She's brilliant. No apology needed. Just someone with humor.
Well-said. Those people complaining about her supposed lack of professionalism seem to think she can’t also be human or that those in the public eye ought not to have a sense of humour or to be able to take the piss and have fun whilst on the job. Relax, folks!
😂😂😂
I agree.
Lets see will the company fire her thou , sad 😔
Fr
This just shows how good she is at her job. Went from having fun to an instant professional just like that.
It shows she disrespects the job and her employers and the audience.
@@johnwilliamson9657its not that deep
Everyone can do that man
@@PlanPlan-jo8tz no matter what your beliefs are towards the context behind the joke, not firing her literally sends the message of an FU to the audience and ruins credibility in the long run. This isn’t even because i think a certain way, just this is what the company should do logically.
@@LarryDavid.blochainlmfao the dumbass cryptobro has hurt feelings about being flipped off 😂😂😂
How sad that she even feel pressured (by the BBC , the public or both) to apologize for a silly joke. What a crazy world. People are scandalized by a joke but not enough by the war, atrocities, hunger, etc, that humanity endures every day.

People just love to make others suffer they want her broke and bankrupt over a dam finger and this applies to everyone in this country. Misery loves company
I loved the way she was able to compose her face and keep it straight.
Probably because she thought "oh f**k, I'm going to get fired"
Pro.
That is her job tho

This is hilarious give the lady a raise
The BBC is a left wing rag. They force their citizens to pay these people's salaries. They're almost as bad as PBS.

She’s a legend. I’ve never been more happy to be flipped off. 😂 We’d rather have more reporters like this than the people who are practically robotic without a shred of personality.
Flipped off in a totally mommy way 🤣 That face!
A private laugh
A “legend” for giving the finger? That’s a very low bar for being a “legend”.
It wasn't supposed to appear on air , genius. After she showed her finger she was talking like a "robot" again

she went from 🤪🖕 to 😐 real quick💀
Next up, shocking video of someone failing to hold the door for someone.
In fairness it's only polite to hold the door.
Yep, that happens to me a lot.
Oi that bloke is cutting the queue. That's disrespectful innit?
Everyone can clearly see I only have one item in this Waitrose queue yet they won't let me go first. I better get my phone camera out to film this. This is outrageous, someone is getting fired.
Breaking news : This man didnt raise his hat when greeting someone, what a nuts
She has a personality. Good on her.
Apology for what? She was not abusing anyone. Just a good actor with passion towards her job having fun for a second.

It is just office fun, why is it big deal
It’s just incredibly unprofessional
Yes most office types are low class and unprofessional
The only thing unprofessional about the countdown was whoever went live too quickly...
It's the BBC which offends tories because they don't own it.
See also the Guardian.

Love how she went from smiling to deadpan right on queue. I'm with @Kevlar333, give her a raise.
Yeah the sudden transition into robot mode is really the only thing I find disconcerting, lol...
The actual countdown itself is the best thing I've seen all day.

Go swallow up more lies of the bbc
Imagine supporting someone giving the finger on medias though. I think it's rather because of those people the society is taking an edgy side. At this point, let's go further and let's include rac*st slurs as well.
@@juleskireeff4563 It was a mistake, ofc it wasn't intentional. But getting mad and over this doesn't make any sense, she clearly didn't wanted to do that.

She has a cookie named for her. True story.
people are way too soft nowadays to be offended by a silly joke
Brilliant. Our news readers are human beings enjoying their job. No complaints here. Beats AI everyday.
IDK maybe we should all just chill out
and take about 5 dried grams of ShrOOmzZz!
When I saw the original short clip, I thought 'How rude and unprofessional, completely inappropriate for the state broadcaster', but having seen this clip, all I see is someone at work who obviously has a good, healthy and humorous rapport with her team and must be kicking herself when it got caught on camera. It's a giant faux pas, nothing more.
How she went from fun to serious so quickly, WHAT a skill! I love this!!

Give her a promotion, she proved she is human!
I once went to an office party of my mum and i realized that my mum is funny at work. This reminds me of that.
This is why I am always telling people that if they ever want to be a TV news presenter, NOT to countdown using fingers.
Based reporter. It is a shame that this is considered a scandal when politicians do much worse without consequences.
Oh no someone being human!!! how dare they!!!
Agreed, this is just some work place fun. No need to blow it out of context!
She will remain the icon of New Year Countdown for decades to come❤🎉
I’m glad it was released cos it shows that she was just being playful and not actually swearing at the viewers watching !
Yeah its no big deal really
Loved it. Thanks for bringing humour to a chaotic world.
What a great lady keeping the old school values and humor alive 🥳💃🏻
It wasn’t a rude countdown 🙄she was joking with the crew. Good on her 👏🏽👏🏽.
This lady went up in my estimation!!😂
Hilarious and professional. Give her a raise!
To be fair this is the first commendable thing I've seen from a BBC employee for a decade
Last was Tomasz Schafernaker giving the finger
It's not commendable to abuse her position of authority to send an intimidating message to someone. SHHH.
This really humanizes her.
Tbf, seeing the whole clip only adds to the comedy.
🤣 I can never take her seriously again! I'll always remember this clip.
Please don't apologize for being sarcastically funny. Don't let them take your shine.
Jesus, these are most sensible RUclips comments I've ever seen! I was fully expecting to see a righteous mob declaring that it's the most offensive thing they've ever seen 😅
Outstanding i wish more brits still had there sense of humour like her. Put a smile on my face today.
Glad to see she has a sense of humour and we need more of this kind of stuff. Laugh at life, don’t stifle life.
It's the raised eyebrow when she switches to serious mode that gets me 😂
I think she is absolutely awesome. I hope she’s still has her job. Companies tend to over panic at things like this, which is a shame. Its nice to see a flair of personality. 😁
This women is a legend! Give her a medal! She has an amazing poker face, and giving the finger to millions of people around the world is a 1 in a million opportunity! She is a legend!
She’s not giving the finger to the world by choice, she wasn’t expecting it to be televised. Don’t breed.

I absolutely love her, I think she's absolutely brilliant. I would far sooner have her in front of the camera than some Orwellian AI automaton. She proved to me that all is not lost. And for those conspiracy theorists who claim the BBC is under full control of the 'unseen hand' and that there's no such thing as free journalism. UP YOURS!
It's crazy how she went from a genuine human being with a sense of humour to a propaganda robot in less than a split second though 😂
I love how she went from giving the finger straight to working as if nothing happened. A true professional ❤🎉🥳

She's already spreading false information and abusing her position of authority to send an intimidating message to someone. She's really, really, really pissed off and can't find peace.

Shouldn't news and TV people just tell the news, the facts and the truth? She obviously doesn't want to repent.
Great humor, should be more of it today. Also from me give her a raise. 😅😅

Need a bit of talent to go from being a clown to straight faced in a blink of an eye.
All those complaining about this are seriously sad.
She was only doing the countdown from 10 - 1❤
The worst part is she has to have a depressing facial expression to read the news.

hahah Good on her for having a sense of humour
The fun involved showing middle finger to the camera and by extension, to the audience. Is everyone allowed to show middle finger at work just for fun? Can anyone crack this joke to their co-workers, at any time? It's unacceptable behaviour, a serious offence. We cannot be accepting of obscenity. Behaving like this allows others to assume that the person is not serious in their presentation.
