I just discovered you're channel, and I love your work. You're an inspiring person and your photography is absolutely gorgeous. I almost never leave comments on RUclips, but you deserve it so much. Support from France :)
Such a gorgeous set of images. Love the insight you provided on how you had to plan this shot. BTW, I will be visiting japan soon. Any recommendations on some train crossing locations i can visit for some moody shots
Thats an inspirational video! Lets give a big thanks to the youtube algorithm! Many photographers are talented but the story behind the shot makes it special and valuable. Thats what you have done rn! This is exaclty im trying to do about 3 months as i started my trip as a street photographer. Greetings from Greece man
Respect man, not a lot of people have the dedication for perfection. Especially in a city like Tokyo with so many opportunities the temptation is huge to rush from one place to another because of the fear of missing out on something interesting. May I ask what focal length you used?
Yes definitely but once you stay long enough the temptation fades a bit. I used to spent months there at a time before the c word. Used 55mm. Tried many others too but 55 worked best.
Really nice story and well told. Some nice pix too. You also hit on one point which I'd like to extrapolate; if it's too easy, it won't be so satisfying a result. Well, that's the problem with Tokyo itself - if you can't find a great shot in Tokyo you should probably give up. There are pix everywhere, great ones too. I'd like you to challenge yourself and go somewhere which on the surface is boring - into the countryside, or little nondescript towns and get a great pic. Although I love Leiter, Haas and the other NY street photographers, in many ways they had it too easy. Come to Somerset, Devon or any rural county in the UK and try to get the same dynamic sort of image and you'd find it a lot more difficult. Most street photographers that have become known as 'great' migrated to capital cities for just the very reason that it was a lot easier. Anyway, keep up the good work as you seem to have a good eye. Have fun....
I know what you mean, I'm from a small town. There's one video about shooting there on my channel. But you're kidding yourself if you think what Saul Leiter did with manual film cameras 50 years ago, innovating a genre, was "too easy".
I don’t know how your RUclips channel was out of my sight for so long... 🙃😅 Great content, and like I told you on Instagram; you really wanted that shot and the result is on par!😍👌
Cool vid! I like the format of explaining thought process & also all the b roll overlays!
Thanks man, think I've found a format
