This is a useful video to revive old bats. I have repaired two old mosquito bats by replacing the batteries using just one 18650 Li-ion cell. The only thing I observed is that you should use a new 18650 cell. Or as you mentioned, two old cells. A 9V battery runs down very fast. Instead a 9V rechargeable battery can be used. But these type of batteries are costly. Also we need to to reduce the 9V volts to around 4 or 5 volts using an IC or resistor circuit. The best replacement method is to directly connect an old mobile phone charger through a long wire to the old battery of the bat. We can also connect in series, 3 AAA batteries (used in remotes) to get 4.5V! But these cells are low power and will run down very fast. One complaint is the charging capacitor. In many cases the capacitor needs replacement if it burns out. Many bats have very low quality PC boards with poor soldering. Also the LED legs being made of iron get rusted and break. In Kerala, this happens often due to high humidity.

Not worth it! Many electronic service centers in Thiruvanthapuram will fix these faulty bats. But the service charge may be high! Best to fix it yourself if you know how to or get help from a friend!
Replace the battery or charging capacitor( the big orange coloured marked 103, 1K ) with a new one. I have reused old capacitors from old CFL or LED bulbs or other power circuits. But it must be rated 1K (1000volts) or more or it will burn out quickly! Check the wire matting on both sides. After long use, it may become shorted and the charge leaks out. But never touch the bat metal parts without switching it off, discharging the capacitor or cutting off the battery supply. The 240 v connecting power plug of the bat is also dangerous if you accidently touch it while putting i to into the socket.

Frnd If you ever open the swatter you’ll see There is a high voltage polyester capacitor connected across the nets of the mosquito swatter. So it’s pretty obvious that DC is being delivered to the nets.
Please note it may due to transistor ,capacitor or even transformer problem ,but probability little bit higher for caps and transistor first please check those thing and revert plese.whilrvchecking transistor it may not be short or open but reading difference also may be a problem for low spark.
