I watched this after just coming back from an ancient woodland covered in bluebells. You captured a good set of images there. Speaking of how rare whitebells are, I have some growing in my garden - they first appeared in 2021, maybe seeded by a bird during lockdown.
Thanks for watching Russ and hope you managed to capture some good images yourself ! It's funny about the whitebells - I keep seeing them everywhere now - I've obviously not had my eyes open to them before ! All the best and look forward to your next film :)
Always a wonderful watch my friend. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not the world's biggest blue bell fan (I think I've watched too many videos), but what I did love about all of your images was the contrast between the light and the shade - you made beautiful use of that to make these blue bell shots really interesting! By far my favorite image out of these was "Stumped", just a beautiful composition, and again, the contrast was fantastic. Always great to see you out and about! Still looks a bit chilly! Hope you are well mate, have a great week and chat soon!
First off thanks for watching Paul and YT does get saturated at this time of year with the bluebells and wild garlic so really appreciate you sticking with this one. This wood is right on my doorstep (can’t believe in 26 years living here I never knew about it) so it would have been rude not to go down to the woods and shoot the flora ! Funnily Enough Stumped was my favourite too . We’ve just had a beautiful weekend weather wise and much warmer than a few weeks ago - this was filmed from about 05.30 onwards so yep still not warm enough for the coat to come off but definitely will be soon . Thanks again mate and chat soon 👍🏻😊
Some wonderful images here Andrew. Rellay enjoyed following along. Some great tips and thoughts on woodland photography. I was so disappointed last week when the Sun didn't show in our local bluebell woods, but these amazing images make up for that. Loved the white bluebells but the image "Profusion" was my absolute favourite. A real Beauty!! Loved this one Andrew mate - have a good week ahead.👍👍👍👍
Many thanks for watching Dave and I enjoyed some lovely dawn light and dawn chorus that morning - it’s a beautiful spot . Really appreciate the comments and all the best mate 👍🏻
Great images Andrew, as always - I particularly liked all the backlit ones. Good choice going for the 70-200, I always think the compression from a telephoto makes the bluebells look thicker. 👍
Many thanks for watching Robert and all that was missing was the mist 🤣 Had a fab time tho and can’t believe I’ve lived here 26 years and not known of the woods right on my doorstep!
Oh mate you got some right crackers in this one. I had a wry smile towards the end there as you mentioned being very aware throughout of the light. It showed. I had been admiring the contrast you had captured throughout all your shots. It really added depth and atmosphere to the images. There was one, possibly called profusion (in the first third of the vid but I can't quite recall without searching for it!), that instantly impacted me as it pulled out in the screen. Beautifully backlit with the shadows of the trees providing guiding lines, wonderfully composed. Excellent images. I do wonder what those folks at around the 10 minute mark were thinking as they saw you and turned around.....the woman looked like she was having a right good ganders at you!!
Cheers Dave and she was - she asked me if I was making a RUclips afterwards but I had no clue she was there ! Thought I may have hit on some mist with the forecast but it wasn't to be but yes, the light was pretty darn good and your appreciation of the images is great to read :) Thanks for watching mate and all the best - chat soon :)
Hi Andrew, some really nice images there mate, like the rare white, bluebell image that was something a little unusual and the images with the 70 - 200 were really nice. Woodland certainly is a difficult genre but i have started to enjoy it a little more over the last couple of years. Enjoyed this one mate, take care !
Cheers Lee - likewise I do really enjoy woodland more and more especially visiting the same woodlands and beginning to get to know the area and the potential compositions. Glad you enjoyed the film and appreciate the comments as always Lee. All the best 👍🏻
Love those back-lit shots Andrew. Stumped was a great shot too. I've noticed what seems to be an increasing number of pink and white bluebells in our local woodland, maybe I've just become more observant, but there do seem to be more of them.
Thanks for watching Andrew and oddly enough after seeing those white bluebells I've begun to see more of them around and about ! Glad you enjoyed the film and much appreciated as always :)
Beautiful images Andrew and really enjoyed watching the challenge - you certainly captured the spring morning so well 👍🏻🌳
Many thanks guys and much appreciated :)
