I agree with you both. This is a home run by Buick. It looks great, is packed with features people want (in the base trim, with extras available if wanted) and is well priced (relatively in the market). Factor in plenty of dealership access (small towns, etc), a decent reliability record and you've got yourself a winner. Some may be hesitant as it's made in China, but they've been making some decent cars for a few years now.

Its made in China. The money you spend on one of these eventually finds its way into the CCP and their efforts to topple the USA and take over the world. Just saying. I like the new logo but sending tens of thousands of dollars to china. Not so much.

Buick is about the brand I can think of in the automotive industry without media cheerleaders. It’s great to see someone cheerleading for a brand that deserves it, but never gets it.

Thank you Motormouth for this review - this review and the 2021 review of this model is what sold us in the end! We bought the 2023 version Essence trim ST with Tech 1 package and pano sunroof recently at a substantial discount vs. 2024, as it was still brand new on the dealer's lot. Sure, it doesn't have the latest big screen and no wireless charging, and the front styling is different, but that's it. Otherwise, it is the same car. We love how quiet it is - quiet tuning is real! It's like your car was a giant noise-isolating earphone, that's the best way I can describe it. We also love how little body roll it has and that we are now up to date with the "almost" latest technology. It's a bargain money-wise compared to the Cadillac XT4 (made on the same platform), which has fewer dealers, and you must go to a Cadillac service centre for all your services. Some people will not like that it's made in China and are afraid of the quality... Phones, TV, Computers are all made there, it just depends on the factory it's made at. It's the same car made for the Chinese market from the same factory; it's more expensive to buy there. And to anyone saying it's not "quite as luxurious"as (insert Audi, Land Rover etc etc) - it's an elevated interior for sure - maybe not AS luxurious but you are saving about 10 - 15K compared to those other brands and you will save in the long run as this is a much more reliable car.

Thank you both…this was exactly what I wanted to hear! I went to the Buick dealer just to look at it in person. I was amazed at the base Preferred trim with the comfort and convenience package. That would be everything I needed plus the pano roof. Where I live, I would have to order the car with the pano roof because the base trims at the dealership don’t have them. I’m not ready yet but when I am, the Envision is #1 on my list. Thank you again for your enthusiastic review about this particular SUV!

Many people have mentioned concerns about Chinese production. In fact, if it is the same brand or product under the same standard, the quality of American products is not necessarily better than that of Chinese products! The low-quality Chinese products that people usually blame are just the cheapest goods purchased from China by our local dealers (they also have high-quality high-end goods) in order to get the biggest profit! Similarly, on Envision, some people complain about the materials and design, which are all standards set by GM, and China is just a contract manufacturer.

We just purchased a 2024 envision preferred in cinnabar metallic we added the comfort and convenience package, but what a great car so well built your review did play in to my decision but after test drive and seeing one and driving I was sold.
I am retired and maybe a Buick is an old man’s car, but I do love driving this car it is such a nice quite driving car I think it is a lot of bang for the buck.
In our envision the heated seats and heated steering wheel turn on and off automatically depending on it if cold, that must be part of the comfort and convenience package?

I have a 22, ton of extra tech that makes my driving, parking much easier. It does have an annoying turbo whistle kittle sound that the dealer ignored me on that I just deal with. Wish it was a hybrid for the fuel economy but it is what it is.
The small redesign is something I wish I had i think it's a great improvement.

  • @robertgedzelman380
    @robertgedzelman380 18 дней назад

You left out one really nice thing: the DISPLAY. Select the map to be displayed on the driver's screen and the driver gets a 13" wide map that's easy to read and doesn't take your eyes off the road "too much". I felt however that the nighttime brightness is a bit high. Also, when ACC (adaptive cruise control) is engaged, it can suddenly decelerate (as you approach a slower vehicle ahead of you) in a jarring way. It could slow you down a little more gradually.
We liked the rear storage...we placed larger pullman rolling luggage in the rear and it had enough room for two large units lying down on their wider side. We also like the "Mercedes-Benz-like gear shift lever on the right side of the steering column. It was illuminated "D", "R" and "P" and we liked that feature. Again, more eyes on the road when selected gear. We also liked the 30"-wide display and that the right side (13" wide area) for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto...easy to read and operate. We liked the large round volume control for audio (also on/off) BUT we didn't like the menu-driven sound controls (bass, treble, balance/fader) all requiring multiple button-pushings to change audio settings. Seat comfort, driver height, viewing aspect we liked. The Envision was easy to get into and out of. We did ride on some rougher-surfaced roads and the sound was transmitted into the cabin, but on smoother roads, the ride was lovely and quiet. We found the car nimble and agile, easy to steer and it had decent road feel. When pushed, the car accelerates 0-60 in about seven seconds, which we found ample. Also: we found the adaptive lights well-placed: low and wide, they lit the road ahead very well and in fog and snow we weren't blinded by bright reflection because the head lights are wider and lower than normal. When turning, the headlights throw (for a moment) additional light in the direction you are steering. When you unlock the car using the key fob, the eyelash lights up front and rear lights display a cute light play that's enjoyable to watch. Finally, a little button on the left side of the dashboard allows you to select drive modes: front drive, all-wheel drive and different traction modes for more challenging conditions. We really liked that!
We didn't like the two silver rocker buttons on the steering wheel...one for audio volume and the other set/accel for the cruise control. They often reflected sunlight which we thought presented safety risks. We also didn't like the annoying bongs that played if you started the car w/o seat belts already buckled. If you buckle up first, you won't hear the bong sounds upon start up.

