  • Sorry for the lack of supporting videos, I haven't rewatched the series lately and I'm short on time for it, to be honest.
    I hope the text is not so fast... Didn't I learn anything? Lmao.
    English is not my first language, be kind ♡
    If you have song suggestions, let me know! It took me a while to find them.

      @@eiserneskreuz8408I haven't considered it before and it's not a bad idea if I ever extend the analyses to longer write-ups to post (as I make them according to what I think is "best suited" for each platform tbh).
      Appreciated the suggestion and offer. It'd be really interesting! I won't promise so much since my brain works with capricious inspiration.
      Thank you! :)

      @@Cassvrnt Hmm it was just a pretty loose idea but I thought it might help the channel grow a bit and perhaps tailor it to where the audience sits most. Maybe there are other sites as well but honestly most blogs around Hannibal that run up to now I've seen among reddit and tumblr posts.
      As for the latter, there is also no pressure nor rush in anything - so not necessarily would have to focus on pushing more than inspiration allows to on both ends although I can't deny I wouldn't mind to get my hands on anything Hannibal oriented at this point and give some food for thought and branching out with my passion for symbolism and ways it was omnipresent in that series lol. Even if we don't make something up directly, still you got me intruiged even if it was just some hypothetical thought exchange. Thank you too for the feedback in general and definitely will hook on further works of yours.

    I hadn’t connected that (in s1-2) Hannibal tends to wear his most laid back outfits in the kitchen, where he’s being most himself. It also made me think of his clear killing suit, it’s also a time he’s being entirely himself so it fits that it’s transparent; not hiding anything.
    Cool vid! I love to see Hannibal nbc being analyzed in 2024!

    • @Cassvrnt
      @Cassvrnt  4 месяца назад +9

      Hey! Thank you. ❤️‍🩹 I think Hannibal was being himself by killing, but he kept worrying about things of "little importance" (his well tailored person suit) that made him fall into a monotony, the feeling of emptiness (that he wasn't 100% him). What brought him back was meeting Will, a partner to share his "hobbies" with. Like when you believe you're fine until you meet someone who drastically changes your world and makes you think "Oh, I was missing THIS".
      But well, we're only speculating.

  • @srijantandon2698
    @srijantandon2698 3 месяца назад +13

    This is a fascinating analysis and so apt, given the show's devotion to aesthetics. I saw Hannibal's perfectly tailored and crisp suits as a perfect extension of his "true" self. The monster yearns to be seen. He considers himself above humankind, eating the rude, every life expendable (except one) to satiate his desires and sense of control. The tailored suit, with its connotations of power, control, elegance and wisdom, presents the ideal man. It's not a mask of his 'vulgarity' or brutality, it a socially acceptable display of his remarkable being, the closest any living person will come to knowing and seeing Hannibal Lector

    Woah. This was brilliant. It was truly pleasant to read and watch. That WAS some good analysis! Although acknowledging how they changed and its sole fact make me ache at how the world, the society and our own humanity is shaping and transforming us (terrifyingly yet beautifully so), I find a bit of comfort in them, albeit an inconvinient and unsettling one. The video is highly appreciated and I'm glad to see there are people who analyze such matters so complexly. A shame there aren't many people to discuss them with anymore.

    where did you learn how to analyze films and tv like this, and how can I learn how to do it for myself and make analysis videos like these?

    • @Cassvrnt
      @Cassvrnt  4 месяца назад +7

      I've always enjoyed analyzing things, people, and situations in general. Love philosophy, psychology... but I don't have any formal degree in any, so: it CAN be done even without previous studies or solid knowledge.
      • Look for critiques or reviews of other people who have been doing it longer. Essay analysis, papers about it, too. Your brain will start picking up things.
      • Try giving a reinterpretation of what you read or see. It might not always come to mind at first glance, but it often happens.
      • Your conclusions don't have to be 100% right, whether the idea makes sense or not... etc. It's your perception. The main point here is to put it into practice.
      + Also, not to be so literal, e.g., Hannibal takes off his suit to cook because he's obviously going to get his clothes dirty. It's true, but we're looking for metaphorical or figurative language (symbolism).
      + Take notes. You might want to revisit your thoughts later on. Ideas came fast: take notes even if you think you won't forget it.
      I hope it was helpful to someone... somehow (lol)

    Make sure to use voiceover for your analysis. Otherwise text-only limits your audience. I had to turn it off early because I wasn’t able to follow the subtitles while I was multitasking.

    This is a fantastic analysis, you picked up on something crucial I never noticed even if I was watching intently and paying attention. Good video
    This show to me, is a fictionalised dramatisation of the human condition through the lens of our modern world.
