@@shac9131 I've owned goats, there isn't anything these guys are going to do to harm the goats. If anything, they will love them to pieces. These two are learning life lessons and I have to add, you could learn a lot from them about kindness and respect.

There are some goats that even climb trees !!!
Consider raising your fence on the backside of the goat enclosure, they will eventually climb on the aframe and use it to jump out. They are excellent climb/jumpers
And escape artists extrodinair 😏

Goats are so stubborn they are not like cats and dogs. A friend of mine get rid of hers goats because she can not control them. And she is has experience with animals farms. They require large spaces if not they are trying aleatorio to escape.
If you worry about the goats and the camera, worry more if a goat is in the workshop. They'll chew on cords and more.
But if the cord is pulged in they will only eat them once....
Good luck..they love to climb. Don't be surprised if you come out and one of them is on the top of your vehicle. Or your solar panel table!
And wait until they start playin the headbutting game. You're going to want to invest in knee and shin guards because they will tear you up as they play. I did a play with 2 goats and they assaulted virtually everyone in the dressing room. Also ate some of the costume pieces and wigs while on stage. Love 'em!
A lot of people here are giving these guys crap about what they did TEMPORARILY with their goats. Ease up. The goat was being supervised! Everything is fine! Live and let live!

Will need to put fencing around bottom of shop they will destroy anything they can get to - i own goats free range - you have to protect everything.
Also put wire at least around any fruit trees, or coffee plants. Goats can eat poison ivy with no bad results to them. Kind of shows us everything is a dinner possibility to them. My neighbor's goats ate the grafts off my fruit trees. Now I just have thorny rootstock.

You have a farm truck. Livestock goes in the BACK, meaning truck box not the rear of the cab. Build some rails and a gate system to load and unload your livestock, from the BOX of the truck. lol

Lol, kiddos, this is just the beginning for you and the goats. They’re very comical to watch but oh are you into it. They get into everything. But there’re so cute and funny at the same time. They need things to climb on. They love to play. Even if it’s a bail of Hay or some kind of wood deck. They love jumping up on anything. It’s just who what they like to do for play. Quick tip. Put some marks on your post hole diggers, at the hight you want your holes. Save measuring all the time.

Or tape so you aren't marking your tools. Same goes for anything where you need to accurately repeat depth. I use this when drilling holes.

Know your limits space wise and emotionally. Goats are trying at time but the joy mine bring me has been worth it.

Growing up we had goats ,lovely milk ,just remember they will climb over everything and prefer to eat trees and hedges ,so find out what is poisonous to them on your land 👍👌🐐
Note to self , goat pen first .....THEN GOATS......Hay bedding might keep them warm but you’d need to build a floor so hay is above soggy ground.

Hindsight is 20 20 :) we’ve been looking for goats for a year and the opportunity just popped up now so we hopped on it and decided to just make the best of it.

Trent and Alli don't have long experience, better to point them at other channels like Weed 'em & Reap (who don't keep boys) or like Roots and Refuge Farm who do but separate, or like Lumnah Acres who has boys and gals.

They say she likes it tho. I don’t know how she manages to take care of the goats and all the other things they set up like the garden when she’s a full-time nurse. Thank you Trents mom for all the hard work you’re doing in the really difficult times we’re having. ❤️ She must be so tired when she comes home from work.

I love goats. I grew up an only child and my parents were always working. But my Dad had about 6 goats and built a little house for them. So when I was a little girl I used to sneak out of the house if there was a storm and hide with the goats. They were always snuggled up together and because I was so tiny they used to let me in as if I was one of them. I would just fall asleep in the middle of them all. They became my siblings haha. They're so sweet if you have them from youth.
I was a city girl that married a rancher! I got laughed at a lot, because I treated calves like a city dog or cat! So wonderful to hear you laugh!

This was a delight to watch, from the adorable baby goats getting piled into your truck's back seat, to crossing a river to get to them. They have such sweet faces!
It's great to see how you two figured out ways to build a goat shelter. With a gusty wind making some steps harder, like attaching the roofing material, with such strong wind to be working in, you both kept on because it had to be done, & you do work so well together! I wonder how long it took to figure out how to build it & then to build it.
Good thing you had all the materials on hand to build a structure to shelter them from harsh weather, & to keep the girls & boys apart. And what a delight to see the curious babies hanging around you while you worked, so pleased with their new life.

I had a goat many years ago and kept her with my horse. They were buddies. We had an old couch in the barn and Snickers the goat would run as fast as she could through the barn and jump on and bounce off that couch, bucking and twisting. It was hilarious. She also would sleep on my horse Leo's back. They are both gone now, but they provided the best companionship for many years! Enjoy, you are in for quite a ride!
Jordan look up used motor oil and diesel for painting fence posts and rails. It deters insects and rot. Oil and water never mix. My fence has been rot free for 10 years.
Here's an old goat farmer's saying: When you've built a fence to contain your goats, throw a 5-gallon bucket of water at the fence. If the water can get through the fence, so can the goats.
My 2 cents....Use some corrugated clear plastic sheeting or heavy sheet of clear plastic under the solid corrugated metal. The solid corrugated would have a trap door to expose the clear corrugated sheeting like a window . So when its windy cold and wet you can flip up a couple of solid panels to allow the sun in, to warm the ground in the main goat house during the day. . That will help sanitize and dry out the ground they live on and the goats can lay in the sunshine without being in the wind. Like a greenhouse effect. Its nice and toasty in a green house. When it gets hot in summer. Like a storm door. You can flip the solid corrugated steel trap door closed, over the clear corrugated clear window and latch it shut in the summer. I love Earthship houses, greenhouse in the front, living area in the back.
For horse fencing we used to use old oil from oil changes it acts like creosote you buy.
Also the goats will clear out all the brush for you . So if you get Premier tempory electric fence and solar charger you can put them where you want to clear out brush . They come in 100 feet and longer

Easy to say from a developed country .... developing countries have so many more challenges... as a former peace corps volunteer I gotta say they’re slaying it!! 😊
They commented a couple videos ago, the goats weren’t in the immediate plan but they’d been looking for some for quite a while and opportunity came up to get a quality breed. They had to adapt to take advantage of the opportunity. Part of the reason they’re doing this in Panama is the freedom to do what they want when they want. They’re a very freedom loving spontaneous couple!

Two crazy kids.... or should I say six crazy kids and a dog and some chickens! You are the “BEST” I can’t think of anything more fun nor more destructive than a goat. That's how we prepped our forms for concrete, we coated them with diesel each time. Also helps to keep the bugs away.

Panama is not only rough, but a very multicultural and modern country. I grew up in Panama City and Coclé, I belonged to the middle class and never had to rough it. We had a maid, a gardener and a driver to take us to school when we lived in a sugar cane plantation in Cocle. Now, I am living in Canada for 28 years and I only been camping twice lol. I've raised goats for years and this was such a reminder of how I got my first goats before I had a proper fence system! Way too funny.
