since both boards are fixed now, the only way to avoid the BITLOCKER thingy is to put back the original board and make sure that secure boot mode is set as enabled. That way, the bitlocker wont pop up coz the keys are stored in the original board.
I am very sorry about what happened to your old channel Sorin, I rarely subscribe but this time I subscribed just to show you support. I hope this time they don't do the same thing they did to your old channel.
Hello Sorin! Just watched your "creator bug" vid. Wow, what a shame the way YT does those who make their platform what it is. I'll be on all you channels....hope this goes well and you'll do better than ever across all your channels!!
what a briliant mind you are that to predect that the other bourd have the same issue , and make a senario for the reason and check your senario and its true, the componenets are printed in the back as you gussed, he smached the keybourd, amazing minde set, you are like a detective 😀😀😀😀
This is insane. At least it should be reported to company that their back plate is damaging the mother board. Their selection of cheep materiel is costing people money. But happy for your luck break what an easy fix.
This is a budget model, they will just ignore it, hell even in the expensive models lenovo ignores problems, the early x1 carbons were horrible and had failures on the exact same spot.
Experience pays off. What can be used there to protect the board from future mechanical damages? Maybe a thin thermal pad? Are the thermal pads isolators or they conduct electricity and can create a short? Asking for a friend*
@dionisienatea3137: In your browser type heating pad wiki. If you want to go deeper there are several articles related to the topic. You will also find thermal putty in gray, white and pink (laptop applications and game consoles mainly on the body of the Mosfets) but on the critical components (CPU, GPU, Chipset) apply excellent quality thermal grease as recommended in the description just below the image of this video (if necessary, click on "more") and choose My tools. Finally: The heating pad is NOT a metal therefore it DOES NOT conduct electricity. Its main function is to reduce the temperature caused by the heat of the electric current on the electronic components. All the best. PS: I will gladly accompany maestro Sorin also on this channel.
I watched the full version of this, he place a thick thermal pad at end for fix also, I think maybe more obsoletion involved again with the manufacturer's though also, am suprised there was no glue😀
When speaking about a short in an electrical circuit, we mean that the flow of electrons is somehow taking a path that is shorter/easier/offers less resistance to go through, than it was intended by design. Thus, a short cut, a short. Ok, so now the circuit board is letting more current pass through itself than it is ment to. And when current flows, it heats up the components and traces which it is flowing through. And since the majority of electrons are taking the short cut, the component/trace where that short cut has occurred is getting hot. Which is why Sorin looks at the board through a thermal camera and then takes a closer look at the hot spots (potential short circuits).
So did you take out the capacitors on the board in the computer? Did you fix both boards or just change out the boards and send the other one back broke with the fixed computer? Thanks for the video.
Well its not so inconceivable if you realize they are trying to sell you new laptops and/or motherboards. There is a lot of people that wouldn't bother repairing their laptop, they'd just buy a new one. Welcome to capitalism and planned obsolescence.
Sorin just a small suggestion... place some tape on the multimeter beeper .. just to not kill ears :) i do that also to prevent new viewerse to stop watching videos for the noise.
@@10minlaptoprepairs oh.. never thinked about this. Well.. and what about lighting a red light when there is a small resistance? Or make a video on how to take the beeper signal to activate something else ?
It is asking for the bitlocker recovery key, because with windows 11, it has automatic bitlocker encryption to the ssd with windows 11 via the TPM(Trusted Platform Module), this occurs when you either replace the board or try recover the data with the ssd externally. Microsoft will not give you the bitlocker key whatsoever. Its their way of anti repair. They are ripping off the customer, same with apple. So makes it hard for the tech like Sorin to repair the device.

No need to answer, that's just bait to question the non metal = no electron flow theory.

just a beginner. I have a question, how Sorin able to see the shorted capacitor?
what tools needed for those tests?
You must have skipped this shortened video!

Sorry I just watched the laptop that was a dead CPU! Worth a watch!

I fixed this model 2 weeks ago and it had exactly same issue and same capacitor was shorted. Its a design flaw.
When the king goes, we the knights will follow... ALL HAIL THE KING of calibrated fuse 😁😁
Hi Sorin maybe put some heat pad on the components at back of board regards Jim
nicely done... almost all youtube on repair is a short cap...
new channel?
No capacitor, no problem, I hope you are right. :-D
I would assume the cap was doing some work?
For king and country!
The important part where you put thermal pads on that area where it touches the back cover is cut from the video. Not good

No caps no problem😂😂

If the customer has the email he can recover the key easily, OR just return the SSD to the original board.
