@@andrewlees4369 carnt remember exactly but I don't think it was. I'll have to slow it down but I pretty sure the ball hits him outside the line because the ball seems towards then away from him..
@@andrewlees4369 sorry Andrew your wrong. Slowed it down to .75x and it's clear pitches just outside the line then hits him outside the line and not even close. As the batter gets hit he spreads his leg as to see the off stump as a reference outside the Line.

Of the ones I got wrong:
Two of them were the exact same ball - right-arm over to a left-hander - that I thought pitched outside leg
Two of them were in the Ashes that I got wrong on height, although the second one would have saved me had there been umpire's call on impact.
3:00 even professional umpires cannot guess it

And also in real matches deliveries like this are generally very fast to watch the impact carefully .
You can't say that is easy on field in sunlight with also many disturbance , if u think about all real condition of a match than I don't think that was a easy one .
I'm not a expert but watching and playing cricket for very long time so I have a bit idea of how that was very tough to guess
Because u can watch the impact again but a umpire can't he have to give decision in 4-5 seconds so he have to cal calculate all stuff in only few micro seconds

Common error underestimating the bounce. I got 20/20, you should watch more cricket.
@Pinpadprompts no that's not the case. If you look at the other 15 deliveries they were not bouncing as much.

6:57 - The DRS of the 1st LBW decision from "The Ashes Set" or the final set was entirely inaccurate.
There's no way the ball was hitting the wickets that closely. It would have likely missed the stumps or at most just brushed past them. But the DRS shows more than 50-60% of the bowl hitting wickets, IMPOSSIBLE.
Pause exactly at 7:03 if you're still not convinced.
No, it is hard to tell but the ball absolutlely hits in line with the stumps and will hit the stumps, but bounces well off to the right from the batsman's pad giving the illusion that it will miss the off-stump
They fucked up the position of the stumps while showing the rendered graphic..should have been slightly towards the left side (when viewed from front)
But DRS was spot on.
I agree with you, but It's not going to be professional quality. A fun game to play though

20, The Ashes one really put me on edge.
This could have been better showing more of balls when bowled wide of the crease and ball pitches out side the line but hit inline of leg and goes onto miss. Or pitches on middle but hits outside leg due too batters taking leg stump as there guard .
But have to agree the drs here was a bit off in the last 3 or 4 min segment.

Great practice for a beginning umpire like me!
That last guy batting always finished his movement in a different position to where he was hit. This made it tricky to judge.

This is not lords this is MCG there's so much bounce I got mine wrong as the ball was going over the stumps
1 wrong in county and 2 each in test and ashes. All the wrong ones were close, but I can't give excuses.

17/20 I’ll take that and the ones I got wrong were so close so I’m happy to see that in my errors they were still so incredibly close and is what DRS is for but to be honest I’m just glad I didn’t make a complete ass of myself 😂
