Terial magic is so awesome. I have used it for embroidery projects as well. Thanks again for turning me on to it. Machine embroidery is so fun and it's a great skill to add to your repertoire.
Hey! Thanks for your tips! I’m sure someone’s mentioned it but if you have an iron or a cricut press of any size you can fold the shirt in half and just iron a crease in it instead of having to draw. Although some people love the marker method, I thought I would share as I got so many great hints from you in this video
Thank you for posting how you do t-shirts! My daughter wanted a onesie done for my granddaughters christening, iI did it the way you showed in the video and it came out perfect!!! Great video!
I really love your Sewing Report. You cover so many different topics that interest me. I don't usually get to comment because I am normally holding one of my 7-month old twin grandsons that live here with us. Just remember I am here and loving your videos.
Love the video please explain why the fabric spray you are using two cut away stabilizer. I’m new and use cut away and tear away with excellent results but if the spray helps my consider using it, too. Thank you
I need to know what you think about the Janome 400E! I’m looking for my own machine that has a bigger embroidery field like that machine, but I have no experience with machine so I’d be glad to get your advice !
Can you explain how you make the lines again? For instance, if I want to embroider a design onto a hoodie where do I want to place my hoop so it's centered on the hoodie and maybe 3-4 inches below the neckline.
Sewing Report have you ever used white cloud? I've seen people in different videos use both. But I ask in an embroidery group, which one would the recommend and both that answered to me that neither one stays put. They wash away. Had that happened to you? Thanks.
Greetings! Great tutorial. I have a question. I notice you did not mention the colour thread use for your bobbin and steps. Do you need to change the bobbin colour each time you change your upper thread when working with a project? Any feedback will greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Yes, all machines that look similar to a regular domestic sewing machine will require you to change out the thread for each color switch. If you don't want to do that, there are multiple needle/thread machines but they are more for commercial use (if you have an embroidery business) and are a LOT more expensive.
So there are a lot of comments so perhaps you answered this already. I just got a PE 800 been loving your videos on it compared to so many who aren't actually talking about this machine and there are a lot of key differences from earlier machines. My big question is tension. I tried to do a T-shirt last night using tear away stabilizer and knit kids t-shirt with a layer of water soluble on top and it was pulling through the bobbin thread to the top. I'm not new to embroidery I have had a Janome 250 for years now. This tells me it is a tension issue but when I adjusted the tension I saw zero difference. I eventually changed out the bottom bobbin for a new thread and it worked fine for 1 color and then the next color change it kept sucking the top thread and balling at the bottom. This is all on the same tension setting. I get the feeling the PE800 is extremely picky so suggestions on tensioning, layers of stabilizer and such would be helpful. I want to love this machine but I spent 4 hours crying over it and then found a cigarette and I quit smoking 6 years ago! It was THAT bad! Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
First off, I would like to say I enjoy watching your videos! I have a few questions. 1.) What type of thread do you use? 2.) What is the name of that marker you used to mark the t-shirts?
You said you put a layer of water soluble stabilizer on top because it's a knit. Why for knits? I am a beginner but thought you only put a layer on top if it was fluffy like towels or something. Awesome vid! And you are sooo right about not walking away, EVERY TIME I do something goes wrong! Even when it's been going great for say 15+ min.
Digitizing probably isn't in my natural wheel house right now, and the software is REALLY expensive. If I needed to do it a lot, it's something I might consider, but more cost effective if every once in a while I pay $10 for someone else to do it better than I could.
Can you please give us a word of encouragement. How was your beginning in the embroidery world. I’m new to and I’m getting really frustrated and overwhelmed about it. I’m a single mom and I Really need to learned this🙏❤️
Did you turn the shirt inside out and stitch the inside? I have this machine and can’t figure out how to get the shirt to wear it doesn’t catch and or stitch through both layers. I see you moved the excess material out if the way
Thank you for showing us this. BTW, the lever on the darning foot is SUPPOSED to touch and rest above the needle screw bar. That way, the foot raises a tiny bit when the needle is in the up position and you are moving your fabric. Otherwise the foot stays down the whole time, touching the fabric. When you move the fabric you get a slight tug/stretch of your fabric which is a no no. Hope you can bend the lever back where it belongs, as designed by professional engineers.
I am a true "newbie" to embroidery. After the birth of our granddaughter, my husband gifted me with a Brother pe800. Do you have videos that would walk me step by step monogramming?

Same! Did my first one last night on my brand new Brother SE1900, and the design for my front left corner adhered to the neck band, trapping the hoop in between. Had to cut it away, the shirt will now be a cleaning rag. 😣

That is what i want to do with a t shirt but do you think that can do some like you did with my brother se 425 ? What size of hoop do I need to do it?
You can, it does look like the Brother SE425 has a hoop size limit of 4x4 so you just have to do designs that fit into there.
Oh ok thank you !!! ..just I wanted some big like yours .it is very nice
Thanks for sharing such an excellent explanations step by step. 😍 your tutorials.
Hey did you do the hat with the 800 also?

