phew! firstly, i'm so sorry about the lack of uploads these past few weeks. truth be told, i've started hating my singing. recording is a struggle, not only because of my hateful mentality towards my abilities but also because winter really makes my asthma hard to deal with. however, i feel like i owe everyone an upload. so, i thought i'd revisit an old favourite of mine and write some english lyrics for usseewa :) i'll try my best to keep more consistent uploads going from here on forth (biweekly at least!)
i never thought i'd be able to translate usseewa to do this cover but im so glad i gave it a try !! usseewa has to be one of my favourite songs to sing ever -- the way you can play with the way you sing it to convey the emotions is literally so so so fun!
that being said, i worry that i might not have been able to put enough emotion into my singing here. i feel like it's lacking, even despite the five files i have of different recordings of this version of the song. i think i might just find it easier to replicate the emotion when im singing in the same language as the original!
that said, i sincerely hope you enjoy my english cover of usseewa! thank you so much to those who helped make it possible! show em the love they deserve!

The YT algorithm is really shitty to make it so people have to upload constantly to get boosted by it ,and making creators feel like they have to upload so frequently in order to keep up with its unforgiving pace. Most people from our community agree that quality comes first before quantity, and your hard work and talents you've shown off with time are so much more than enough to give to the world to make up for few uploads according to an unforgiving algorithm. Winter is a complicated season, both physically and mentally, so it's best not to try to do too much, especially with a chronic illness such as asthma, or any other breathing problem
As some people have already said, you don't owe anyone any uploads, sing for yourself first, and everyone can say that quality > quantity (except the youtube algorithm, it seems)
No one will blame you if you don't upload regularly, and people will still be there when you'll upload something
If you can and really want to upload regularly, go ahead, but there's no point in putting too much pressure on yourself
The cover is clean, the lyrics are clean, and oh my god I love those growls
There's nothing to be worried about at all
If you suddenly start to have a complex about your singing, maybe it's a sign that you're getting better? (Experience makes you see your mistakes more easily, you can't stand your old covers because you've evolved so much since then that they sound bad now - doesn't mean they are, or anything like that?)
Or it's another winter effect and you just have to take it easy for the season
There's not really much else you can do about it, except maybe some warm-ups and vocal exercises (I thought I read somewhere that you weren't doing any, tell me if I'm wrong)
There's no need to do a lot of it and it can radically change the rendering (so knowing that it's already very good without it, I let you imagine with it)
All that to say: You're doing great, take care of yourself and we'll be there to listen no matter how long the silences are between each sound

I really love the way you write your lyrics, it’s almost like it’s slang, like most songs these days, but holds a certain amount of meaning and a kinda nostalgic feeling. Ok out of all the English lyrics I've heard for this song, these are definitely my favorite. They both capture the original spirit of the song while being really solid on their own. one of my favorite covers of this song, the lyrics are near perfect for an english cover while still preserving the original version's meaning. one thing i do dislike is that its not 'aggressive' sounding enough vocally wise (though thats more of a me thing since having more of a growl and ferocity in it would make it hit harder i think)

i really like how there's the use of slang in the song if that makes sense. it feels a lot more informal instead of poetic which fits with the song to me? dunno if that makes sense ahahhhh

"shut your trap" has the same number of syllables as "usseewa" and fits phonetically too ough. it's probably my favorite translation for the title till now...
leaving some notes nobody really asked for but that i wanted to point out, hope they are not a bother:
- the slightly extended "ha" at 0:27 sounds like a bit of a laugh, as if you're laughing sarcastically over the fact "no-one ever thought [you] wanted a happy life"
- the "ck" sound on "lock" at 0:49 sounds like a clicking sound... it's a nice little detail!
- "basic, boring, bland". that alliteration followed by "stale", which is a word that's completely different, not to mention its rhymes with "fail"... i really like this line in particular
- the "but" at 1:30 has a breathy feel that kinda feels as if you're loading a gun? and then at 1:35 it feel as if you shot that gun you just loaded. that's actually amazing
- actually the breathing throughout the song also helps a lot to emphasize things iunno it just feels like they were placed on the right time...
- the last "crude" at 3:00, the focus you put on that "rrr" fits so well... 💥
not sure of how much this was intentional or not but gosh the delivery on this cover's really enjoyable and works super well with the lyrics!
