"How much does it cost to swap a new edge with a Coyote, grab a sandwich and let's dive in." One of the most American intro's I've heard. I love it. Keep up with the great content!
Is it that expensive tho? You buy a nice GT/V6 for like 5 grand. You swap that Coyote engine in there. And you get yourself a very cool ride for a little more than 11 grand. You will spend WAY more on a stock 2 valve to at least wake it up. There are 350Z's for sale for more than 25 friggin grand. That's a very good swap indeed.
Johnny Langton went 12.98 with a *3800* lb thunderbird with non pi heads, a pi intake manifold, and pi camshafts through the 4r70 auto. He had less in his combo than a lot of peoples pi swaps and drove the car as well as towed a trailer with it. Fwiw, 4v swaps can make the power of a stock coyote for way less money but do you "need" the power for the goals? Ive seen stock aviator engines dyno over 360whp in a gt only mod being off-shelf comp 106100's. You dont need 350whp to have fun in a sn95, or new edge
@@madmod I’m not saying it’s the best buy imaginable, I’m just saying it is not a bad way to spend your money at all. You are going to spend a lot more on a nice Mach I/Cobra with that 4v engine. You are not getting anything better for 11 grand.
The 70 thumbs downs come from people that cant handle the truth! Engine swaps are fun, but they're not free. but the Coyote swap appears to be relatively affordable as far as engine swaps go, for the level of power you get! Great Video!
A 4v 5.4 is much cheaper, and can make similar power to the coyote, plus more torque. A remanufactered one is about $3,500. Or pull one out of a 99-04 Navigator
Easily 10K in parts doing it the right way, plus price of car if needs to be purchased and probably labor hours. At least a 20K project , and this is not adding any performance parts. I would love to own a fox with a coyote swap tho. One day!!! I will. Btw you guys do amazing work keep up the good work 👍🏼👍🏼
My cousin had an 04 gt 2v 4.6. pretty sure the motor was slightly build. Procharged, intercooled, methanol injected, made 530 whp. Probly cost way more than 5k. And that was back in 2009
Thanks man, I have a 97 mustang gt manual transmission which recently had a weird engine issue and since the motor has to come out I have been considering just coyote swapping it.
On the black new edge I’m curious to know what transmission y’all put in that car. You mentioned what could work just curious what one you put in that car.
Hi how I wish I could still walk, being a crippled DVET, who was a master at one time, it hurts not being able to wrench..I’ve even got a climate controlled 5k SQF garage , and it’s a parking lot,and dog play area when it rains, lol..
I didn’t want a sandwich as that would take my attention from the video! That is not a bad price at all and I really love how the new edge build came along. That thing sounds mean! Can we get some more video of that car? Maybe some dyno time, fly by’s and quarter mile??
This video is over a year ago so my question is are you satisfied with the Coyote swap? And have you had any kind of problems with the Coyote engine after a year of finishing the project?
It can be done but it's just as difficult as it would be in a fox body. It works easier and cheaper with 96 up because you can use the same trans (5speed) same brake booster same motor mounts etc. It literally drops right in where if you have an older 5 liter from 1995 and back it requires all that stuff to be replaced on top of all the stuff he went over in the video
Man I really wanna do a swap to get that better hp and torque to start with. But I just really would feel more accomplished murdering out a 4.6 to over 500
I wonder if I could put a coyote in a 63 falcon ? I know anything is possible, but is it really something I should consider ? By the way it’s a completely stock , 170 cubic inch straight six car . Advice me .
There's a 02 GT body for sale everything is there except for the motor and he only wants 700 for it and it's mint condition almost it's been kept in the garage until the sun took the motor and put it inside of a Subaru
I believe Caleb added a 2018 intake manifold, CAI and I believe something else to get that number. He uploaded a video on this channel of his car on the dyno.(Scram Speed)
bigpeterockfan1 my 2012 coyote has the 18 manifold, full exhaust and Lund racing tune and I doubt it makes 430 to the tire. I don’t doubt it can be done but it can’t be done for the price he said.
And another question would be that I’m in restrictive CA and would have to deal with CARB. I’m assuming this wouldn’t be possible for my Mach 1 since there are no CA legal Long tube headers and you said it’s a requirement? Please enlighten me if you have any possible knowledge regarding CA legal coyote swap because I’d love to do it to my Mach 1 and be Smog and street legal
Since you used a truck motor , I can see you swapped out the intake, but did you change the cams out at all and make those dyno numbers? Or used the stock f150 cams still in it?
bottom line take your budget take it add 10k unless your doing junkyard parts, gen1 bad oil pump shafts and gen2 trucks have the oil squirters over cams gen 3 brand new with trans and control pack ecu $10,565
I’m currently working on my 98 GT and I came accross a Gen 3 coyote with 10R80 on LMR for about $18k, any opinions on that and if it’s a good deal? I do all the work to my car but I’m still learning as I go 😊
Thanks for starting off saying the price and not being like other people and making us wait thru a 32 min video
I approve this message 👍 the man got to the point and then explained the details 👌
Right? This guy gets straight to the point, that’s what I like!
As most of us know, this information is priceless. Thanks so much!
fr thanks

