  • Jessie from the Glucose Goddess is in every sense of the term, a goddess. As a biochemist, she’s truly a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the subject of managing your glucose levels through pivoting how you consume your food-it’s not so much what you eat, but the order that you eat it in! Her experience and insight will inspire you to learn more about how your glucose levels can impact so many aspects of your health.
They discuss how she got into this line of work, stemming from a lot of pain in her life after a terrible accident at the age of 19. She shares her coping mechanisms to get your mind right when you may be having a bad mental health day, her thoughts on social media, and why she values freedom so much. She’s preparing for her next book launch, “The Glucose Goddess Method” including hacks and recipes like an MWH favorite, adding vinegar in before a meal. Jessie's french accent is simply beautiful, you’re going to be soothed just by listening to her talk! You can also purchase her new book, “The Glucose Goddess Method: The 4-Week Guide to Cutting Cravings, Getting Your Energy Back and Feeling Amazing” now!

Jessie is wonderful, thank you for this podcast Melissa. I’ve been doing the vinegar and water before a meal for a few weeks now and also moving my body within a short time after eating. Usually it’s some squats, maybe a short walk, maybe putting on my favourite music and dancing like a lunatic!
She’s doing such good work, letting us know that blood sugar isn’t just a concern of those with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
Like you two, I’ve had periods of mental health struggle and I notice that when I do, I struggle to take care of the rest of my body in terms of eating well, presentation, hygiene. So by flipping the switch and focusing purely on the physical - such as meditating, gentle and frequent movement, a good sleep routine, a good haircare routine, thorough oral hygiene (oil pulling, flossing, brushing and mouthwash three times a day), dry body brushing, fake tanning weekly as it makes me feel more confident, being more selective with the silhouettes I create with outfits, fasting (following Dr Mindy Pelz advice about only doing certain lengths at certain times in the menstrual cycle to work with our female hormones) - all of these physical non-negotiable techniques have a ‘why’ and I’m so grateful that the reasons and results combined are stronger than any mental health blip. It’s like I’m riding a wave above that and I truly hope it continues because as Jessie says, we don’t need pain, we don’t need to suffer.
    Blessings to you!

I stopped eating cereal/pancakes/anything sweet for breakfast. Very effective.
Eggs and sausages are way better.

I find the idea of eating foods in a certain order can encourage disordered eating. And I don't like the fact that people without blood sugar issues are being told that blood sugar spikes are bad. Unless you have issues are have a diet very high in sugar, the body can deal with blood sugar spikes.
