The Nighthawk has 4 internal antennas and when you connect the external antenna to it it disables the other 2. You can mod the device to take advantages of all 4.
Tetrafire _ agreed now trying the nighthawk M2 mod. Would love to see some real speed tests with 4x4 MIMO external antennas.
can you explain how to use all 4?
You have to disassemble the unit to access them. I don't have one of these personally, but have looked into getting one, so I have researched them quite a bit. I have seen people either leave them disassembled to keep access to them or drill holes in the outer casing and reassemble the unit. There are other RUclips videos that show where they are located internally.
Man, that's nice
Yes the MR1100 is a bad mother, if you're still interested in an antenna setup I would suggest the wilson directional 75 ohm outside antenna. And combine it with the weboost home 4g kit. Use the paddle antenna as your inside antenna via a sma to f connector adapter. And use the directional antenna in place of the outside panel antenna which will now be your inside antenna. I'm in the sticks, no LoS on tower and I hold rock solid -70dB 70asu. If needed u can combine with netgear mimo pad antenna running into the back of the MR1100 for not much more money. The wilson directuonal antenna costed me like 63 bucks. Worth every penny. The booster/amp that was a little more expensive. That kit ran like 400 bucks but still worth it cuz now it's done
I might cop this soon to improve my quality of life living with roommates that keep their router upstairs 😭

Yeah I'm gonna fold my back seats down have something that tints the windows 100% when the car isint on. Im gonna have solar panels on the roof and a bunch of battery's inside to power the pc. It's a sedan 2019 sti but I assure you. It's possible. I want to live in my car without sacrificing pc gaming ability. My legs will extend into the trunk I will have my monitor with hydraulic arm that is connected to the ceiling with the monitor and that can fold back into place flush with the ceiling. When gaming or at night. Ill just unfold it turn the pc on get my flat short table sit it over my legs while legs extended and body upright. Then get my mouse and keyboard, slide out the monitor, stream games in my car and do top tier performance
@@mrcontroversy222 do you game fine in your trailer? And what do you use for wifi?
he should try removing the baterry and running it solo on the usb type c he would get even better and stable connection cuz when the m1's battery gets hot ans start to slowdown to prevent overheating so without batery when at home u get the best stable connection without interruption
My god I’m so stupid I completely forgot I can remove the battery for max performance I thought it was my shit internet. I know this is a late response but thank you now I can finally stream online with no lag.
Would you recommend this for someone using a 4G LTE hotspot that you get about 50 to 60 ping in the middle of the woods? I really need a better connection in my room
That’s actually not bad ping at all but curious of you did buy a hotspot I’m in a similar situation
@@botx2368 same here
I mean the speeds will be faster so
I live in a rural area hence why I'm watching this vifeo...really wanna get back playing warzone and also ps4 needs Internet for alot of things... I just wanna game and stream Netflix and stuff that's it
So I am using my mobile hotspot in the middle of no where Arizona and it’s way faster than the high speed internet at the hotel. I’m using my iPhone hotspot with Verizon
you should buy two and use windows 10 to bridge the connections in to 1 fast connection. its really easy. hell you could even bridge both of your existing internet connections
I actually bought one of those and I had to return it due to the crazy overheating, that sucker actually got hot enough to physically burn me.
I think you'll get less ping with a Nighthawk M5. The 5G generation is all about latency and jitter reduction. Even if you don't technically have 5G support, you might find some of the optimizations in the new generation of hardware (e.g. even just 802.11AX / Wifi 6 ) mean that gaming performance is improved. The M5 might completely obliterate your ADSL's latency. With a 5G client device (iPhone 12), I see latency as low as 15ms on 4G networks, where 4G devices have 20ms+.
Thanks for the review.
wow that is interesting, i am a competitive gamer and my 4GX gets around 50-70ms ping which is not ideal and i suffer a lot of lag. I know because when i travel to town and use fibre it is amazingly butter smooth and every shot just registers. So your saying the new tech in the M5 router lowers the ping again. I have seen this happen on other routers before.
I hope you don't mind, but just a few questions. Will this Mobile Hotspot work with T - Mobile? If so, can it run games consistently on a T - Mobile plan such as Tf2, Spligate arena warfare, and Rainbow Six Siege?
@@Powerlevelspy no idea. Not American.
I had the m1 and I had to change some setting to be able to play, since I upgraded to the m5 I can't play anymore, says it can't find server or something. know what I can do? I already tried port forwarding. on my ps5

