Our own attempt to defeat one of our Ft. Knox Locks

  • By request, we did a follow-up video showing an attempted defeat using the same parameters as we used to defeat a "kncok-off" of our Andersen Ultimate. But we did one better using a bigger crow bar and a much bigger sledge hammer. Needless to say, we were pleased with the outcome.

    Milton, I wanted to say thank you for creating such a durable lock. I have owned mine for about 6 months now after purchasing my new 5th wheel and Andersen hitch. Everyone who has seen it were extremely impressed to include the RV dealership where we bought our camper. I think it was worth every penny!

    I think the casing is fine, but I'll bet I can drill that lock in less than 60 seconds and manually actuate the mechanism. The lock casing itself is not hardened steel which itself is a design flaw.

    you should put a nice trailer in a bad area in New Jersey and let the crooks do the testing. That would be great R&D. (Post the videos of the experiments on YT for extra advertisement and revenue)

    I love this lock. It gives me time to slap a magazine in my Glock 9mm while crooks are making all that noise trying to bust the lock off. What happens after that is anyone's guess.

      we have not, primarily as just from looking at their locks the same thing that would be required to defeat their system is the same as would be required for ours. once you introduce power tools like an angle grinder or a cutting torch there is nothing out there that can stop that. so it would be unfair of us to show a video of us defeating their lock using a cutting torch when the same could be done to ours.

      Unfortunately if someone has power tools there is virtually nothing that can be done to prevent that, luckily most thieves dont like taking the time or making the noise that it would require to do so.

  • @Brandon68plus1
    @Brandon68plus1 Год назад

    Very nice heavy duty locks no lock is impenetrable. Thieves will drag a bumper pull trailer by the safety chains and take it somewhere and cut it off with torch. Can't do that with gooseneck tough just make sure to lock jam nut too.

    I hope this earns you much-deserved positive publicity. I wonder if your local news channel might be willing to air this as an example of outstanding commitment to quality and service that is so rare these days. I'll also repeat my comment that I posted on the other video where you had this combined with the defeat of that copycat lock. "Thank you Milton and Chad and Ft Knox Locks! I am one of the people who pointed out a possible avenue of attack using a crow bar. I was confident that the lock would hold, but I wasn't sure if it could be damaged enough to make it impossible to remove, which was my main concern. Full disclosure - I own the Ft Knox Anderson lockbox like the one in this video, and that's why I was concerned. I reached out to Ft Knox and was gratified that they took my concern seriously and actually tested it - something I didn't want to do on my own lock, for obvious reasons. You just earned yourself a life-long customer and advocate for Ft Knox Locks. It's great to know that there are still companies who truly care about their product and about their customers. "

  • @myemail2005
    @myemail2005 2 года назад +3

    Don't forget your lock in the video was held tighter in both the rectangular piece and welds. The lock was getting the entire force of the blows AND the crow bar. When on an actual gooseneck coupler it has a slight bit of play. That slight bit of movement will reduce the effect of the blows or crow bar prying. HOPEFULLY the trailer is in an area where such attempts would cause attention. If the trailer is secluded enough to do everything that you did in this video they will do much more than you did!!! If it is secluded, the trailer owner needs video to be notified when someone is there. Otherwise your locking system IS the best I've researched and seen!!!

      2 out of three of the locks we sell have built in drill resistance (the cobra-7 has a tip on the face of the cylinder that will make starting very challenging, while the abloy has a recessed stainless steel spinner that will catch with a drill and prevent it from making any further progress.)
