    I have been a 1000cc naked bike rider since I started in my 40’s. I was always careful with the throttle and brakes. Had a few slow fall overs but nothing bad. I got this 2024 390 as a light second bike. It’s new, with warranty and gas and service is very inexpensive. It is a great beginner bike and a super fun bike for experienced riders. It is a pocket rocket. It gives you all the power you would need with little chance of you getting too much because your wrist twisted the throttle too much. You have to rev it good if you need pass someone, but it has the power. You can keep up with bigger bikes on the back roads and you can go 65-85 on the highway. I think after 85-105 mph, the power delivery slows down. But 0-85 mph I think it always has good torque and power. I would like to get the 2024 990 but I think this 390 will always be a bike I would love to grab

    I am so glad i got the 2024 390 (this 3rd july) before getting any bigger bike. I HAVE had those moments when i gave it too much throttle in a bit muddy patch of road or while leaning and the rear started to spin but luckily all the safety features have saved me every single time and I am VERY glad to learn about those mistakes this way rather than falling or anything worse....

    The 2024 Duke 390 is also my first motorcycle. I love the bike, have taken one 180 mile round trip (highway) on it and I would concur that it isn't gonna be as comfortable as a cruiser for long road trips - but that's not why I picked it. I chose this as a first bike because it's light, nimble, has a good range of suspension adjustment and tech. After this beauty, the bikes at MSF about had me in tears lol. As far as highway stuff, I'm not super used to dealing with wind at 70 yet. My riding is mostly in town, lots of time spent skill building in parking lots, and am venturing out to highway speed a bit more after the 620 mile service was completed. I've been riding this bike almost daily and am planning to do so year round, barring actual snow on the ground.

    Up until now the reliability is an issue? those guys are not riding a KTM. It is easy for them to say it is not reliable 🤣
    I got 2020 duke 200 as my daily bike and few of long rides. It has 37k+ meters driven and still working perfectly fine. Still giving the power and fun on twisties and in traffic if need to overtake 🤣
    Proper maintenance is the key 🗝️ and don't be a s2pid on the road.

    Very nice video dude!! Got my license this week and during all this time I have appreciated a lot the small cc bikes. I was doing my lessons with a 649cc bike in my driving school but I was practicing my low speed maneuvers with an MT-03 in my free time. It was easier for me to learn how to ride a motorcycle on a low-cc bike. PLUS you gain a lot of confidence in these small rockets! Now I need to decide which motorcycle to buy. The MT-03 or the Duke 390. Both of them are amazing!

    The reason this bike is awesome is because it provides quality, technology at different levels, and the power needed to be comfortable at HIGH speeds...being up to 100 or so. I was somewhat surprised to see how quick he went from 50 to 70...seemed like 3 seconds or so. For a lighter rider like myself, I feel that bike would likely pull pretty well in 5th all the way up to well past highway speed then 6th gives that cruising gear that still gas the umph to pull in most situation without shifting down. They give a perfect cc size to power ratio as well. Would much rather this than say a honda 500 twin for sport riding. The cockpit on this bike is also VERY solid. Anyone know of any known issues or codes the bike gets? I read alot about newer bikes and electrical issues

    Have one of these & like a fool put as much $$ in aftermarket parts as the new bike cost 😆. Perfect bike for the city. Out of the city on weekends-can take it on winding roads as well, this thing is one fun little ride. Enough power to put a smile on your face without getting in trouble. Going through all the gears is fun, instead of risking jail time in 3rd gear. A few bikes in the garage-for me this is a keeper. Great to lend out to friends starting out too. Have fun and start small

    Honestly so hard to decide - I am considering myself a beginner even tho I do have experience but here is why, learned years ago how to ride on some 125cc, after that I tried some bikes from friends like honda transalp, vstrom, Ninja, gsxr etc.. I even owned yamaha dragstar 650 (either bike is not for me or 650cc is too much for the beginner especially it being over 240kg in weight, and streets in my country aren't that good, I now think that bike is more for wide USA roads) I even had an accident on it as I didn't have experience, emergency happened and I only used my front brake and pushed it really hard, of course due to not having ABS I kissed the floor, I decided not to drive it anymore and get a brand new bike at some point that will fit the beginner more after 2-3 years (now) I decided to get one, tested many bikes at dealer shops, and naked is really something that I love, I feel really confident driving one, maybe cuz I was used to rly heavy bike and this feel like so much easier to control not sure, but due to everything mentioned I consider myself as a beginner as I didn't drive in a longer period, many people say it is a beginner bike but I see some people saying it is not, as despite looking small and having 46hp it really is aggressive, the second thing that is driving me away is that people are saying "ready to repair", not reliable engine etc, I kinda don't want to pay 6,6k euro just for engine to die in 2 years haha so not sure at all

