Most interesting, if you stayed after the premier to watch the interview with Liz Tabish (Mary), is that Mary throwing her arms around Yeshua was NOT scripted! The power of the emotion of the scene just made her instinctively do it. If the scene is that powerful for actors portraying Mary and Yeshua, can you imagine what it will be like when we actually see our real Yeshua face-to-face!?!?!

If we will see His face then I urge that (if you're in the Catholic religion) you come out of her, and come to the true Lord and Savior, and become a real Christian, do not be draged into a pit, by your blind priests who you call "father"..."the blind lead the blind and they both fall into the ditch" please I urge you. If you do not come out of that false religion you will perish, there is no purgatory, and you won't be sobbing on "mother Mary's" shoulder, that is blasphemy. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, not by you're deed but by His finished work on behalf of you.

Note that Matthew who is particular about cleanliness, averse to germs, and all things dirty, somehow is not averse to reaching out to Mary even as she is vomitting. He did what He had to do regardless of who liked it or not. Being somewhat timid myself and sometimes afraid of hurting people's feelings, it's been good to see Jesus not being a doormat. “Progress, not perfection.”
We will never achieve perfection. It’s simply not possible. However, that does not mean you give up. You must strive towards progress, and growth. If you stop growing… well, a plant that ceases to grow is no longer living.

Hi Chad. Please let me encourage you a little. Jesus said that we can find perfection in this life and can do so humbly. He said in fact that we should expect to "be perfect as he is perfect" with his help of course. He also, speaking through John said that we are "finished with sin" and should not expect ourselves to ever sin again. When we do he is quick to forgive us and make our record perfect again, but all the better when we don't miss the mark at all. You can do it Chad! Don't give yourself room to fail. Expect yourself to succeed with Jesus' help and in his name! You can do it!

So, how's that working out for you? Are you living a perfect, sinless life? If you think you are, you're delusional and deceived. Check out 1 John chapter 1. Who did John write this letter to? Christians!!
The Apostle Paul wrote about fighting his flesh. It was a major struggle for him! The sinful nature is not done away with at being born again. We lose the the sinful nature when we get our glorified body. Until then, this is the battle we all fight daily. We win battles, and sometimes we lose some. But, Jesus won the war for us! This is why we need the gift of forgiveness for the sins we commit as Christians. Did you catch what Jesus said? He knows we can't live our lives perfectly! All He wants from us is our hearts! And we take life one day at a time! What's Jesus's shed blood for? Not just for salvation, but also to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. After all, He paid the debt for all sin, past, present, and future! That's what makes Him a wonderful Savior! That shed blood sets us free from the slavery to sin! We are free to choose!

@@kathierouse5306 I am not permissive of sin in my life. Temptation and failure come for sure, but I make not allowance nor excuse for them. You've made no point is recognizing that he (Jesus speaking through John) was talking to Christians. Of course he was, and he was expecting perfection. Paul's struggle was real of course. Major? No more than any other. When did Jesus say that we can't live our lives perfectly? That never happened. Are you referring to The Chosen? If so then you have become part of the problem. The Chosen is mostly make believe. He wants far more than your heart. He wants everything or he will take nothing. "to cleanse us from All unrighteousness". I'm sorry that you don't feel like he's powerful enough to help you live a righteous life now. You seem to anticipate your sin. There is not one verse in all of The Bible that suggests that yours is a reasonable Christian perspective. He does indeed forgive endlessly, but all the better if we like Paul, demand better of ourselves and choose Jesus over sin. Of course it's possible. It's like choosing to eat cake instead of excrement. No one would have a problem with that. What sin do you still so enjoy that you expect to choose it over Jesus? I don't have one. I choose him...easily.

    • @CrankyGrandma

Progress not perfection….yes. I was thinking that as I watched as well. I learned years ago that the word Jesus used when He said “be perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” is not our common use of the word. In Greek the connotation is “perfect for the job”. Think about needing a screwdriver to put cabinets together. You have a fancy shiny new screwdriver but it’s the wrong size. So you root around in the tool box and find a rusty old screwdriver with a broken handle. But it fits! So you can build your cabinets. And you say “that’s perfect”. THAT is the meaning of the word “perfect” Jesus used. Not flawless. But made for a purpose and perfect for the job to which you were called.

I agree with you, Samantha! I, too, wish that more research had been done on who the Pharisees actually were and where they came from. I have seen the conversations Dallas had with the 3 clergymen. What I don't understand is why Rabbi Jason, nor Doug, went into greater detail.
Dallas has this idea that the Pharisees were really not all that bad, that they weren't villains. The truth is, they made the claim that if people just obeyed the Traditions of the Elders, that would be considered the fulfillment of the Torah.
I would also like to point out the wrath of the Pharisees. Was their hostility justified? Were they right in accusing Jesus of breaking the sabbath and the Torah?
One more question...in John chapters 10-11, Jesus said the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy the sheep. Who was actually the thief? If we look at this in context, Jesus was addressing the Pharisees! He pointed out that they were the thieves!
Want to know more? I recommend a video on RUclips channel called Steven Kozar. He has dialogue with Pastor Chris Rosebrough regarding the Pharisees and their real identity. It's very interesting and eye opening! I learned some things I was never taught. Wow! I have listened to their video several times, and as I think about what they said, a lot of passages of Scripture start to make more sense to me. I feel lights coming on inside of me!
Please don't get me wrong, I dearly love The Chosen show. It's marvelous and magnificent! But I seriously believe that people need to know the real background of the Pharisees, then everything makes sense! Please let me know your thoughts and opinions. 😊👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏🙏

please tell me if this idea seems valid: As Jesus walks into the synagogue, the rabbi is talking about how a person who is in, or the offspring of, a forbidden marriage (a Jew marrying a Gentile) should not be allowed into the assembly of the Lord, even to the 10th generation. The rabbi doesn't realize it but he's actually talking about the lineage of Jesus, whose ancestors include Rahab from Jericho and the Moabite Ruth, who were ancestors also of King David and King Solomon. I sense that the actor Jesus is reacting subtly to this comment as he slowly proceeds into the center of the assembly to find the man with the withered hand. This isn't going to stop Jesus' greater purpose for being there at that time.

Agreed...the lineage of Jesus...and when the Rabbi asks Jesus what's wrong with him (that he would interrupt the service AND heal someone on the Sabbath), Jesus replied, "Apparently, everything!" I loved that because it said to me, they were condemning him for having someone from Moab in his lineage, they misunderstood the truth of why God created the Sabbath, they were willing for a man to stay without the use of his hand rather than see him healed on the Sabbath..."everything" Jesus was about, they objected to. And they're so blind they don't see it. Good lesson for us - don't be so blind in our tradition that we miss the truth!

    The Chosen S2: E6
    It's interesting....
I came across several posts, mentioning this observation.
    Ruth was from Moab..
a Moabite (considered a Gentile) After they married, Ruth bore Boaz a son named Obed, the future father of Jesse, who would become the father of King David.
    In The Chosen S2:E6..
towards the end of the Episode...when Jesus & his disciples enter the small tabernacle...
the Pharisee reading the scroll is listing out all the tribes/peoples
(..."no Moabite"...) that are forbidden to "enter the Assembly
    of the Lord...forever".
    skip to the end >>>>
as they are leaving, the Pharisees are screaming at Jesus....
    what is wrong w/you!?
    And Jesus replies sarcastically:
    "Apparently everything."
    probably refers to his
lineage, that the Pharisees "deemed" unworthy (if they knew)
A lineage that included Ruth, a Moabite, one of Jesus's Gentile ancestors, showed that Christ came to save all people.