180 hp puts you in another category baseline. Because you can add on top of that with power adders or just plain bolt ons like ‘18 intake etc
Justin L Facts! This build has an ‘18 intake, but a ‘15 - ‘17 engine cover ✊🏾

@@sarmatiancougar7556 I can source four valve 99 tumble Port engines for less than $500 with better cams than a Mach One.
You gave the price right away I still watched the whole video. Very informative and straight to the point. Thanks man great vid.
This was far more enjoyable than the Foxcast videos fr9m the past. Like Joe Friday used to say “Just the fact, just the facts”.
The 70 thumbs downs come from people that cant handle the truth! Engine swaps are fun, but they're not free. but the Coyote swap appears to be relatively affordable as far as engine swaps go, for the level of power you get! Great Video!
Man didn't bullshit and told us the price upfront. Earned a sub just from that.

But the 2V sound sooo good!!!
I thought I was the only one 🤙🏽
it really does!
@@EDeeire Lol not even close to the only one. The 2v is iconic, one of the best sounding ford engines ever made.
JustDrive4Life Meh, 4V 03-04 cobras sound much better imo
gustavo761 Well they got that supercharger whine so of course 😁.

Thanks for the great info Caleb!
Sold. Selling my jeep and doing this!

Nah I would say its not worth it cuz of the year lol it would very better and have more value If it was a 99-04☝
On the black new edge I’m curious to know what transmission y’all put in that car. You mentioned what could work just curious what one you put in that car.
The best video about swapping on RUclips . Btw I have a 96 automatic 😔
Nice information. I'm working on 40th anniversary do guys think 20's are to big?
Been waiting for this vid. Thank you for the information. Ur crew does awesome work. Can't wait for the next project
Glad to help bud!
Yeah I just redid my 2v about 6 months ago. But thinking about a coyote swap now.
What about the auto lovers is it that same or more / differences
Any people in Sacramento ca that wanna do this swap? I need some friends 😂
I have a 92 GT drop and no smog in my county where she is... cheeper and can get same HP with a 351
Btw I live in California Calaveras County
Hi how I wish I could still walk, being a crippled DVET, who was a master at one time, it hurts not being able to wrench..I’ve even got a climate controlled 5k SQF garage , and it’s a parking lot,and dog play area when it rains, lol..
I like how he gets to the point and gives the price. Question ?? Cost on a swap for a 1976 f100
Raul Americano 12-15k
Did you cut the oil pan and weld it again in order to fit? Because mine won’t just go in because of the small curved pump in the middle of the pan!
Very well done. I have a foxbody but you got me sold on the a new edge , cobra r clone.
It probably costs a lot more today.
Great info Caleb Thanks!
I didn’t want a sandwich as that would take my attention from the video! That is not a bad price at all and I really love how the new edge build came along. That thing sounds mean! Can we get some more video of that car? Maybe some dyno time, fly by’s and quarter mile??
Top Down Toads Ha ha! Dyno, maybe; 1/4 mile, nah! I baby my ‘Stang! Don’t give these guys any ideas!
Need more on the exhaust but what gauges are those & I mean do they come with the white led?
You're a legend thanks for your videos man.
I was wondering if that price includes 04 mach 1s aswell?
I appreciate this video man. Explained everything perfect
This video is over a year ago so my question is are you satisfied with the Coyote swap? And have you had any kind of problems with the Coyote engine after a year of finishing the project?
Swap 2005 2010 Mustang GT next
I wonder how much different it would be to do a 98 F150 with a 4.6
New edge is way to go now . Look better the the fox . Cheaper and less rust .
I’m curios about a 1995 manual V8 🤔
It can be done but it's just as difficult as it would be in a fox body. It works easier and cheaper with 96 up because you can use the same trans (5speed) same brake booster same motor mounts etc. It literally drops right in where if you have an older 5 liter from 1995 and back it requires all that stuff to be replaced on top of all the stuff he went over in the video
Great video, informative, honest.
Do the same rules apply to a 99 through 04 Crown Victoria with a T45 swap
@Elliott Feaster what about in a 1997 crownvictoria?
That’s such a cool car! I’ll rather have it than a new S550.
I’m a Chevy rider, why am I even here? Oh yeah, my bro just sold me his 97 GT with 130k mile for $600. Great videos bro.
@foxcast media where are in NC are you bro?
