On printables there is a printable side mounted spool holder for the 5M Pro it works well but personally due the Dutch weather I tend to print straight out of my dryer but there is an option for it if you also dislike the annoying spool holder on the back.
Any issues with the wifi connection timing out when sending prints from Orca Slicer? Both my 5M pro and standard 5M have intermittent issues when trying to send prints. Tried with different computers so I’m assuming it’s the firmware…
This specific printer, the FF5M Pro has a carbon filter and support internal air circulation. This should remove bad partials and volatile gasses. Did you check if this will help using abs without the bad impact to the air?
Do you have any Cura profiles for the Flashforge??? I love my 5M. No worries compared to my Ender 3 Max. I would never have tried PETG on my Ender much less ABS and I have zero problems with them on the 5M
I'd be interested in seeing your opinions on different materials. I've been using ASA instead of ABS for a while, but I also hear people saying PETG should be good enough for most use cases instead. Then there's the arguement that PLA is the strongest in some other cases. I'm always curious what materials people use and why because I hear so many differing stories. Hope you're doing well! Thanks for the video and content friend! edit: spelling
I use PETG for UV and crazy temperature areas and it's been great. I have parts on my pool including cup holders which are in the sun every day. Summer the shade can be as high as 95F. They are still going for 1-2 years now. The white/translucent filaments are starting to yellow, but you can expect that from any plastic.
Thanks for the video. So how do you like the 5M Pro? I'm looking for a new printer and have been printing for a while and this seems like a good investment. I see that you haven't released a full review so just wondering what your overall thoughts are on this printer. It certainly seems like you get quite a bit for the $469. Were there any issues using Orca slicer with it? Where you able to use Wifi and the on board camera? Any other Orca issues that you found and printer problems you've uncovered since this video was released? Appreciate any info. Thanks.
I like your fence and I'm in need of one after Helene wrecked mine. Where did you get it? I would be interested in the lights and 3d files too. Thanks.
Specifically choosing ABS for outside was probably not a good choice. ABS really doesn't like the Sun. If you want virtually identical properties but also weather resistance you should really get some ASA. Though like I think I saw somebody else mention, petg probably would have been plenty fine too.
Nature of open source. See different linuces (linuxes, what's correct plural ??) for reference 😉 Maybe it's easier to "create" new slicer than simply publish printer profiles 🤔 Not to mention brand loyalty, look and feel (Bambu Studio is in no way innocent for trying to _own_ open source slicer, so maybe blame them a bit)
I don’t like PLA around a voltage source connected to mains power. I tried PLA holders for the utensils and they sagged. ABS worked better with screws on lights.
How about adding this printer to you review rotation and coming up with profiles and tips for improved performance?
Nicely done! I'm always on the lookout for practical prints around the house to make this just plain better.
Perhaps an opportunity to use threaded inserts for the lights.

not too mention other umpteen spool designs to choose from. Even one of my own "over engineered" versions. 8 )
Pretty nice looking printer, Chuck! Thanks for the review! 😃
Great projects as well!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Nice I have the Flashforge adventurer 4 lite and it works great
Thanks CHEP.
I hope you plan on making more videos using this printer. I order two with the black Friday sales their having.
Print a spool holder and attach with command strips
@8:50, instead of doing wire mounts on the power supply mount, make a cable tie mount(s) for the extruded aluminum.

Yo Chuck! Go Jets Go!
Best videos ❤😊

It´s available now for 350 or so, amazing value machine

Is there an option that keeps the extruder only above printed matherial? It would avoid stringing. Anyone help? please

Got it at Menards. I’ll post rest soon.
I find when using ABS I get shrinkage, is there a starting amount to scale parts up, to account for this shrinkage?
I didn’t scale up.
how to you find patterns for the printer. Just bought one!
Thingiverse and you need the slicer

He said flashforge has a rebranded version of orca slicer why are people rebranding an open source slicer lmfao

Uh the same reason there are 2387456238764 Linux Distros
ABS is not needed there, PETG would do just fine. Even PLA, unless you live in California.

ABS will damaged by UV. PETG will survive
