Those external antenna are directional you need to mount them externally and adjust their direction according to the manufacturers website You better off getting cheap omnidirectional first to see if your signal improves.
I’m in the UK with a Nighthawk M1 on o2 with Unlimited Data. I live in Milton Keynes where I get FULL signal, but max download speed I can achieve is around 50mb/s. Does your massive netgear router increase your speeds? Thanks
Have a friend in rural USA trying help her with better Internet solution .. she can get either a M1 or M5 from at&t with being "bound" to the subscription ... but then question is if she should go for M5 despite she only can get 4G (thinking maybe it will run as fast as M2) instead of M1.. well taking into account M1 was better at upload to me seems then not too much difference between M1 and M2 so will recommend then M1
TOTALLY agree with how crap mobile internet is here in the UK! I came from living in Asia, went from 180Mbps download and 45Mbps upload on 4G.... To 15Mbps download and 2Mbps upload on 4G... 😒😒😒🙄
Hey man so the Netgear Nighthawk M5 is out and can't wait for your review, bought a M1 and it's the best investment I made in a long time thanks to your reviews.
Would love to see a comparison between the Nighthawk M1 or M2 and the Mikrotik Chateau12. Imo the only other viable contender for this kind of setup. Thanks!
Hi how is your experience with M1 & M2, did you face any technical issues so far ? I want to buy it but I’ve gone through a ton of bad review, what’s your recommendation ?
Maybe the M2 doesnt support that massive LTE combinations at the moment that EE offers. So that might be the reason for the slower upload speed. But the M2 can do more Download streams so thats the reason why the download is better. An external antenna slows down the speed because it only has 2 antennas but both of the routers have 4 internal antennas so more download speed with the internal antennas :D
just subscribed to your channel as i just biught the M1 Netgear Nighthawk . But could you recommend me a budget wifi netgear router for me to connect from M1
Looking that you have EE what settings are you using in the cellular settings of the system. Could you make a video explaining this. I have antenna and nighthawk M1 and don’t matter what setup I use the router from EE is faster. Could you elaborate how you have this setup please. Thank you
I can’t log into the netgear app to set it up I have just brought the m1 an can’t do anything with it can’t log into the app to setup! Looked all over online I’m desperate for help as I chat use it please any help would be appreciated
Bro, you're in the same situation as me. I live in North London and i can't get fibre, i get 10-15mb upload and MAX 1mb upload. I'm thinking to buy the M1 and get an EE sim only contract so i can stream on RUclips and Twitch. What you think?
I’m not a EE customer but I am a xfinity customer from the United States and speeds are roughly good when lots of devices are connected like 13 devices your WiFi is fine don’t worry about it but on AT&T say goodbye
Great review. The M2 is a Cat20 device which specifically picks up the LTE-A (4G+) signal. I notice you have this running as a modem to Nighthawk router. Are you able to show the settings you changed on the M2 and your router to make this possible?
I have a TP-Link Archer MR600 AC1200 Mbps 4G+ router with a Three unlimited data sim. I was just wondering if you know anything about how the Nighthawk M2 gets such a high download and upload speed? Is it just your area and EE with high speed 4G or is it the Nighthawk M2 just being an absolute beast??
Please help! a non-tech person here. The specs to this device reads window operating system, does that mean it doesn't work with Mac OS? please advise on an equivalent I can use if this doesn't work with Mac. Thank you for making these videos
So if I get Verizons 5g/4gLTE home internet service - what would then be the best set up for the fastest possible speeds on my main PC while having wifi throughout the house. I would like to have a direct ethernet connection to my main pc with the M2 and not use Verizons router. Is that possible?
What is your phone network speed like, i have adsl its a good speed 60 -70 mbps but i could save nearly 20 a month, but my 4g phone has 2mbps would a 4g router be faster i live in apartment area so i was thinking a external antenna or see if there is a difference with 4g+
People shouldn't rush out to buy these...if you're in a dead phone spot the only signal you'll get is satellite internet. I bought an m1 and struggle to get more than 7mbps down and about 3 upload. That's in 2022.
Currently i have the Huawei b535 4g with EE card. The speeds are much slower than my phone on the same network and major rubber banding on gaming. Would a Nighthawk m1/2 likely fix this? Signal is great its just not reliably stable or as fast as my phones speed on the same network right next to it.
What is I just want to use an Ethernet cord to plug it in directly into my pc? Are the speeds still at least decent I’m assuming not as good as what was shown in the video, just curious
I’m struggling with broadband too!!! I am about to move to a new apartment and the speeds on broadband are 1-7mbps!!!! How do I get these speeds over 4G??? Please help me figure out to get the best setup :(
well as i see your uplaod speed was at 100mbps so ir must be using 2CA upload and 2CA download so if ur modem uses 1 band (1CA) the speed drops by half
i think the m1 is the most worth it in term speed of uploading and kind fair speed with downloading.. the m2 it is clearly critically struggling in uploading speed..
Weird isn’t it that as I check the EE site today that the best they seem to be able to offer since hooking up with BT to sell broadband is an 18 month contract, 100gb cap and 31Mb/s for £35. If you want unlimited then £55/month. Where are these speeds on 4G now?
I just looked on EE’s site and it says I can only get 31Mbps here too. Even with the standard 4GEE hub they gave me, I was getting way more than 31Mbps... but your mileage may vary
@TechBlock Bro thanks for your video. I've bought an M1 after watching this - and the speeds are absolute ASS. (Not blaming you or anything at all just a genuine question). So basically the same sim in my phone runs at better speeds?! The download speeds are so shit for what I paid, literally my phones are better- any fixes?