Buick’s ‘Quiet Tune Technology’ is often dismissed, overlooked… maybe a bit misunderstood. On my Buick Allure it meant double insulated roof, triple door seals, an extra thick subfloor, better carpeting, soft touch (just about) everything, soft (and quiet) velour seats, dual (2) firewalls, acoustic glass windshield and even DOUBLE glass side doors! A reliable, proven and underworked 3.8L certainly helped. Buicks, especially used… I believe, are too often overlooked as an option… whether it be Value or Comfort. This one appears to be continuing on with (some of) those traditions. Impressive vehicle… in it’s own sorta way… for a Buick at least. Thanks for the video.

I just test drove the 2024 Envision Avenir. I loved most things about it. Tons of foot /knee space in passenger seat, huge pano roof that keeps it bright, and the setup is driver friendly. It sits a little lower for an SUV. Surprisingly great steering and feels solid. The biggest downsides for me was the driver seat (it is so hard/firm under your butt) and my insurance was going to go UP $368 every 6 months. I still think the value with the Envision is great for what you get. I personally just can't get past that dang hard seat. For about $3-$4K more I can get the NX350 Premium, so the bargain would be with a lower trim ST and just add the convenience package and pano roof.

Found one with 29K and in a pretty colour and I have to admit that it has turned out to be a very nice little car. Her parking spot is small and this one is a little longer than she would like, but this looks very appealing. If GM EVER starts to put NACS charging ports on something like this in a plug in hybrid (she already has a Tesla charger outside) I might go for something like this.

In 9/2024, I traded in a 10 year old Toyota Highlander XLE for a new 2024 Cadillac XT4 love it. At the Cadillac dealership, I did see an Envision and I liked the Ferrari front but I didn't like the interior (seemed cheap) and the 1.2 litre engine was no comparison to the Cadillac XT4's 2.0 litre.
With the refreshed 2.0 Buick engine from the Cadillac, standard HUD , standard AWD, spare tire, I think this interior refresh could have changed my mind.
But even the refreshed Buick still has a rearend that looks like every other SUV, unlike the Cadillac XT4's distinctive rearend and Escalade face.
Minor issues: Buick doesn't have a power/usb outlet in the center storage console for me to plug in a LED usb light.
I don't need AWD so I'd rather have the better mpg with a FWD.

I saw some other reviewers recently review the 2025 GMC Terrain which I believe is the GMC equivalent. The Terrain only comes with a 1.5 L engine which for me is a big miss. I generally keep a car for longer than the warranty so reliability is a big deal. It will be interesting to see how those big screens fare long term.

Handsome vehicle on the outside, but I can't digest the 30+ inch screen on the inside. I know that fashionable at the moment, but count this old guy out. Nice review as always, you two!

Loved the review! I don't think you mentioned the Continuous Damping Suspension (likely on your Avenir tester) which is supposed to allow a more supple ride. XT4 'sportier' - not as nice for keeping granny's dentures in place while driving on country roads.

Such a beautiful car, sucks it doesn't have the Super Cruise feature? I'm guessing that is the same feature as called Lane Follow Assist on other brands, such as the Hyundai Tuscon? I fell in love with that feature when I test drove the Tuscon, really disappointed this Buick doesn't have that feature...

Hey, I can understand the attraction but I'll stick with my 2024 CX 5 Signature, less money and the interior seems better to me and pretty sure the driving dynamics is better...I'll trade for new Mazda 6 maybe a '25 Gold R if tech is different ....Nice review thank you.

    Hello from Atlanta!!!
    As always, love your videos
    Great review of this Buick.
They seem to have come a long way separating themselves from other GM products where all the models look too similar to one another.
IE :Cadillac and Chevy..the interior looks nice but those seats still look so generic GM
My Family owned Fords and Oldsmobiles throughout the years
I worry about long term reliability, quality and depreciation.
But still have to hand it to Buick for a great looking vehicle

I was extremely interested until the fuel economy stats and realized there is no hybrid option. That's an unfortunate deal-breaker for me but I hope it does well for the benefit of the North Am car industry.

The price war has taken its toll. It's good news if you're a buyer, and brutal news if you're an owner.
Used EV prices fell 20.5% year-over-year last quarter. Companies have had to cut new EV prices this year, which has pushed down pre-owned values. The good news is that if you want an affordable EV, the used market finally looks good.
It's a brutal time to sell and a helluva time to buy. The used EV market is in freefall, and it's current owners that are holding the bag. But if you've been looking for the time to get into a modern, long-range EV, it may be now.

I wish people got station wagons and hatchbacks instead of crossovers.
Our 2016 LaCrosse has 303 HP and still gets 22 in the city (without auto start/stop).
The car has 220 HP and auto start/stop and also gets 22 in the city.
Sedans just get better MPG. It also has a smooth v6 instead of a buzzy 4.

So Yes I would buy that one.
Seat quality is not as high as I would like for the top model top trim..
But Buick is doing an amazing job.
I see more Buicks today than I ever have.
