I am Tangata te whenua & moments like this give me the ultimate tingles. My Grandparents were from Scotland to New Zealand & my Dad was raised this way & he planted it in me! It's the most passionate powerful thing in the world.
@@KennyVee I speak Dutch and I can tell you that this has got absolutely nothing to do with tikanga Māori. This is a group of Belgians mocking the culture and being extremely rude
Haka is inclusive. NZ has changed. When I was at high school Maori culture was a joke. It was spot the Maori. But yet from day one everyone learned not to mess with us Maori boy’s. We united in the South.
I love seeing all brother and sisters partake in our haka. It was never a thing back in the day but now, WOW ! Yesssss, anyone who dwells in Aotearoa whether they’re Chinese or Indian and want to embrace our culture, absolutely ! Nau Mai Haere Mai.
I'm brazilian and I'm absolutely passionate about this dance and culture in general. I wish that here in Brazil we were connected with our ancestors native people like this, paying respect and preserving their memories, mas unfortunately this is not what happen 😔
i’ve just learned about Haka today through a random video and boy am i glad i did. this is so damn cool and puts me in awe. I’m American but the way Haka is performed even makes me feel proud! respect!
I look forward to the day when the Canadian fIrst nation's people and culture are as integrated and respected here as our Kiwi cousins have achieved. I found the pride and passion of the PNBHS students very moving. Kia ora Palmerston North Boys' High School!
This is an amazing cultural event! I am truly drawn to the Haka because I support people celebrating their cultures as much as they can. I'm in New Hampshire, USA. Historically about as white as you can get. However, there are many cultures that are beginning to establish here, and I think it's wonderful! In my area we have a thriving Indonesian culture, a small but growing Mexican culture and I'm hoping for more. I love and appreciate people from cultures different than mine because I enjoy learning about them, partaking of their food and cooking their culture's food myself!
As an American, I can't help but be a little jealous when I see other people's cultures and traditions. America is this muddled gray area of diluted cultures, so growing up surrounded by no culture to speak of I get jealous when I see others who did get to grow up with it. I love learning about other cultures, it's like getting to witness something I won't have.
Me too! I'm a woman but when I watch the haka (with which I'm not even remotely connected or associated) I feel this intense urge to jump up from my couch, stand straight and beat my chest in honor of something or someone I do not even know of. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg this gave me goosebumps .. but the men look more sexy looking scary .. it is just me lol.. no seriously I absolutely love watching these would love to experience this in my lifetime ❤❤❤❤❤❤

So proud to be human when I see men honoring and fighting for their culture and history. Never change. Love you all. We will win!!
I love that they are fighting for their culture and heritage, but teaching it to others and including them in it. This is humanity at its finest.

Даже ритуалы надо окультуривать. В наше время всё должно выглядить эстетично и красиво. А так это просто дичь.

Yeah you should man !!!!! I have visited there years ago. The Maori Warrior Haka dance moves is still fond in my memories till today.
I wish they had including more shots of the young man in the wheelchair. I love the inclusiveness of Haka. It was lovely to see even a snippet of him.

The level of respect shown here is great to see. The Haka is something truly powerful and great.
If only you knew what they were actually saying... rhyming "haka" with the Dutch word for shit, generally mocking hakas
So proud of you all ♥️
