark Side, as Betelguese also said that Emilia was a perfect candidate to resurrect Satella. Now, I have a whole theory on the story. Of why the Witch is obsessed with Subaru & Why he is suspected to be the Sin of Pride by Betelguese aswell as the excitement from Typhon, the Witch of Pride to see him. I suspect that Subaru has been summoned into the world before, maybe when he was a kid. Subaru used to want to be the leader of the pack. Taking pride in being his father's son, so what if in that summoning, HE WAS Pride & a lot stronger than he currently is now because of it. Maybe he was the one who helped Satella end all the other witches. Maybe this is all like an Alice in Wonderland Returns scenario where he has been here before, with no recollection of it. Maybe he is subconciously in love with Emilia, because in his previous summoning he was in love with Satella. That's why the Witches all seem so familiar with him, especially Typhon who calls him Baru. Like some kinda kid buddy. Which is the REAL reason he had been skipping school and holding up in his room! because of the trauma the world had left him with.

This fucking scene is like nightmare fuel. Such psychological horror moment. There were many scenes that gave chills but his scene was slow, more quite than the others and one on one. The fact that that was the last scene in the episode gave me chills that it just ended on that note.

One thing that this anime did really well is showing what it looks like when you lose your mind… How it looks like when you broke someone… By now Subaro lost his mind quite a few times but always recovered… Actually fascinating how much he managed to endure while still staying kind/friendly…
The fact that in the anime Subaru did not respond to Emilia like he did in the light novel, trying to stay a little longer with Emilia while he was dying, is even scarier, gives away much more eerie and real feeling.

This episode (s2 ep11) was my favourite episode of s2 because this ep has some great reveals + with most terrifying deaths of subaru. This episode deaths still give me PTSD This ep background music is also terrifying When I first time watched this episode i thought she was not emilia but satella.
Well Subaru went to Mansion and left a letter to explain things to her. But the letter couldn't reach her so she thought that Subaru abandoned her. She went to the chamber and took the trial over and over again untill it broke her mind completely. Subaru was always there to save her before, since now he was gone, she thought no one will come save her anymore and she went insane.
And the reason she seems so obsessed with Subaru here is because Puck is gone and he's the only person she can rely on now. She doesn't exactly trust anybody else very much. So while taking the trial with both of the people she trusted abandoning her, she hyperfixated on them to get the strength to keep running the trial.
Of all the gruesome timelines of Subaru / Emilia this is the Creepiest for me. When the mind broken Emilia welcome half dead Subaru I almost felt my gut 🥲
In this scene it’s almost like he got his idealized version of her. The main heroine love interest in games that guys think that they have to push themselves hard for, and will always be cheerful no matter what

When I watched this anime a few years ago, it genuinely made me uncomfortable. The plot of Subaru going through torture via dying almost every single episode, then him realizing that everytime he dies, hes not reliving in the same world. There was one scene where he could see the other worlds he died in. They were griefing over his death.
he is reliving the same world, thats why in the trial the voice says "an unthinkable present" or something like that. Those are just the possible outcomes if he didnt have return by death
Emilia kissed subaru in this scene cause Emilia believes that babies are made when two people of opposite gender kiss each other, basically she tried to get preg... with subaru's child so even if subaru were to die she can have a little subaru to live for.

The fact that in the anime Subaru did not respond to Emilia like he did in the light novel, trying to stay a little longer with Emilia while he was dying, is even scarier, gives away much more eerie and real feeling.

The only anime scene that sends shivers down my spine. This scene is creepy af and to this day I don't understand wth happened.
Well Subaru went to Mansion and left a letter to explain things to her. But the letter couldn't reach her so she thought that Subaru abandoned her. She went to the chamber and took the trial over and over again untill it broke her mind completely. Subaru was always there to save her before, since now he was gone, she thought no one will come save her anymore and she went insane.
And the reason she seems so obsessed with Subaru here is because Puck is gone and he's the only person she can rely on now. She doesn't exactly trust anybody else very much. So while taking the trial with both of the people she trusted abandoning her, she hyperfixated on them to get the strength to keep running the trial.
I like how we're admitting to liking a mentally broken Emilia more than the original, I guess Subaru is the only good boi after all huh?

When I watched this anime a few years ago, it genuinely made me uncomfortable. The plot of Subaru going through torture via dying almost every single episode, then him realizing that everytime he dies, hes not reliving in the same world. There was one scene where he could see the other worlds he died in. They were griefing over his death.
he is reliving the same world, thats why in the trial the voice says "an unthinkable present" or something like that. Those are just the possible outcomes if he didnt have return by death