Hey, I have DSL where I live, I can’t get fiber or anything better, it absolutely sucks. Buying the nighthawk m1 with my unlimited AT&T data plan and using it on my gaming console (ps4) WITH a LAN cable plugged straight for the nighthawk into my console will give me a good connection little to no lag with a good download speed?
I was paying 80euro for fiber optics and switchet to same type of device you got. Now I am paying 15euro. Quality is like 20% less but still beast for money. Love that.
Hi TechBlock, is this 4G LTE - Nighthawk M1 suitable for RUclips Live Streaming for about one hour and 30 minutes?
Thanks in advance.
Is it that speed all the time? Or does it slowdown after a certain amount of data used?
glad to hear ping in the mid to late 20s is acceptable. over here in australia i'm having 4G internet with ping between 11ms to 17ms so i'm pretty happy with that :)
What are you running?
@@Scott-pk1yo what do you mean by "running"?
@@inverse_of_zero haha wasn’t expecting you to reply as it’s been 7 months. Umm, just wondering if you were using the net gear he had in the video or just a normal wifi router?
@@Scott-pk1yo even after 7 years I'd probably reply I have notifications turned on 🤗I have used the netgear many years ago; I can't remember the ping or upload but the download was nearly 500 megabit which was awesome. In recent years I have used some Huawei/Nokia 4G/5G router/modems provided by ISPs (but you can also buy them online e.g. ebay) and you put in a data SIM.
@@inverse_of_zero yea nice. I’ll try out the net gear. Looking for something whilst gaming. I move from one place to another at times so it would be good to carry it with me and use it wherever I go. Thanks mate, hopefully it does me good
I feel you man i can only get adsl it takes me like 6 hours to upload a video. I’m getting 100 mbps download on a 4g ee connection and 25 ping in my room on my phone. Do I get a unlimited sim and just keep swapping it from router to phone?
Yeah I can only get 1mbps wifi for $120 a month and it sucks but there's no reception here, what did you do?
no b I got an unlimited sim for £30 and I get 50 mbps down and 50mbps up. So way bad than my ads connection. And for gaming I get 10 ping

so as someone who’s never bought anything like this before and is simply trying to game on a PS5 or PS4 with little to no lag or no kinda issues at all this would be a good buy?
I live out in the boonies, and these mobile hotspots have saved me from paying out of the ass for mid-level internet. Instead of paying 90 bucks a month, I'm paying 50 for somewhat the same speeds, if a bit slower.

I personally use a hotspot device and I can kinda sum up the details of my plan. I totally recommend this over Wi-Fi any day for where I live. But I run a T-Mobile plan, I purchased a grandfathered in account from when they had a plan going few years back to where I only pay 50$ a month for unlimited data and no slow down speeds and I get about 45 download and 20 upload. I’ve had it about 8 months now and I use it as my home Wi-Fi and I usually use 400 - 500 gb a month and still no slow down.
In tears when I saw his download and upload speed
AT&T trash gives me at its highest 2.5 download and has never gone above .4 upload
hiii, it doesn't use hot spot data? It uses cellular data, like a phone plan?
I have been running on 800 kilobytes down, i live in a rural area. What unlimited service are you using for the router? (Sim card)
Yo so does this work if my wifi sucks? Like I try to make videos with multiple devices but I keep getting kicked off
What’s ur data plan like
Also what’s ur GB cap off?

Hey, did you need a specific sim/plan from EE to get this? I was going to get a data sim only deal from EE and find this router elsewhere, but don’t know if you need a certain type of plan from EE to get these speeds?
I play on 4GX with a netgear router, similar to yours. I play apex Legends and i get 50-70ms ping, it is fairly laggy. Counterstrike is old, try gaming on a new game its a different story if you are competitive. Fibre optic is way superior.
it doesn't use hot spot data? It uses cellular data like a regular phone?

Hello nice setup and pretty good router. Do you have 2 EE sim card in your two modem?
I have the zte mobile hotspot router through att and my speeds were at 20 mps which to us is blazing fast but now all of a sudden im lucky if i can get 5 mps. My games are always slow and laggy. I've tried updating it and resetting the router no improvements. Should I get the router your using or wait for the new 5g updated version to release?

Is this one need a wifi connection from the house of where im in?
I want to play warzone 2 on my ps5 but uni accomodation has NAT 3 wifi which is gamer’s nightmare. Do 5g or 4g routers have lag? Also do they need open windows because the uni accomodation doesn’t have windows and relies on internal ventilation :( . The management here also doesn’t allow nbn installations which makes matters worse. My phone has a poor reception signal in my room and tried its 5g as hotspot to my ps5 and lag was horrible, will 5g or 4g routers be any different? I live in Australia btw, thanks for reading
Did u get it sorted out?
Hi, Can you tell me what type of EE Sim card you have, I have looked at the EE web page and see they have Phone SIMs and Tablet and wifi SIMs. I take it you have the Tablet and wifi sim?
Because for net neutrality, providers aren't allowed to restrict sims to certain devices. I use a SMARTY unlimited phone SIM in my 4G router and it's worked fine now for 2+ Years. £18 for unlimited data isn't bad!!!!!!
