Don't Kick It 00:00 - 02:59
DHW 03:15 - 08:36
Roast Host 08:45 - 12:29
After talking about writing music together for years, never having the time, due to our respective bands and busy schedules. In February '21 the opportunity arose to get in a room together, so we jumped on it. In the midst of a national lockdown, we spent 2 days of writing and 1 day of recording at Brighton Electric. What resulted is an EP of three songs we are so happy with!
Written by Rabea Massaad & Liam Kearley

Making of video coming soon :)
Much love Rabea and Liam
This is top notch. You look great, you sound great, this is awesome! What a sound
great stuff m8
Best 13 minutes in music.
13 mn of pure pleasure, ambiant and good vibes. many thanks for this beautiful EP
This is amazing! More please!
Crushing sweetness!
Sweeting crushness!
Forum Crawlers: “yeah the strat isn’t a metal guitar, you need humbucker”
Rabea:
This is one for the filthy elitists
😂😂 spot on
*_Finch’s “Say Hello To Sunshine” album put that opinion in the grave._*
🤣
Man needs no hbucker
I love the sound of a gained up single coil, has this awesome percussive attack.
Sick - I'm sure that was the tone Leo Fender envisioned for the Stratocaster in 1954.
But what a sick tone 😍 this is the first time I’ve seen this video I always use Spotify so this was really cool!
It’s the Mona Lisa on it. Awesome!. I’m blown , melted.
Fuck it ... It is the tone we need. I dont think that Leo thinks about the phrases this guys have. A tone dont makes the music lots of them does makes us to feel different. So we are sad, some happy, some strange, dont know what happened ...But we feel it ... the music ...
The Execution of the drummer and him is dead solid!
En 1954 doesnt exist the "tone"
Doesnt exist, the rock/metal or presdive music, or the high gain distortion.
Just wanna swing back round after a few days to say thank you all for the love! So happy to see so many comments of enjoyment for the music!
We are well chuffed! So just wanted to come back and comment that! It’s so cool and we are definitely bringing more to it
Are there going to be tabs or anything?
Loving it Rabea! Any plans for a cd release for this for fossils like me 🤣
Amazing stuff bro. The riffs are so tight. Really takes my mind off work.
I come back here every so often to crank the insanity of the last half of "Don't kick it". Gives me strength...
this is Hard man, Keep Doing What you doing BEA and LIAM
Can we take a sec to appreciate how clean, punchy and chonky Rabea ‘I’m not a mix engineer’ Massaad’s mix is, man’s so annoyingly talented!!
Has anyone seen him and Steve Wilson in a room at the same time, just saying :P This was a great collaboration, you don't see a guitarist and drummer enjoy themselves this much.
He is a gift to our planet! But I'm sure It's result thousands hours of hardworking.
@@Diftonez You better bet on it!
That's how you play a fender strat 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Heaviest a strat has sounded since Arcane Roots broke up.
Why did you have to remind me 😭😭
Arcane Roots broke up??
@@lucamoqi unfortunately yes. It’s been a while now. So sad!
😭😭😭
Check out Helm from Australia! 2x teles and a strat, and all the heavies :)
I’ve been loosening up my neck muscles, don’t want my head to pop off!
Liam, you should be goddamn proud of this, man. This creativity is fucking nuts, and that snare? My god. That snare sounds like a cannon.
So sick dudes! Proud of ya
This is awesome bro, so good to see you too playing together finally - fucking epic grooves, although I would expect nothing less from the two of you! :-)
'you two' not "you too"
@@bokchoiboi9016 that’s not the most important thing. As long as the message come across, and a good one at that, is what matters most
@@caprise-music6722 I always find it amusing that the people who find it necessary to correct the grammar of others almost always make grammar mistakes in their own comment. Including this guy. Lol! Cheers!
Chappers ya K,t
Love Beas riff writing. He is really diverse in his playing i like that. Especially in a world full of people trying to do the same thing everyone else is doing.
Blazing, snarling, thundering complexity. Highly intelligent. Ferocious. LOVE it.
