This decklist is im-peck-able. I like how you saw the viability across colors! Some people saw just grixis, and you went, "Hmmm, toucan play at that game! Maybe even more than two!". Really great video Josh!
What I do love about this combo is the fact that you can run the bird with any partner. The Cauldron and Ballista are each colorless. But Kraum seems like the best option tbh. Both combo and draw in the command zone? Sign me up!
@@ElderDrunkenHighlanderShe was my first combo deck. I've come back to her after other decks. Maybe they'll print some broken cards to make her good again 😅
Fun fact with some of the hermit lines. You got the +1 Counters frrom explore even if your library is empty. So you can win in upkeep without turning the earth if you have cauldron on board. but still a good card incase you get interacted with. Thanks for the video.
Don't you win during the clean-up step if you have francisco + glint-horn? If you can explore enough that your hand size goes back over 7 cards, then you would discard again and trigger Glint-horn and draw more cards, and repeat... similar to end-step wins with Gitrog.
Does this even work? Balista says "Remove a +1/1 counter from Walking Balista ..." But the Pirate is not Walking Balista. Im unsure about the rules here but imo it fizzles, because Walking Balista isnt on the battlefield and doesnt have counters.
Yeah Francisco and Kraum grixis pirates is amazing better than Malcolm and Vial Smasher. The Reaver Cleaver is an excellent equipment for either Francisco or Kraum.
How fringe would you say these are? I see a lot of potential in a lot of the lists, but the Ishai or Thrasios ones are calling out to me most. I'm not expecting them to beat out Blue Farm from it's #1 spot or anything, but could they hold their own against it? Or is this more of a "i like bird" kinda thing?
@@ElderDrunkenHighlander Sweet, thanks! My local group is running a bunch of CEDH this week and I want to bring something spicy no one's seen yet. I think this fits the bill!
Just not a fan of the card, personally. I prefer the lines that use Turn the Earth as I think Turn is less of a dead card. Can easily swap one for the other.
Both lists definitely seem strong. I think thrasios has more of a niche personally. With Kraum I think it’s in a weird liminal space between Rogsi/Inalla and TevKraum in terms of speed/sustainability

Wow you got me good with the puns there, flock you. 😂
Francisco/Malcom is absolutely the way I’m going. Love the idea.

16:37 Thank you for saying the truth...love you xD wish she would make a comeback tho
Same I miss that deck

Dope decks you’re inspiring me to work on some new decks thanks! 🎉
You have me so geeked on this damn bird. Definitely building a few of these currently. About to put the tevesh build together now.
"FranSISSSSco!"
Very informative, I'm printing out mardu franky today.😅
We love to see it

Thanks for the video.
What a cawesome video, let all the land lubbers watching hear the siren's song of the sea and join us in chasing that horizon! 🏴☠️🦜
the dimir one is so cool
The +1/+1 counter gets put on Francisco whether you put the nonland card in the graveyard or not, btw.
Yeah but letting it on top means you are sure you'll be able to repeat it, without decking yourself.
Great video! ❤
Thanks, king.
why is Sensei's Divining Top not in here?

It definitely works.
The Jund pairing is unBeaklievable... Oh the bird puns are the best.

Why flicker over ephemerate? In 2nd decklist
Flicker can target Dihada with a Breach out to make a ton of mana with her - ability repeatedly and set up further combos from the grave
@@ElderDrunkenHighlander makes sense.
Thank you!

I think quite a few of these lists are extremely viable.
Looking through the sultai Thrasios version I saw an intuition. What's typically the pile you go for in that list?
Card I want + Ewit + Finale
I just overhauled the thrasios list and changed a ton of cards. Intuition is one of the ones I cut

Kediss/Francisco for turbo explore.
Would mdfcs work?
They do not count as lands on top
any reason you're not on dread return in the hermit druid lists?

personally I'd run both in hermit druid decks@@ElderDrunkenHighlander
Rly wished they made him a 1/1, 0/1 is a toughie
You can just cast ballista where x = 0
kraum or nothing. Tho I think Thrasios has something here

Francisco Kraum is called KFC
Birb.
