Got my 24 Terrain SLT for $33k. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. The price point compared to other tech savvy vehicles was right in my ballpark. I didn't want to go all out on a full size SUV, but couldn't justify the price of a Grand Cherokee. Even with all of the tech in the Grand Cherokee, it's still not refined nor perfect in any of the models. Just like the rest of the manufacturers, these self driving systems are still in the "Alpha" stage, and will remain so for sometime. I was able to reason with myself and accept the very same unrefined self driving tech as the others, but at a fraction of the cost. If you're conflicted, like I was, between the cheaper Terrain vs. the more expensive Grand Cherokee, Edge, or any other SUV, then you'll just have to just take my word on this one. This is the best, most reliable and comfortable bang for your buck! Sincerely, a happy GMC customer.
I just test drove one today, and the power was smooth and very adequate, and I drive a BMW X1. I have to agree with the assessment, I loved it - comfy, great interior, easy tech, and $4250 off so I’m seriously considering a purchase. My BMW is a nice car, but the tech is next to impossible to figure out and the seats are not comfortable.
i rented it when i was in sfo , it was amazing on uphill and down hill , we were 5 people all adults it had good capacity to go uphill without any lag . i really liked it as it had good boot space . i would definetly buy it . 1 thing i liked was on a signal i got distracted by phone call when my car was rolling terrain applied self barke i was very impressed with that feature .
I would have never thought of buying this car (Toyota and Honda owner), but after renting Denali trim, just bought one. It is fast enough, and most importantly, comfort is unparalleled. Jeep is so rough and not comfortable, I don't even understand how the conversation got here. Also test drove Range Rover and Hyundai of similar size. Not even close. For comfort, this is it.
I just bought a 2024 GMC Terrain and it's not lethargic 🙄 The performance is just fine. It also has plenty of amenities for the $35k I spent for my AT4 (including heated leather seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, lane departure warning, cross traffic warning, and so much more!). It's a smooth/quiet ride. This review is ridiculous 🤣🤣
If price is an issue, buy an end of lease Terrain that is only 2 years old and less than 20,000 miles. I've bought end of lease vehicles since the early 90's and have saved a TON of money. You get what's left of the warranty, Onstar, etc. I consider my Terrain to be twice as nice as the two Rav 4's that I've had for about the same price. For detractors, however, using switches to change gears and putting that and other controls where you have to take your eyes off of the road is not good and might be considered dangerous.
Just got one. Very nice suv. good gas mileage, 1.5 turbo is enough speed for city and highway. Smooth driving. Your all set for years of comfort if you get a warranty, take care of it, and don't get totaled by another driver. Be safe ❤✝️❤️
MY 2012 TERRAIN HAS THE V6 268 HP, THAT I BOUGHT TO TOW MY BOAT. DOES A FANTASTIC JOB. YOU CAN SCRATCH OFF WITH THIS ENGINE FROM A DEAD STOP. 62,000 MILES NO PROBLEMS. I ONCE HAD A BUICK RENDEVOUS WITH 185 HP AND TO WAIT SOMETIMES TO GET ON XPRESSWAYS BECAUSE IT WAS UNDERPOWERED. GM MADE A MISTAKE WHEN THE NEW ONES ARE ONLY OFFERED WITH A 4CYC.
I tow too many of these to count. Last night I towed one from a Disney resort with only 4000 miles and the transmission was going crazy and not engaging, then kept getting a message that said “reduced engine power”. A few weeks earlier I towed one with 10k miles on it, and it wouldn’t crank at all but the battery was good. They are a pain to tow also because of how ridiculous it is to get them in neutral, plus the electronic parking brake keeps engaging by itself. Their sibling, the Cadillac XT-4s suffer from the same no crank no start issue. I would never consider owning one after experiencing what I have first hand with these.
I have a 2023 Terrain Denali and to be honest, I am impressed with the engines responsiveness. I also own 2019 Chevy Malibu Premier with the 2.0 4 cylinder engine. While 2.0 performs better than my Terrain's 1.5, the major difference is in the high end performance. After you reach about 65/70 miles an hour in the Terrain, that is where you have a drop off in the strength of the engine. The 203 foot pounds of torque of the 1.5 helps to get you moving pretty quickly. Its not a racer, but it is more than efficient!
Wow, your review of performance is so wrong. I love mine and have zero issues passing other vehicles quickly. It is not lagging in get-up & go at all. I mean, it's an suv, not a race car.
lethargic acceleration…. I didn’t know that “Stupid U “offered Automotive in their university.. comparing GMC Terrain to Porsche Cayenne is “imbecilic” …. Heyyhh,, isn’t that’s your graduation degree
I didn’t buy for a race car. It meets everything my family needs.
Agree! These videos often are critical about stuff that does not concern the average consumer.

What do think about the power of it? 175 horses sounds very underpowered. How does it accelerate for you? Thanks

Kinda hard to compare a Terrain with a weak 1.5L 4 banger to a GC with an available 5.7L Hemi V8.

Good review of this review 😅

I just got mine a Denali very happy

Same very comfy but I went from a 09 Hyundai Sonata to a 24 terrain

Talk about negativity, I love my 24 terrain
I love mine it has a beautiful ride

Wait, it has a bumpy ride, but also a soft ride? Which is it?

This is the same motor in the Equinox.
6 speed transmission would have done the needful

Buyer beware , be sure to ask if the work under TSB 21-NA 169 has been done before purchasing or you will have a burnt transmission.
Mine was just wrecked
The first few lines that was spoken in the video was straight copy from the Edmunds Car review we site. lol.. so much about integrity!
