I do think he took a bit of advantage of her. if she had met a good man he wouldve shown her there was another way. he would've gained evidence and gone to the cops and rescued her in that way instead of supporting her idea that murder was the only way out. a part of him wanted to experience that, he wanted to he the dominant one and he found a weak, broken girl to dominate and push around

      @Mandi C actually he doesnt have an extremely low IQ. he was mid 80s. Average IQ in the US is 83-115. as far as the autism spectrum, they werent positive as to the level that he had. I know many who are on the spectrum and go to college, hold down very good jobs, have families and live a normal life. and let me add, NEVER could be talked into killing someone. No, he was not taken advantage of. I never said she was mentally challenged. but she was in an extreme situation that she felt there was no other way out. someone who is desperate can be taken advantage of bc they're willing to do anything to get out of what they're in. Defense tried to claim he had all these issues, they were unsubstantiated.

    People keep forgetting, yes he killed this lady, but Gypsy seemed him out and created a friend and sexually relationship with this man in order to get him to help her out this hell hole. she did not do it for any other reason. I don't think he deserves life. I feel he would never have murdered anyone with her asking him to do it. he was crazy kept under wraps, but she bought it out by asking him to kill her mother. she should have gotten the same sentence, even though she was a victim of her mom. she wasn't crazy, many ways she could have gotten out that situation without ruining someone else life, she is not Innocent

    • @jordanleigh8826
      @jordanleigh8826 5 лет назад +19

      She wanted friendship, she was lonely and only really interacted with her mother. She was abused and used by her mom throughout her whole life. When she met Nicholas he showed her attention and gave her someone to talk to other than her mom. He taught her about BDSM and I think she went along with it because she wanted a relationship with someone other than her mom, she wanted to please him and would let him control her and that goes back to her relationship with her mom, that's all she's ever known.that's normal to her. If it wasn't her mom he murdered it'd be another person who gave him that control.

      Felecia Davis She did not set out to find someone to murder her mom. That's not what the evidence supports at all. They dated online for 3 years. They talked for 2 years before she ever asked him to murder her mom, and that was after he told her had violent alternate personalities that were interest in killing... She tried introducing him to her mom, went the huge lengths to make him look nice by sending him clothes and everything, so he'd make a good first impression. Unfortunately that didn't work and instead her mom hated him and even smacked her in the face at the movie theater.

    I can’t help but feeling so sorry for Nick , his life is ruined for ever, he has to spend the rest of his life in jail, Gipsy will be free at 32 and she even has a new bf. Good for her , but why does he have to spend his life in jail when if it wasn’t for him probably Gipsy now would have been dead ? Let’s not forget that that monster of Dee Dee was destroying Gipsy health , with all those unnecessary treatments, I have no doubt that Gipsy sooner or later would have succumb to her mother abuses . They should give Nick psychological help and let him free , with supervision , but for godsake give him a second chance . He doesn’t deserve to spend the rest of his life in jail . He’s not an aggressive person.

    I've seen a whole lot of comments of people expressing their disbelief over Nicholas' sentence and how he should be institutionalized as opposed to imprisoned. And I get that. But from what I've gathered from the HBO documentary, as well as from these trial videos, there was WAY too many moving parts that he had complete control over for him to NOT to commit this murder. One of those things being his description of this alter ego 'Victor' and expressing an awareness of this personality being very violent and enjoying the act of killing. Not Nicholas' exact words, but pretty much his sentiment. And then Nicholas expressing his desire to rape Dee Dee. Such violence doesn't speak of Asperger's or mental illness, but accountability. Someone can have one or both of these diagnoses, but that doesn't make unaccountable for premeditated actions. If there were actual pictures on the Internet showing Dee Dee's stab wounds (especially the one to her neck) and an autopsy report, most people might feel different as far as supporting Nicolas not being in jail. This is not a popular opinion, but it is mine's: In Nicholas' case, justice has been fully served.

      The TV series to act kind of touches on this but there's a little more detail in the BuzzFeed article. At a science fiction convention she did meet an older man I can't remember how old he was I want to say 35 but he was in his mid-20s to mid-30s (sorry part of me is thinking 25 but I'm pretty sure it was 35). Now keep in mind at this convention she was actually of legal age she just didn't know it she was either 18 or 19 but her mom still had her convinced that she was 14 or 15. Anyway you can find in him what was going on at some point in the convention but regardless of when that happened he had invited her to his hotel room where her mom subsequently tracked her down and provided the man with documents stating she was a minor (because remember, Mom said the birth certificate was destroyed in Katrina)1 anyway mom provided documentation that was legit at least in his mind saying Gypsy Rose was not of legal age and the man had her leave his hotel room and go with her mom and from what I understand there was nothing more whereas in the ACT they show her running away and temporarily staying with him but I'm apt to believe that in depth BuzzFeed article. If you get a chance I highly suggest reading it. It's a long read and you have to buckle up but it's worth it, imo

    • @MusicLeeSarah

      Also the documentary mommy dead and dearest seems to be pretty accurate and they touch on it in there as well. So it looks like she had some kind of interaction of an intimate type or an interaction leading up to some kind of intimacy with one previous man but it was kind of almost spur of the moment whereas with Nick it was more of a long-term virtual communication. So she kind of had one other boyfriend but kind of not.

      Kbell I know, he seems so happy to see everyone. Maybe they keep him locked up in and isolation room 24/7 except when he presides over a court case and that’s the only time he has any human interaction 😄

      On one of these videos you can see the judge handing down Nicholas' sentence. He just does it in a direct, but empathetic (in my opinion) fashion. Before the sentencing Nicholas and his legal team had to already have known that this sentence was what he was facing.

    While women do inherit 50% of their DNA from each parent, men inherit about 51% from their mother and only 49% from their father. I suspect epigenetic transgenerational inheritance will have played a roll and will continue have an impact too .

    After hearing these texts, and watching Nick’s interrogation, I believe there is no way this kid is autistic. In my opinion, he presents as classic Asperger’s, which is on the autism spectrum. However, these two disorders are very different! I guess the defense thinks that saying Nick is autistic will elicit more sympathy from the jury. All around, this is a very sad case. There are many victims, not just Dee Dee.

      They are not different at all. In fact, the Asperger’s diagnosis has been dropped from psychology and psychiatry.