DHW is beatiful. Especially that "God Is An Astronaut" vibe at 4:37
Rabea and Gojira have proven beyond any shadow of doubt that strats and teles can metal 🤘
*cough* Jim Root *cough* excuse me sorry *cough cough* Adrian Smith and Dave Murray *cough*
Not trying to be rude, just wanna add to your list :)
@@PhilDuggs only difference is that jim root tele has high output humbuckers and dave murray strat has a hot rail humbucker. So not the classic strat or tele sound that people have in mind when thinking about those guitars. Especially the jim root tele sounds nothing like a tele. The only thing that is tele, is the shape. But i get your point :) cheers
Well they have custom ones and even an original fender one could be decent for metal I think. Tone is subjective of course.
You can't compare a strat with single coil to the charvel of joe duplantier with modern humbucker ...
Don’t forget about Baroness
This is so good. Rabea's sense of melody while keeping things heavy is on another level. An amazing songwriter.
this is 100% my favorirte youtube video of the year so far. found it back in dec 2023 and i watch it almost everyday. gets me so fired up.
The algorithm didn't treat me right. I completely missed this release and video. This is great! Such great songs, I hope you make more! MOAR!!
I'm not normally a fan of instrumental music but holy fuck is this rad.
Check out Rabea's band Toska if you haven't already...
Same, but the dynamics held me captive...superb.
Rabea comes on, I check out. I see a whole movie in my head very vividly when I listen to this guy. Probably my favourite musician.
Epic AF bro 🔥🔥🤟🔥🔥
Epic AF(b)RO
The strat tones, the riffs, the drums, the production, the musicianship ... everything is epic!!
Awesome Rabea!! It sounds massive!!!
SO massive! ;)
This is incredible!
It's like Arcane Roots and Black Peaks had a baby that doesn't know how to sing 😂🤘
Love it
At 10:54 Roast Host is ripping. Great production!
The one dislike is from someone who was head banging so aggressively that they accidentally hit the dislike button due to being too dizzy to see straight
🤣👏🏽👏🏽
honestly thats the only possible explanation...
Thanks for joining us for the premiere everyone! super happy to share this with you all! Jump on the live chat, we'd love to know what you think! :-)

and thank you for continuing to produce all the top tier content thats kept me going ;) can't wait to listen
Thanks so much, Bea! Some gorgeous material right here.
That was really incredible, amazing that you guys put this together in just 3 days! The mix, just wow. Need more of this!
@rabea massaad
thank you so much Rabea, for your music, your lessons , everything!
i gave up on my guitar playing few years ago after i had bike accident and i developed a syndrome that effects my nerve system .
i was exposed to your music almost a year ago, and you inspired me so much, that i returned to play my guitar even with my nerve system problem.
ASYLUM made me cry the first time i listened to it, this song was so inspiration to me and i knew i had to have something from you in my guitar.
because i cant work since the bike accident 3 years now , i sold my second guitar to afford your SILO pickups.
i wish i could afford one of your guitars, but its not possible for me.
THANK you for light the fire in me again.
and thank you for ASYLUM.
kobi
Amazing. I gotta listen to all of this.
No matter what you can tell if there’s Bea in the formula of a tune!! This sounds so cool
I listen to this EP, all the way through, every morning with my coffee, for about a year now. I see no reason to change this habit either.
just came back to this track ... whoever filmed it is a true underdog here! i love the visuals!
Friggin riff machines, that's what you guys are. Mind blowing.
Dude, there is just no stopping, 11:45 i got goosebumps all over, just so much talent. Lost for words what i just witnessed
I love that this video is pure music, no intro or outro promotion, or anything.
It's perfect if you want it in the background while working, and if you want more depth, you can always put it back in fullscreen because the Music Video is so neat too
Metal guitar player approved. Honest music radar went off. 10/10
holly shit! in a good way
What's the bad holy shit?
So glad to hear new music from someone that has inspired my playing so much! I absolutely love all your playing but the moods and ambient sounds you get always hit me in the feels! Cheers BEA!
