Join me on an exciting journey in Phoenix, Arizona, where we experience the future of transportation with Waymo, the driverless Uber of autonomous driving. But that's not all - let's explore the impact of driverless cars on real estate and how this revolutionary technology is reshaping our daily lives.
Imagine a world where downtown parking lots become obsolete because your car can simply drop you off and find its own parking spot or head back home until you need it again. Families with multiple cars may no longer need two separate vehicles; instead, one car could be shared among family members, saving significant costs.

I’m lucky to live in Phoenix in a neighborhood where Waymo recently expanded its service area. I’ve used it several times and am amazed at its ability to handle unusual conditions. There is a feature that I don’t believe many new riders realize. The app offers the ability to add one or more stops to a ride. For example, if you’re just going out for a meal and returning home you can add the return trip by pressing “add a stop” in the app. The cost is as much as 35% cheaper than hailing the car with two separate rides. The only restriction is that the entire itinerary must be under three hours. Love Waymo!

thankfully waymo's do not honk at each other when they pass each other. that would be annoying and a distraction hazard for other drivers.

    Why even a steering wheel?

if I'm not mistake there are 3 reasons. 1 these were the same vehicles used for initial driving with the safety drivers. so they predate full self driving capabilities. 2. They use the same vehicles for mapping new areas which requires a manual driving during initial mapping processes. 3 the next vehicle version does not have a steering wheel and looks a bit like a van.