First time getting to use it for embroidery, but it is rocking that application!
Where can i purchase this stablizer
Thank you! I just purchased this machine. Your tutorials are every helpful!
Happy to help! I really enjoy using it and find more things to embroider all the time. It surprised me how much I have this one running.

Thank you so much and congratulations on the new babies in the family!!!! I'll try to keep it clean for the kiddos!
Tampa bay!
love how easy you set things up putting no stress on the shirts. no other video I watched did it this way

They're both very beautiful.
Thank you!
Fantastic embroidery hoop👏.
What will happen if I don’t use stabilizer backing ? Will there be a difference?
Loved your video.😘

I'm a bit confuse, so when you will cut the excess thread, does the machine have like a pause function?
Can you do a video on how to embroider a logo/names on work shirts?
Can you explain how you make the lines again? For instance, if I want to embroider a design onto a hoodie where do I want to place my hoop so it's centered on the hoodie and maybe 3-4 inches below the neckline.
What kind of topper (water soluble brand name) do you use - does this keep the color of the t-shirt from showing thru on white filled designs?
Now I want that machine!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I really love this thing...
Me too. Been eyeballing it. Lol
full thanks for your efforts
when you switch the colors did you change the top thread or the bobbin for some reason my machine only uses the bobbin colors
When you "trim as you go", do you press a stop button?
Hi, do you have a tutorial video on how to embroide logo on polos?
Hi, thanks for the video. question, do you use any type of backing to cover the stitches from being itchy?
Sulky Tender Touch works great for this amzn.to/3gm0oVs

Nope, haven't tried any that so can't speak to it. I did wash the T-shirt with the Tender Touch and it stayed put alright.
Hi! What stabilizer do you recommend for a t-shirt 60% cotton and 40%polyester?

Hi Elizabeth, did you find out the solution to this? I just started embroidering and came across this problem
What’s the water soluble topper supposed to do?
Where can I get staberlizer from?😀
Just wondering how is terial magic different from Best Press or regular spray starch 🤔
First off, I would like to say I enjoy watching your videos! I have a few questions. 1.) What type of thread do you use? 2.) What is the name of that marker you used to mark the t-shirts?
Thank you Raven! Here's the breakdown of my embroidery supplies and those items are in there: kit.com/sewingreport/machine-embroidery-brother-pe800
@@SewingReport i cant find the link anymore. I really want to see the list of your supplies 😒
Could you please share where you get all yout fonts?
Can you give tips about embroidered a fleece please.
When did you spray it?

You could probably skip the topper, but I have been doing it for knits and just like the way the stitching comes out.
I use toppers on anything that is fluffy or has a raised pile it helps the stitching sit proud of the pile instead of sinking into it.
Thank you for your video, thank you for your voice as well very beautiful
Hi question I just bought my pe 800 how can I make my image larger
I just got my PE800 and want to register it but can't find the serial number. Can you tell me where it is?
Do you start off with the entire design on the machine or do you have to piece it together
Do you ever adjust the tension on the bobbin?
Maybe a tutorial on how to thread and other good stuff maybe?(fingers crossed)
This was really helpful thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it!
What sewing speed did you use?
What Esty digitized do you use? Thanks
What is "water soluble topper"?
Where can we buy such kind of machine in the Philippines....
do the hoop marks stay on forever ?
Are there any videos on how to actually load the hoop in? I can’t seem to find how to do it anywhere, total newbie 😥
Have you considered learning to digitize? Or is it easier to commission each time?
Digitizing probably isn't in my natural wheel house right now, and the software is REALLY expensive. If I needed to do it a lot, it's something I might consider, but more cost effective if every once in a while I pay $10 for someone else to do it better than I could.
U drew markings on the shirt, is the ink erasable? sorry for sounding stupid question cos im new to sewing 🤗 im just starting
It's an air soluble marker so it disappears in about a day

Test out the designs on scrap fabric before the "good" item. You'll save yourself a lot of headache. Experiment a lot and don't give up!
Can you please do a video showing how to align T-shirts / hoodies in the top left area for logos please
Where can I find the no show mesh cut away stabilizer? I couldn't find it in my local joann store. Thanks so much for all the info!

Does this machine embroidered by itself?
What is the brand...how much does this embroidery machine cost
Did you center the second shirt and hat the same way you centered the first one?
Yep!
What needle size/type do you recommend? My PE 800 is on its way, and I want a few extra supplies for it.
I'm just using Organ ball points (even on woven fabric) 75/11 and 80/12
@@SewingReport Thanks for your quick response! Can't wait for my machine to arrive, in the meantime, loving your videos. (:
Will any of the other hoops fit this one I've looked all over the internet and can't find any that say pe 800 version.
It's still a fairly new machine, so that's probably why. I think the PE770 accessories will fit, I bought these extra hoops: amzn.to/2PlJyI5

I kept the front right side out, but sort of turned the back inside out to come up around the hoop.
What type, brand and weight of thread did you use?
The thread I used here is in an Embroidex starter kit listed in my supplies: kit.com/sewingreport/machine-embroidery-brother-pe800
