I actually pulled KOS-MOS when grinding out my last few legendary cores right outside the final boss room on my first play through. I had given up hope and was just pulling blades to fill out my roster for NG+. She was on the third legendary core I pulled during that session. I got her and went: well, now I gotta go do a bunch more grinding.
Too bad pulling her requires performing a pagan blood sacrifice ritual on top of mount Olympus while playing the kazoo dressed as a kabuki during a full solar eclipse to appease RNGesus enough to MAYBE have a decent chance at getting her.
I got Kos-Mos by complete accident trying to get Dagas (i thought he was a darkness blade). I shat myself when she showed up. Good luck to those of you who stil dont have her!
Just picked up the expansion pack and was using the 20 or so legendary cores that came with it when she plopped into my lap. Hadn't even heard of her till today.
@@ogre589 She's from the Xenosaga game trilogy way back on the PS2 (if you can find the trilogy [Episode 1: Der Wille Zur Macht, Episode 2: Jenseits Von Gut Und Bose, & Episode 3: Also Sprach Zarathustra] I would highly recommend playing through the entire thing, even if the trilogy is pretty long, it's one of the best JRPG series of it's gaming era), and KOS-MOS is a fan-favorite from Xenosaga, which is likely why she has popped up in other games like both of the Project X Zone games (in the first game she's paired with her "sister" T-Elos, and in the second she's paired with Mecha-Fiora from the original Xenoblade Chronicles), and XBC2. She also has an absurdly low base summon chance of 0.1%, and even under the best-case scenario her summon chance can't go any higher than around 0.714%, so even under ideal circumstances you will still have a less than 1% chance of getting her, the odds are literally that abysmal. But if you are lucky enough to get her, she's absolutely worth investing in, she's unbelievably powerful regardless of whether you get her in the early-game or late-game (though if it's late-game you'll be able to max out her Affinity Chart much more quickly since her rank 5 skills can't be accessed until you complete the Artificial Intelligence Blade Quest that isn't even available until Chapter 10). If you can't get her, however (or you want to bring even more pain!), Herald is more or less on par with KOS-MOS when it comes to damage, Herald just lacks the absurd healing provided by KOS-MOS's Level 2 Special. If you're hunting super-bosses like Kurodiil or Ken, then Zenobia is also a great option due to her getting a damage buff against higher level enemies (which all Superbosses will be!) and against Bosses, so Zenobia can dish out some obscene levels of damage as well.
It's insane how much dlc changed the game. And despite that, they've managed to stay true to the game and have fun with it. I love going back to these. Back when I got zenobia and it made my day, and then finally getting kos mos and being blown away with the damage I was doing after finishing her chart. I'm glad it's been this long and we're still having fun with this game.
I just started playing like a month ago and have put about 130 hours into it. That's without dlc just got it last night so I have so much more content.
Dude, I’m on chapter 6 and she hits damage cap with an incomplete grid. I beat kurodil with a sub optimal build in 3 minutes and it’s my first playthrough 😂😂😂
I like your perspective on certain strategies in this awesome game. I've subscribed to other channels that offer different perspectives as well that are also good so it really just goes to show the depth of this game's strat's. Keep em coming.
So, I was trying to pull Patroka to work on Mikhails chart, since I need Patroka for a H-to-H to improve Mikhails skills. I was using cores on Rex, since Megalances work well on him, and pulled Kos-Mos out instead. On Rex. Who doesn’t have either the worst or the best Cannon Arts. I guess Rex will work for now, since Kos-Mos is just naturally broken, but I’m going to switch her over to Zeke once I get my hands on an Overdrive.
In my first playthrough I got Azami pretty early on, but I also got Vale early as well, so I usually had Rex use Vale rather than Azami and then once Zeke joined I used and Overdrive to pass Azami over to Zeke. My first 3 Rare Blades in my first playthrough were, in order: Electra, Ursula, & Vale. Those three carried me through much of the game just by themselves. Electra even saved my ass during a certain "boss rush" segment of the game after you reach Elysium, by literally getting those bosses to just kill themselves via reflected damage, I literally just had to have Rex sit there with Electra's shield up and the bosses did everything else for me.
The crit rate aux core only increases her crit rate by 4%. Is that even worth it with her super low crit rate like why not another damage increasing chip?
Man, I followed your guide and i swear i was 2 hours into it. I went "I'll never get fucking Kos-Mos, and the core I was opening literally had her. Congrats for fulfilling your prophecy.
Animaster I got her after something like 300 legendary crystals and *Idontknowhowmuch* rare crystals, so it's just a matter of time. And patience. And hope.
Excited for the new blades and new driver charts for sure. It'll make these guides less stale since I feel like I repeat the part about eyepatch/medal/affinity max attack/other additives every guide. I may try to showcase the blades in a different way too. I feel like I do them solo just to showoff what they can do specifically without any help but that usually isn't the case in actual gameplay.
I have KOS-MOS and my characters only level 60, btw, managed to hit the damage cap with a full burst after breaking 5 element orbs in a burst with the 3rd form of pyra/mythra, don't know what the xenoblade community calls them in that form
kos mos is so good i managed to go from barely being able to beat a few super bosses, to killing all of them just by adding her to the team. i hadnt even fully optimized anything at the time.
having just got kosmos 2 days ago, i thank you (she was my last rare blade from pulls and i was getting near the 1000 core mark since my last rare blade. Most of the cores used were rare or legendary at a rate of 3/1)
Everyone saying they got her after 300 legendary cores while I pulled her from a common one, it took a long time but it's faster then farming legendary cores who are impossible to get
Relentless Arduran say "hold my beer". Seriously it's easy to start a Driver Combo on him and he has immense health to go through. Smashing for Legendary Cores couldn't be any easier.
@@xenorayy Your next best bet then is probably Antecedent Xiaxia. It won't Driver Combo you to hell regularly like Leonine Sadie would and has the same Break Resistance as Arduran (paper thin). A decent health pool as well. Then there is always NG+ if you're done in NG. Just find out how many items you need for the baby to grow, gather them and bring them to NG+. Arduran can be found as quickly as Chapter 2 so you can get your last Rare Blades quickly.
@@hail2jigglypuff168 yeah I recently did ng+ and now he's all nice and grown, I had all the blades with completed affinity charts by then though but at least i did the quest this time
This game would benefit so much if it had something like Gambits from FF12. Something like you being able to imput ai commands where they aren't allowed to change their blades and do specifc moves under certain conditions. In terms of ordering your ai, you could even say that this game is a step back from XC1.
Something similar happened to me. First playthrough, it took me around 138 hours to finally get her. My most recent and newest playthrough? I get her on Rex as soon as I get Nia back.
I got KOS-MOS using the first Legendary Core I found(at the now destroyed area where a certain other light type blade was introduced). I didn't know the chances to get her was so low.
She's great on her own, but so are most chrome katana tanks. She gets outclassed by Herald in a balanced group setting. Where you want to deal damage as a dps, heal as a healer and tank as a tank.
Nia or Zeke are ideal, but Morag can do some very unique things with her. There are a lot of opinions about who works best with Kos-mos but it's simply a matter of what Blades are on whom and which Driver Arts you prefer more. I use her on Nia personally. Rex is ... underwhelming with Kos-Mos. You already have Mythra who is a great Light Blade by herself and Rex has a low Ether damage base and awkward Ether Cannon Arts. Sure Kos-mos will do stupidly high damage anyways but the other Drivers will benefit more from her.
