Thus the silly and non-threatening design of the suits and the much less harsh power metal sound that have without growling and noise/heavy distortion.

That "dinosaur metal" band is called Hevisaurus. It's a finnish heavy metal band formed in 2009 that makes music for children. My 4 year old loves them, even though he's used to listening to mommy's favorite black metal bands ;)

Nile doesn't get referred to as "Pharoah Metal" or something weird like that just because their lyrics are all based on Egyptian mythology and the book of the dead. I have a massive amount of respect to the bands who make Unblack Metal. They are constantly under attack by a bunch of non-religious or satanic people; and also have many record drops because of the fear of losing money due to the bands bring Christian. Keep rocking guys!

Actually folk metal sounds pretty good there tbh
There are lots of good folk metal bands such as korpiklaani, blind guardian, finntroll, ensiferum, eluviete, waylander, myrath, chthonic, skalmold, Orden ogan. Other bands that have a folk theme but are not necessarily folk metal would be alestorm, running wild, Amon amarth, project mishram, al namrood. You should definitely check some of these bands out.
@@joeyhammer6702 Alestorm is more like pirate metal than Folk. But in that case you forgot Heilung whitch is very good druid metal. Omnia, Saltatio Mortis, Faun, Eluvitie and lots of more. Ohhh i almost forgot Dalriada are a Hungarian Folk band, they are good too :)
I would thoroughly recommend Negura Bunget as they play a lot of instruments from their native Romania, Cellar Darling which is the half of Eluviete that left for artistic differences and made 2 great albums so far, Agalloch have 5 offical albums and a lot of EPs to get through before they broke up in 2013. Also a surprising one would be Satyricon. I know they are well known as black metallers but their first album Dark Medival Times has a lot of folk influence. Oh I nearly forgot but Ne Obliviscarus are worth checking out.

I think it's genius! Metalhead parents want their kids to listen metal, but the lyrics are a bit brutal for kids... Hevisaurus fills that need. It's real heavy metal AND it has kid friendly lyrics/themes/shows. It's perfect for that demographic.

Doom metal is stuff like electric wizard and some of sleeps stuff and stoner metal is kinda the faster/slightly less distorted side of doom, like kyuss, high on fire, black sabbath and some of sleeps other stuff. And sunn o))))) is just epic doom/drone metal.
Im finnish and hevisaurus (the dinosaur metal band on the video) was my childhood i have all cds from them i was on many concerts i had shirts it was awesome and now when im 13 i listen to mostly thrash metal death metal and deathcore.

My most favorite subgenre is Drone metal. But wait, why it's called "Drone/Noise metal" ? Noise metal is much different, bands like Stalaagh and WOLD are Noise metal (To be honest, Noise black metal) and bands like Boris and SunnO))) are drone metal...

There is no 'babymetal' genre, that's the name of the band. They are the pioneers of Kawaii metal genre, however.

@@soulexchangemusic I won't not say that Dazzle Vision as the pioneer Kawaii metal. The lead vocalist does a screamo and typical Japanese woman vocals. Koba-metal the producer BABYMETAL is obviously aware of Dazzle Vision and I think he is confident enough to know he pioneered the genre. BABYMETAL vocals are more kawaii than Dazzle Vision.
I love that you let the music speak for itself, unlike Watchmojo. Most of these genres are self explanatory.
I love Christian Black Metal solely on its concept alone. It's like the ultimate middle finger to practically everyone.
Half of these aren't real subgenres, just lyrical themes that a few bands that can be easily labeled otherwise have adopted as a main gimmick, for better or for worse depending on your opinion (I happen to like some of the bands here). Subgenres exist to describe what a sound is like...so what musical traits are inherently "pirate" or inherently "Viking", etc? Folk metal shouldn't be on this list simply because it's not that weird and rather popular, but I can understand the inclusion "Nintendocore" or "Crunkcore" to an extent. But "unblack" metal sounds no different than any traditional lo-fi black metal. "Dinosaur" metal...it's just power metal played by people in dinosaur costumes. Seriously!

grindcore was weird in 1987, when ND released their Scum, now it's absolutely conservative genre with a lot of bands who play the same music.
viking/folk/pagan - is the same genre, viking is scandinavian kind of folk. and it's no weird. Can anybody say that Bathory is weird? or maybe viking-inspired songs of Manowar? it's can be weird for people, who never listened metal.
pirate metal, so Running Wild made a lot of songs about piracy. are they weird? now, it;s absolutely traditional-sounding heavy metal band
kawaii,dinosaur,unblack - stupied jokes, which can be funny only for stupied headbangers, who thinks that everything can be better and more interesting if they will mix it with metal music.
so, noise/drone and nintendocore have really weird and unusual sound.
For black metal the lyrical themes are part of the genre, so to flip it on its head can make some sense as a separate descriptor. Otherwise I can agree.

#1 Folk Metal, #2 Melodic Death Metal, #3 Grindcore, #4 Folk Metal, #5 Black Metal, #6 Japan, #7 Metal core, #8 Black Metal , #9 Some kind of rap or wtv, #10 Power Metal. My point being, just because something has a slight deviation to a standard sub-genre or some sort of theme to the lyrics doesn't mean it's a whole new thing, these segregations into sub sub sub sub sub-genres are stupid, pointless and take away the natural curiosity for a person to discover stuff inside one genre because a band or a song gets immediately labeled with a super specific genre even though it's not different from another genre... IMO of course

Subgenres can't have subgenres, only variations, as melodic, symphonic, technical or progressive. If all subgenres had actual subgenres then you would not know what the fuck are you listening to.

Fun times. I once was at a concert that a friend of mine chose (preferences Black and Death Metal) but he didn't read the flyer properly and so we (dressed with if I remember correctly Marduk shirts) ended amongst a bunch of Jesus Freaks at a small venue with mostly christian metal bands and as well some unblack metal bands.

I think the concept of pirates in metal is quite weird, but it works. The concept of folk instruments in metal also sounds quite ridiculous, but again, it works.
