When Megaman's singularity bursts right through space-time (i.e. this universe), it fails to harm the met, because for that brief picosecond, he's in a completely different universe (where there is no trace of the singularity). You could throw him into a black hole and he'd just phase right through it. The only way to kill him is to have a device that can perfectly mimic his phase shift sequence inversion pattern.
You know, it would actually be pretty damn neat easteregg if you left X for charging for like 20-30 minutes or so and screen would go all wobbly and once you let go, every thing on the screen would be destroyed, bosses included.
