Regarding [Bethesda and Obsidian are under Microsoft now] - a good chunk of the writing crew that made New Vegas have been gone from Obsidian for a while now. I wouldn't put high expectations if they did make a new title. Mechanics and game feel, yes Josh Sawyer is still there. But for plot/narrative, writers like John Gonzalez are gone. John Gonzalez is especially notable. He was part of Guerilla after Obsidian. As the narrative director I suspect he was largely responsible for Horizon Zero Dawn's good writing, and him (along with several others) leaving midway made sure the sequel would only be lukewarm at best.
As a diehard New Vegas fan, I will be the first to admit that it's a spin-off game. However, Spin-off and "not canon" are not the same. I do believe the game is canon. This comes from many things. There are actually a couple mods that connect the two games for Tales of Two Wastelands. They are pretty lit although somewhat incomplete.
@@Niosai No offense but you're the only person on the internet I've seen that really wants to die on this hill, makes it feel as if you're doing it on purpose.
@@thegamerfe8751 I don't mean to come off as hostile or anything haha I'm just basing my stance on official sources rather than opinion is all. It's okay to disagree with me, and I'm glad people are passionate about an excellent game. Plus, if Bethesda/Obsidian came out and said "Actually, it's a main title." I'd change my mind, too!
Background music is too loud.
I think NV is the best Fallout game in my opinion
Fallout 4 and 76 are the best fallouts.
"I played every spinoff"... uses the most mainline Fallout title to be released in the last 15 years as the thumbnail.
I have a whole segment in the video explaining why I consider New Vegas a spin-off :)
@@Niosai I choose to disagree, largely because the title was assembled from the scraps of Black Isle's original Fallout 3 concept.
Hey Niosai i have a question are you going to review Dragon ball z Kakarot
Eventually! That's for a specific video :)
@@Niosai Ok can't wait 😄
You are confused, every FO game is a spin-off of the wasteland series and new vegas is closer to a successor than the rest of the FO series. Easy mistake to make though.
I think you're also confused. He never said FO was original. the video just says which Fallout games are spin offs from this franchise's main series games.
NV is a spiritual alternate succesor to 1/2. You play 1/2/NV and it's a complete story essentially. Or you play 1 and then 3/4.
It's really 2 intertwined trilogies.
You should play the star wars old republic games
Tbh I was gonna wait for the KOTOR remake to start that series, but I'm considering diving in in the next few months
@@Niosai it would be best to dive in now considering the remake got delayed indefinitely
Averge fallout 4 fan
Vs
Avrege fallout shelter enjoyer.
Ew the whole “main game” debate was so lame lol
Fallout 76 would be so much better if all junk had no weight to it
ooooooo my lanta
I played new Vegas and it was aweful, gunplay needs an upgrades soon as I left that starting area I couldn't kill anything
Have you tried the other games?
@@Niosai on your list, only fallout shelter, main games ain't tried fallout 3 since that new Vegas attempt, I played it years ago doe, I don't know if the gun play is just as bad now, was alright back in the day, and fallout 4, fallout 4 works just fine, only ones I tried, I heard good things about new Vegas so wanted to try it but it felt like trying to smack a mud crab in morrowind 🤣 near impossible
@@eliottdewitt893 Honestly, for as memy as it sounds unless you're using the worst gun on the hardest difficulty, you not being able to kill anything is a skill issue.
@@thegamerfe8751 ay if you say so it's, entirely possible I was just shit, something was definatly up doe, cus the very first people out side the starting town, my bullets did nothing, point blank range without vats still missed or did such little damage I couldnt even notice, I just assumed it was kinda broken now like how oblivions archery is kinda broken now, arrows fire on a delay, and it probably was the worst gun, that very first rifle the woman gives you
@@eliottdewitt893 The first rifle is pretty bad, I don't remember how much damage it does but it's pretty much near the bottom.
Ive never played a single fallout game, i bought 4 but im considering getting new vegas. Does 3 hold up well?
Honestly, if you're looking for a newer style Fallout game to get acquainted with the series, you can't go wrong with New Vegas. I think 3 holds up, but a lot of others don't and honestly, New Vegas is probably the best modern FO game anyways!
@@Niosai thank you my friend, do I need to play 3 to understand new Vegas. Or the others?
@@Likitu264 Nope! You can start with New Vegas and you won't be confused at all. They all have some subtle references to previous games, but they're made so that you can understand them and don't have to have played any others. :)
Fallout 76 is not a spin off game. Just because it's online doesn't mean it's not part of the main series.
It's definitely considered a spin off.
@@Over_Toasted It's not. It's canon game made by the company that owns fallout.
DONT PLAY IN OLD GAMES IN STEAM
I wouldn't exactly call new vegas a spin off game
It is one of the main game of the series
