I’m visiting Chicago and tomorrow we are going to Chinatown to go to the Chinese American museum and eat some dim sum for lunch! I’m hoping to use some of these phrases.
I’m back and we had a great time in Chinatown! The brunch was delicious. The museum was really interesting and small, but beautiful. I talk to a volunteer worker there for a long time. He had immigrated to the US from the area around Hong Kong in 1979 to go to school. I told him I was learning Chinese And we talked for a long time. He was so nice and easy to talk to. It was a lot of fun.
"请让一下" sounds somehow aggressive to me. A more polite expression is "借过"。A more suitable situation for "请让一下" is when someone asks you to give the convenience for another person to pass through. Except if you add more modifiers to milden it, like "麻烦请让一下" or "不好意思，请让一下", or even "不好意思，请让一下好吗？"

Since this is my third language I am an expert at how I learn. That said for us that are native English speakers trying to learn a tonal language tones can be hard and will just take time to hear. You should do a video on pronunciation. For example xi and shi/ chi and qi are often pronounced similarly by English speakers. Anyways I will be here to watch the videos because as the Chinese say 熟能生巧。加油！

It's grammatically incorrect. The proper phrase should be 很高兴认识了你. More than that though, I've heard this phrase more often from non native speakers than native speakers themselves. It's a rare phrase by itself and an awkward transliteration from English. The proper phrase to be taught should be 幸会.

I don't really see the problem though, and when learning a language as beginners, I think there are more factors to consider, like ease of understanding and practical usage of a phrase. For example, I use 在哪里 as oppose to 在哪儿 because the former is easier to understand should it be pronounced incorrectly.