94 sn95 automatic
Can I swap engines if I own a 2003 GT 2v automatic transmission?
Ok guys I need some advice. I just got a 04 GT and I’m looking to do a swap. Terminator or coyote?? What’s best? What price range is the terminator?
What about the 99 base coup (not the GT)
I have an 02 mustang gt with a t45 transmission with a stage one clutch and a light weight fly wheel, will this transmission work for a coyote swap?
Very solid informative video 👍
Man I really wanna do a swap to get that better hp and torque to start with. But I just really would feel more accomplished murdering out a 4.6 to over 500
How does it work with state emissions, and regulation
I wonder if I could put a coyote in a 63 falcon ? I know anything is possible, but is it really something I should consider ? By the way it’s a completely stock , 170 cubic inch straight six car . Advice me .
Dam it man. Got me very interested in this swap...
There's a 02 GT body for sale everything is there except for the motor and he only wants 700 for it and it's mint condition almost it's been kept in the garage until the sun took the motor and put it inside of a Subaru
exactly what i want to build
A stock truck coyote engine won’t make 430 to the tire though. They made 390 bone stock.
James Jacobs Gotcha
What about a crown Victoria auto :/
What about a 97’ f150? 4r70 transmission?
You would have to buy a stand alone controller to run it
Good video my dude appreciate it
Sooo.. could I do this easily to an 89? The foxbody was my favorite :s
You can run the stock k member?
Nice job!
me watching this with a v6 new edge saving up for the swap
What’s involved in wiring up the AC to work.
And another question would be that I’m in restrictive CA and would have to deal with CARB. Please enlighten me if you have any possible knowledge regarding CA legal coyote swap because I’d love to do it to my Mach 1 and be Smog and street legal
But I want to swap a Honda k series in a mustang gt.
blasphemous! you can't put a piece of modern marvel into a horse carriage
Dang this was a pleasant video to watch
Do you have a similar video for a Foxbody?
can you put the fox body mustang 5.0 engine in one?
R those seat covers on the seats ?
thanks for the info! great video!
Hey
cross pumper must be changed??
I want to do this but with a ford galaxie500
What about a fox body ?
You didn’t have to do anything to the rearend as far as the gears?
So is that the whole swap I buy all this and install it all and it’s turn key
Can you do a 95 just regular
How did you guys route up the evap system if you did put it on
Is the Holley terminator x coyote kit as good of an option as the control pack. And yes I have tuned Holley before so that’s not part of the question.
Damn I just sold my E350 for less than a coyote engine alone. Could have done a 351W!
Since you used a truck motor , I can see you swapped out the intake, but did you change the cams out at all and make those dyno numbers? Or used the stock f150 cams still in it?
If i do the swap and supercharg it, will i need a stronger rear end and drive shaft?
What about a 95 GTS manual? big difference in price?
May be less. Depends
GTS is a rare car dont chop one up please... lol
Can you do this if it’s automatic?
What about a 1994 mustang gt manual
How much would you charge me (out the door) to swap my 2003 mustang gt.
What hp will you make at the wheel with a 2013 f150 5.0 motor
Does the control pack eliminate the stock ecu for the new edge. Mine got fried. Not sure if I’m also going to need a new one with the swap
So there’s no way to put that motor on a automatic 2002 mustang gt ?
what about labor how much do you guys charge to do this swap??
bottom line take your budget take it add 10k unless your doing junkyard parts, gen1 bad oil pump shafts and gen2 trucks have the oil squirters over cams gen 3 brand new with trans and control pack ecu $10,565
Mmm Kay
I need to find the price for a v6 manual
Will that motor bolt to a 2004 automatic transmission? Gt
I’m currently working on my 98 GT and I came accross a Gen 3 coyote with 10R80 on LMR for about $18k, any opinions on that and if it’s a good deal? I do all the work to my car but I’m still learning as I go 😊
Can you swap gen 3 into mustang 2000?
Can you tell me how was it and do you recommend
Reliable enough daily driver?
Edit: Is it better to Tremec swap as well or could I just rebuild the transmission?
Did he just use a t45 trans on the 5.0
Hey guys I'm looking at doin this swap for my 2003 Mach 1. Can u do the swap if I brought my car up to ya?
I live in Cali bro how would I do it for smog 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
