That is a very custom-built car by a private company that charges astronomical price for the creation of their cars. Yes they're worth it but Chevrolet had said they were going to come back out with the Chevelle and they never followed through. Shame on GM!
The thing is Randall, if GM had come out with a "Chevelle" it would be an ugly, 4-door, thick-pillared sedan, like the big ugly "Impala" of the mid-'90s. I can guarantee you GM would not have brought out a gorgeous (updated '70-style) Chevelle as seen in this video. GM's good at applying old names to newer cars that are capitalizing on the old name. It's similar to what CBS did in 2010 with 'Hawaii 5-0'. Horrible mess pyrotechnic-carnage laden series that was literally nothing like the original 1968-'80 original.
This Beautiful Car cost well over $160 , 000 . It's not a Camaro , or a Trans Am , nor is it a Corvette / Stingray . It's a Chevrolet Chevelle SS , 70 . One of a kind .
....Millennial/ Gen Z view on everything - no - body curves in the {sheet metal}, hood pins & chrome rear bumper for a minimum. Extra points for chrome lower bumper in the front. Otherwise, solid no. And not more than $75,000. I was around tool & die in Detroit, and injection molding. It CAN be done!
Couldn’t agree more. If you are going to do it do it right and pay some real homage to the original. I’d go looking for a real Chevelle before spending money on this
It needs the chrome bumpers bad, even a modern version of them, the front bumper- fasia piece isn`t working for me, the rear needs the bumper as well, with the recessed tailights, and I am a Mopar guy. It should look nice, I think $150k, and Chip Foose , or one of the other, big name guys, would build you a nice 70 Chevelle for that, an original, that might be worth $500k later down the road. I know they spent a ton of money on this, I watched the video, I just don`t get the Mack Truck front end look, for my money, I would buy an original at Mecum or Barett Jackson first.
You might have gotten a narrator who had at least the slightest knowledge of cars. As for the car, the second I saw it, the proportions screamed "reskinned Camaro", which turns out to be the case. Still, it's an attractive beast!
Would be a nice replacement for outgoing Camaro "if" they stayed true to the original design and stayed with a combustion engine and Not electric. Remember Pontiac offered the GTO in 2004 after the end of the 4th Generation Camaro in 2002. Im sure this would do better in sales again if the design was true to 70-71 Chevelle 🤔
I hate convertibles. A hardtop is a must. That is the most closely resembling model of all the retro cars. Challenger, Mustang, or Camaro. They look similar. This is dead on in many spots. The grill is perfect. The read quarters and the rear end. Awesome car. BIG BUX. Too rich for my bleed.
Don't forget the charger.never in my life have I seen a four door dodge charger until they redid it then it suddenly grew two more doors.doesnt look like any charger I remember growing up.
The last Camaro Z28 I owned was a POS 1993 beauty, which fell apart in less than 2 years. It was a total lemon, everything broke, electric windows, wipers, cruise control, blown engine, leaky T tops, bad clutch, timing gear and EFI problems. I traded it in 2 years later and took a bath on the trade. Seems every Z that year had a ton of garbage problems. My 20 year old Ram Cummings 2500 looks and runs like new. Never GM again.
Could have done a whole better design instead of modifying a camaro body… I don’t like this… I mean damn this is crazy… ford killed it with the 2010-2014 mustang. Dodge killed it with the wide body charger.. and this is the result we get for the remake of the iconic 70 chevelle. They need to just reproduce the old bodies and put all new drivetrain and interior like a resto mod, would have been a lot better than this crap
Widebody is just "fender flares". The Real widebody is dually trucks because of the chassis and frame work. You can throw "fender flares" on a smart car, doesn't make it a "true" widebody 😁😂
The original Camaros and Chevelles have always been distinctly different. Camaro - subframe with leaf spring suspension, Chevelle- full frame with coil spring suspension just to name a couple. Personally I think this is just a gimmick to separate fools from their money. Just buy an original. What kind of value will this thing have fifty years from now.

Wow, that is one ugly car. Maybe it wouldn’t look so bad if you never knew what a original 70 looked like. The proportion just don’t look right, especially in the front. The original 70 wasn’t the best looking car, it was kinda plain for a muscle car. Something about the front end that almost made me feel like it was “happy”, don’t know why. But it still looks so much better than this thing. Pretty much everything this company makes looks out of proportion and ugly.
Unfortunately these cars are like that new carbon-fiber charger that's using a hellcat.$350,000 and you can have one and the roof line still looks like a new Challenger. Not to mention they are literally cutting off the metal panels off the body and gluing carbon fiber ones on.
How long will that last? And $150,000 you can go out and buy it and old Chevelle and not only give it a custom chassis but a wicked New design interior that would not look like a sixth Gen Camaro. Don't get me wrong I only 6gen Camaro and I love it I just don't think the interior should be inside a Chevelle. The exterior styling is a bit chunky some angles it looks okay others it's just completely Wrong. It would've been much more popular at half the price. 150k is ridiculous for any chevy.
