    This is an easy fix to the typical issue of boot partition (ski-bag) that would lose pressure over time and causes a fault when trying to operate the soft top. Thank you for watching, liking and subscribing, please refer to the video description for the link to the Gas Struts.

    Very helpful, thanks. I had to replace these on my 2013 E class. I found that I could put a vice grip on the safety switch which allowed me to open the back of the deck and rear window up and then replace these over the fender from the top rather than working in the dark and hard to get to trunk space., just remember to pop off the vice grip when installed.

    Wow, that is a simple fix. Mercedes gets a bad review for costly repairs and maintenance but if you have the basic skills and tools you can achieve a lot for only the price of the parts and your time.
    How is the convertible roof repair holding up.
    Another excellent video.

      Hi Allan, thank you for the positive feedback. As for the A209 convertible top adhesive us for the seam, I think a high heat waterproof adhesive might be a better choice as sunlight and heat might affect the top fabric adhesive. But the process would be similar.

    You didn't show it, but does the bolt directly replace the little plastic thing?

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  4 месяца назад

      Yes it does, pick a skinnier bolt and use tape arround it to avoid noise, still works great no issue.

      Hi, just pull it down, if the struts are good it should stay in the position.

    Why didn't your struts mount in the same direction as at the beginning of the video?

      Shouldn't they be so?

      @@BenzAddiction I just see that when you install the struts they are not in the same direction of assembly as when disassembly. My question was: is it important? Thank you very much