My neighbours love this EP.
I'm not giving them any other choice!
at 1.47 my life changed slightly and the hair on my arms stood to attention to let the goosebumps dance their way to the surface of my skin. thankyou
my dudes bringing the heat! Loving the tracks guys! Sounds HUGE!
I come in expecting the best and somehow you raise the bar every time. That. Was. INCREDIBLE.
This sounds way better than than multi million dollar rock bands used to sound some years ago.
Rabea is a freaking riff machine. Roast Host is a groove masterpiece. Kudos to Liam Kearley too!
Bea - what an amazing mix, bro!Getting some Exotic Animal Petting Zoo vibes from this. Crazy good job, guys.
Dude, Rabea, I have had this on repeat for well over an hr and I hear something new every time! Such a well done job creating and mixing these songs. Thanks for the journey and story told through each note. I may finally be sold on the Chapman lineup after this, lol. Seriously though, well done to all involved and please keep creating these stories for us! Cheers from good ‘ol Kentucky.
Nearly the 1 year anniversary of this and I'm coming back to say I've had it on repeat for nearly the entire year! So GOOD! And insanely inspiring as well. Can't wait to see what's in store for us next!
all the best parts of 90/2000s grunge and metal rolled into a filthy musical burrito banger. Oh yes!!
I love this record, because it’s like a situation I love. It’s like the moment, when you and your friend are hanging out and for some reason you get inspired by the same thing and you start to jam. Out of the sudden you improvise a whole song and it’s awesome, the energy and emotion of the moment is captured in music. The moment is gone, but the music portraits everything, it recreates the moment again for everyone else. I love it, great job you two
Bloody outstanding. Bea - it feels like Liam's playing pushed you in a few directions you havent been before, especially in that frenetic finish on track 3, can't say I've hear you playing like that before and its fecking awesome.
Woohoo!! The second half of DHW when y'all are givin it the simultaneous snare drum n axe whacks is the shiznit dudes!! It's all pretty damn brutal though, ooh mama!!💥💣 💥🕺
Yes British drum company.love them.
This is sick. The riffs, the grooves, the beats, the melodies... it's all perfect! I don't know where you get your inspiration from, but your music is sick!
Can’t wait to see this! Reminder set!!! 🤟😈👍
Brilliant videography and editing as well!
what i LOVE most about the 'BEA MASSAD EXPERIENCE is that it's so physically and mentally transportive. it's more than just something to listen to for a few minutes of fun. it takes one to a better place than where you started from.
during the piece I do sense that I'm traveling through change. my thoughts cease their wandering nature for the time being. the passage of time gets much less weighty as my worries and resentments fade into insignificance for a while and their gravitational grip on my attitude loosens. i get absorbed in the "relocation" process via the performance taking my attention captive. my mind gets a furlough from my negativities. rock 'n' roll chills circulate around my body and feel so, so good as they relieve various aches and discomforts of life's burdens. by the time they stopped playing, my consciousness is more vivid, all wandering thoughts have dissipated, I'm more optimistic and bodily awareness has taken on a heightened sense of well-being.
the overall result is a more clear, vigorous, nimble and positive mind along with a more pleasant-feeling body. sort of like what Dice Clay used to say: "I'm over here now."
to do a bit of personal disclosure, I'm one of those folks who naturally is a bit mentally and physically uncomfortable a lot of the time as compared to the 'normies' of the planet. Rabea's music is more than just entertainment to me. it goes much deeper and wider than that. It's very therapeutic! it gives me a reprieve for a while, like going to a spa for the soul. I would love to see much more of it than the small amount that's available so far.
...aahhh. I just found the rest of the treasure on your site!
My god that single coil heavy metal sound is amazing. God damn!
ps: was doing the stank face the whole time without realising it
I hear a lot of Incubus's Crow Left of the Murder in this Ep. This is darker and overall heavier, but the melodies and timing are there. Your guitar playing really resonates with me, keep rocking Rabea!