Is the Netgear Nighthawk M2 compatible with 5G networks?

Give it time mate I've had two M2's, the touchscreen went on them unfortunately. Good to see you growing all the best 👍
whats the best 4g router?
Are they still usable even with broken touchscreen??
Great video and exactly what i needed to know about the device, esp. the external antenna option which seems to be omitted when you look at specs.

What about 5G? Huwawei Wi-Fi Pro? Have you tried any 5G options to see the real life difference between the Nighthawk m2 4g speeds and a 5g speed?
ADSL in 2020!!! I haven’t seen ADSL since 2005. I just want a router for the car’s dash-cam. Yep, I live in the 🇬🇧

No wonder signal was crap for M1 device
Can you tell us your thoughts for the heating???? I have try the m1 and is very hot the m2 is better ???
Thx I final got my unlimited data sim for my nighthawk m1 thanks teckblock
Nighthawk is a 4x4 MIMO capable device, sounds like your local mast support 4x4. Switching to a 2x2 antenna reduced that, hence slower speeds.
This Intro is EPIC, European fan
i feel so bad.. im in sweden right... but moving to a house with no fiber or adsl... so imma hop on the 4g lte for a while, then im back to fiber

Hi em I love your channel so so much
Hey, thanks! :D
Do you get better ping with the router, or should i stick on mobile hotspot?
So Is this it’s own internet? Or do I need WiFi?
Important question, is which has the most consistent ping?
Thnx for the video it's cool... I'll keep watching ur video..... Watching from Dublin keep safe....
Hey great comparison - I was just wondering if I could use the M1 without the sim card & plug it to ethernet & use it as a range extender?
You need a sim for M1
use strimmer cables for the ssd and put the cables facing down
Why we need to restart the router to get the maximum download speed? I have this problem too on my m1
when your actually early!
what is the purpose of using usb A cable and you already using ethernet cable
Thanks! a question, the M1 or M2 can be used as portable Wifi Reppeaters too? thanks
Sort of. They call it “offloading” it’s not great
The best thing is get an unlimited mobile sim only and pop it in a mifi unit bought separately
how do it compare to the E5180 cube u have standing there, as i have a E5180s and was thinking of switching. thanks
