Bumble has me creasing all day. The best thing about him is his short attention span to the game going on and he goes on some rant about other topics. Feels like a good old Grandad telling his stories from back in the day🤣 what a legend
When it might be clipping depending on swing (I went on slo-mo to check and it defninitely pitched in-line, so it just depends on swing, and I think it just clips). Nasser dodging a bullet there lol.

@@searocky1 I know it's not in india because we have star sports and Sony sports network, I am talking about their you tube videos , I watch them on you tube
We don't get to hear it in full flight very often but Nasser Hussain has the best laugh in cricket. There's some behind-the scenes footage from one of the recent Shane Warne docos of him and Rob Keys and Warnie just clowning around and Nasser's uncontrolled laughter is one of the most innocently joyous things I've ever heard. One of the lesser known qualities about Warnie was that he could be unintentionally very funny, Nasser and Rob talked about it a bit in the doco. The deep sadness in Rob Keys voice when he said "all that's over now" at the end after all the laughter just broke my heart.
This video makes me so happy😂 these commentators have great chemistry and I love how Bumble has them all hosing themselves with laughter. Also love Nasser making hilarious gestures behind Bumble as he goes off on his rants😂
Bumble is a pure comedy and love him a lot. People like him can save the game from boredom especially test cricket. Sky should keep as long as he wants.
Bumble is an ABSOLUTE delight to watch ! Right from his accent, to his mannerisms, to his expertise, to his voice, to an excellent commentator, to a fantastic observer ! Simply love him 👌🏻👍 He was the Coach of 1997 ENG Team who won Singer Akai Cup involving IND, PAK & WIN in Sharjah, under Adam Hollioake captaincy, and ENG didnt win much quadrangular tournaments before that, so that's my first memory of Sir David Lloyd ❤
Accusing Bumble of racism is one of the nastiest most vindictive things anyone could do to him. They knew it would hurt him but did it anyway So sad it made him retire
I believe he means Herbert Baldwin, who umpired 9 Tests and died in the 60's. Harry Baldwin was also a first class cricketer and umpire but died in the 35, a bit before even Bumble's time
I have been an amateur umpire for many years. Knowing whether the ball is going to hit the stumps, has pitched outside leg, or hit the pad outside the line or not, is the really EASY BIT. Where things get far more difficult is thin edges on caught behinds and LBW decisions. If in doubt in these cases, it is NOT OUT, whatever you or the fielding team may think. However, that is still not really the hard bit about being an umpire. These include standing up and concentrating for the entirety of the game. The other dealing with the idiocy, irrational aggression, ignorance of the laws, and sometimes dangerous insanity of some of the players. No one likes being out, and especially being given out, such is the nature of competitive cricket even so-called friendly games on Sunday afternoons. So-called, because when 22 grown men take the field of play, there is no such thing as a friendly game. The best one can hope for is that everyone endeavors to behave themselves as gentlemen most of the time, and to be fair sometimes they do so. However, it is not only some batsmen that are verging on the psychotic, one can only feel sorry for some of these chap's wives and families. Some of the bowlers are also not playing with a full pack. The typical LBW appeal goes something like this. HOWISTHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT??????????????? My reply, " very close except that it was outside leg going over the stumps and missing the 4th one. I then often end up signaling for a 4." Never a six so far, but it would not surprise me if I did so one day. If you umpire long enough, if it can happen, it has happened. Umpiring demands, skill, knowledge, endurance, masses of concentration, the thickest of thick skins, and nerves of steel. Also in the case of test match umpires the legs of an Olympic athlete. Have any of you people tried being on your feet for 5 hot days, while trying to concentrate on every single ball and much else besides? I have witnessed games where the umpires have become so intimidated by the batsman that they will refuse to give any LBW decisions at all however plumb. At which point the game can become farcical as the batsmen start playing across the line at everything coming their way, while the bowlers start spraying the ball all over the place like they can't do any better. Seriously folks without competent and confident umpiring the game does not work as a game of cricket. It rapidly becomes an excuse for a piss-up in the club bar. I only still do it to help my son's clubs out, plus the free lunch. I seriously don't know why other umpires put themselves through it. I am reminded of the words of Rudyard Kipling and need to be on a regular basis. If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you, you could also become a cricket umpire. .
I remember reading Frank Chester was an outstanding umpire and once a batsman hit a ball so straight and powerful he was lucky to have moved out of harms way .