Pure Genius😳 Another major contributor to modern metal guitar
That first song had just a touch of Mike Patton, Mr Bungle/phantomas madness to it. so great. I can hear him singing over that in my head so easily.
Normally I don't like metal, but I enjoy any genre where the musicians are talented. Great video!
Liams drumming is fucking incredible
So fucking good, Chaps!! Rory owned this too. Congrats!!! X
Thank you sir! Massive love for the mastering on this chap too! Legend 🙌🙌❤️❤️
Thanks dude, You too.. sounds huge! 🔥
The drummer is an absolute beast!!!
going with single coils for some of these tracks worked so well IMO, loved that last one especially
Oh man, how I wish this was like a 6-8 song LP... pure fire!
Btw, anyone know where that Edgar Allan Poe shirt comes from?
Amazing, especially when you consider the camera man is filming and playing bass at the same time
That opening riff is gold...
If gold was from Hell!!!
Warm stack of flapjacks. Sounds great. Tells a story.
Well is this a joke or what Bea and Liam. Just 3 songs. I mean my neck was just starting to hurt and it got over. Please get back to the Studio and write an entire Album. This is too good for a mere EP. Liam's aggressive drumming combined with the atmosphere that Bea creates through his Riffs really takes the listener to a mystical place . Like a Lovecraftian world or something.
Tote Mist translates to " Dead Crap" in German 😂
NEEEEEEIN
Epic Billy Talent vibes in Roast Host...love it!
Pushin a Strat. Hell Yeah!!!
bruh, you play synth too??
you're like the british louis cole to me now, lol
btw grinding gears 3 is baller af, Black Friday is my fave song in a long while
Same! Black friday is my fave
Crap...I have to wait 4 more day...🙆🏾♂️
I know! I would’ve preferred a surprise drop. I hate waiting 😂😂
Sorry guys! Comes out with the EP on the same day! Set yourselves a reminder it you like! :D
@@RabeaMassaad also ordered in some popcorns la x
@@RabeaMassaad no worries Bea. We’re just messing with you and can’t wait for this project!!!
@@RabeaMassaad no one else playing a strat like this right now... unreal tones as always 🔥
One word..."Sick!"
Rock that power Founds WICKED!!!!!!
Wicked!!
Didn’t know Peter McKinnon was this good of a drummer
Sweeeeetttt !!!!! Awesome Creativity !! So refreshing.. Thats what i called MUSIC
Love Bea's tone, note choices and picking abilities. Can we just take a moment here to appreciate Liams drumming.. That's sick! (I know I'm 5 months late to the party here, but better late than never.)
Roast Host is great!!! Guys, bring a singer with you, it would be epic !!
goddamn, roast host roasted me
The part with bottleneck 😍😍😍😍😍
F-Yes!! Rabea, you rule man! The guy on the drums, totally awseome!
Keep coming back for more. Well played lads. Loving!!!
Sounds like Black Light Burns. Awesome!
Roast Host is giving me severe Biffy Clyro vibes with that verse phrasing.
Lads, that was a proper way to kick 2020's ass! Well done!
in which dimension is it possible to click on dislike after watching this?? that energy is so rad!
excuse the analogy but I love canvas on which you paint. From your fingers to our ears. You are a guitar hero to some of us mate.
No words!!! epic sound!!!!
Warp Speed Mr Massaad! Mr Kearley torpedos ready!
Don't Kick It! Is just perfect!
Regardless of the genre, everything that Bea plays sounds like Bea. To me that is one of the finest compliments you can give. Astounding as always!
OK. That's sick, Rabea. You are tugging on some post-punk heartstrings.
That sound oh my god... I'm in awe
Yes.
Just, YES.
Like HOW just 2 guys make a INCREDIBLE POWERFULL Vibe!
Pure fuggin GOLD everytime bro. Rabea FOR LIFE!!
U Guyz Rule...Amazing what 2 Dudes can create
Yeah, that's got tons of power and substance. Thoroughly modern in terms of complexity yet organic and raw. 'Tis goooood and even missing some soloing, I totally appreciate the fact it prevents focus on either musician, instead highlighting both in synergy.