    I have this bike kind of in a different form. I have the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 (here in the UK beginner bikes are limited to 125cc until you get your full licence). It is basically identical to this bike in the main chassis. The rear subframe and bodywork is different and it has Pirelli Scorpion tyres and I think the seat height is higher at 820mm but otherwise it's the same bike essentially.
    The Svartpilen does come with a quickshifter as standard though which is interesting. I don't use it much though as I am learning how to use a fully manual bike properly, but it can make shifting gears quickly easier, which is handy when you only have 15hp. I have yet to fully break the engine in and have the first service so I'm limited to below 7500rpm (it's what the manual says but it's not physically limited). Turn by turn navigation through the TFT display is pretty cool as well. In theory it can recieve phone calls, but I haven't got a helmet speaker set yet so haven't tried it out. Also you can remote control your phone using the left button cluster.
    It has been an excellent bike except for one strange thing that has happened to me a couple of times. If I get a false neutral (e.g. moving in slow moving traffic), it won't let me go down into first gear until I fully stop the bike, which can be somewhat dangerous if traffic behind you thinks you should be pulling off. I think it's part of the safety system, not letting you out of neutral except for specific conditions. Maybe it will let me up into second in that situation I'm not sure.
    Also the chain tension measurement is a bit vague in the manual. I think it says the bottom length of the chain should be between 7-10mm below the bottom of the swingarm (after the plastic chain slider) when you lift the chain up. I am guessing the chain tesion method is similar with all the 2024 bikes on this chassis. How did you set yours?

      I also got the 2024 Svart 125 this summer as my 1st bike and enjoying it so far, although I would love the 401 without the hassle of getting the license… With regards to the 1st and neutral problem, I had the same and the solution is indeed get into 2nd to get out of it since you’re moving already give it some revs before letting go off the clutch if needed and off you go in 2nd!

    • @Bordpie
      @Bordpie 2 месяца назад

      @@bortx20 I have had more experience with false neutrals on the move now, I think I was just not pushing down hard enough to get into first. You have to really step on it to clunk it into 1st. I'm getting better at avoiding false neutrals (going up and down) now by being firmer, but they still happen occasionally.
      I have done almost 1500 miles on it now and getting comfortable with it commuting every day. The only issue I encountered recently was the indicators being faulty then stopped working. Turned out to be corrosion on the contacts in the indicator switch (takes a while to take the handlebar assembly apart to get to it). The really heavy rain we had on Monday-Tuesday managed to get past the switch seals I think. Some contact cleaner and careful cleaning fixed it though.
      I'm doing my full licence training currently, so a 401 is on the cards potentially as my next bike. Enjoy your ride!

    • @bortx20
      @bortx20 2 месяца назад

      @@Bordpie BTW how's your experience with the quickshifter? Before the 1000km oil change it was better than after. I find it clunkier now, specially in the 4-5 and 5-6 change. I took it to the workshop, they said the did something with the software and good to go. Feels exactly the same... and that didn't happen in the first 1000km. Perhaps something to do with the mechanical adjustment of the cluth itself?

    • @Bordpie
      @Bordpie 2 месяца назад

      @@bortx20 I basically don't ever use the quickshifter, except by accident lol. Since I'm learning for my full licence, and my training bikes don't have quickshifters I'm keeping it fully manual for now.

The older models dont have as much technology as other bikes but when it comes to reliably naked bikes, theyre as good as they come. The 2024 models have a very nice updated interface.

      It will likely feel small, I suggest you go to the dealer and try it out! There is also an Adventure Version of the 390 duke, this one is taller. You might want to consider that one

    The Husqvarna Svartpilen/Vitpilen 401 looks better. Other than that, mostly same bike.

      Esa es mi duda , no sé cuál es mas cómodo de Vitpilen 401 2024 o la duke 390 2024 . Me gustaría ver una comparativa . Pero nadie la hizo .😢

      Apparently the riding experience on both are different from their Duke counterparts. Less aggressive

    Try a Honda cb300r, even easier for beginners.

      It's an easy low cc bike but the seat angle on the 390 is still more comfortable.

    Nope. I disagree. Having owned one (390 3rd gen), the construction quality and choice of materials used is bad...in the name of making it lighter.

    Before talking to others about bikes make adjustments on your mirrors brackets and brake and clutch lever position,kinda ugly to watch!

      I started the video by saying I was a beginner and these are my thoughts as an inexperienced rider. If you dont like it, then fuck off. I do whatever the fuck I want to do

    It's a KTM so no. You can't base it off of 3months of ownership lol.
