CONGRATULATIONS!!! I love your videos because you make them easy to follow, you are not just talking away about other stuff during your explanations which is huge for me, other ones talk so much that I get tired and leave them. You are to the point on what we want to learn. Keep up the great work, you make me not afraid to try new things as I am a big newbie!!!
Just found your videos! Wow 🤩!!! Not to sound totally corny, but you’re the “Bomb Diggetity”! I’ve never seen so many videos on just about every cricut and craft topic I love! All I can say is “THANKS”! Glad I found you.
I've been wanting to make shirts that are more permanent than HTV, and am so glad I came across your video. So helpful, descriptive, and I love all your tips. Thanks so much, excited to try it out!
You explain everything so clearly. I did have a question the other video I watched had you doing registration marks and letting it dry completely and using a new stencil for the second color. You made it look so simple. I love screen printing more videos please.
Ombré effect would be interesting to see with silk screen !! When doing 2 colors you said you don’t want to remove screen. I am assuming that you would only bring the 1st color to the end of the design and then back up???? Great tutorial!!! I’m not surprised as you are always very thorough, just right pace, speaking volume and with clear easy to understand explanations!! 🥰👍🏻👏👏🥰
Thx Angie ...my favorite video was learning how to do silk screening. I would love to learn how to layer Oracle 651.. there has to be an easier way then how I tried it....
I find your videos among the most informative. I love the bits of science you throw in to explain the why's and why not's. Could you have unzipped the zipper on the pouch you printed on to make placement easier?
I would love to see you do a screen on tile. I spent many years working with silk screening tiles and then hand painting. That business is gone now but always wished I could do more for personal use. The supplies and the making of designs for screening now seems obsolete. Janice
Totally adicted bought the We R Memory keepers new silk screen tool, cant wait to get started with it and your teaching. Could you do some designs on wood using the cricut vinyl cut outs. Also maybe some ot the metal sign blanks you can get at Dollar Tree and if you do how would we seal them to use outside. Thank you and if its not too much trouble using multiple colors of ink and how to do registration marks with the cricut. Ive tried but couldn't get the hang of adding the registration marks.
I have just tried your method out - well pleased with the results especially where you isolated parts of the screen to get a separate print. Not sure about using HTV on the screen for long runs as I thought the mesh was polyester and has fairly low melting point !!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Hi Angie, Thank you for the tutorial, it was very helpful. I couldn’t find the link to the materials needed. I looked for read more but I don’t see it. Is it still suppose to be there? Carol
Omg. So glad I found this 1. For fabric. You use HTV? 2. If you use easy press what temp and how long do you press 3. What are the pros and cons of this vs just HTV I subscribe to your Chanel. So will I get notifications each week when you do your videos. Thank you so much. What a game changer
You can screen print just as I have shown with vinyl. You could add HTV to the screen instead to make a permanent screen. You would press for the time/temperature for silk as that would be the closest material. Pros of this would be it is so much easier if you are making a bunch of one type of shirt. Once you make your screen, it is quicker that HTV for multiple shirts. Cons are that this is not really practical if you just want to make one or two shirts.
@@AngieHolden don’t really understand the HTV process that will be another lesson. Just wanted to make sure that what you used was permanent or removable vinyl. Thank you
Cheers☕ from Ontario Canada I ordered Ikonart my question is Whats the difference between Stencil film and Fabric texture film? I realize the texture film is for clothing. Does that mean the other is for...wood ,glass and so on? I love screen printing I have a 4 station 4 colour press I taught myself on a speedball I love it. @@AngieHolden I don't know how baby food comes where you are but here some still comes in glass with screw lids and would make excellent reuse resource.
Hi Angie, I love this video. It is very informative. I do have a question about the speedball ink. You mentioned you mixed two colors and made gray, You also mentioned you cannot save the ink you made. What is the reason? does it dry out or not stay together? I am just curious. Thanks :)
Nice video. I just did my first screen print, 4 samples on different materials. The screen still has a stain around it, is there a way to remove that? Thanx for the help. Imay have waited too long to wash it. It took maybe 5 minutes to print them all.
I just found you and your channel snd signed up for emails and I’m so excited! I ordered a kit and some paint and I’m just watching again before I go for it! I’m super nervous 😬. I know practice and trial and error is how you learn. The machine intimidates me🤣. Is it a MUST that you use permanent vinyl? I have some Cricut brand of both stencil/permanent but just curious. I also bought some permanent from the dollar tree for random practice projects. It’s definitely not the best but great to practice with snd kid projects. Also, curious if you would use that cheaper vinyl or simply stick with the good stuff? Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial! 😀you make this look so easy!
I haven't used the dollar tree vinyl so I am not sure on that! I wouldn't waste the stencil vinyl on this project. I would use it for applying directly to wood.

@angieholden great video! One question. I want to make a permanent screen. I haven’t bought it yet but If the screen is locked into the frame is it easy to remove so the vinyl can be permanently ironed onto the mesh?
You made the comment that you can iron on the vinyl to the screen to make it permanent. Where do you get the replacement screen and what temp would you iron the vinyl on to it so you can keep it to use over and over.

Lol OMG annoying noise. You always have good ideas. Any to use to burnish the vinyl? 😃

Hello Angie, should the shirt be 100% cotton or polyester for the screen printing???
It doesn't matter!
You made the comment that you can iron on the vinyl to the screen to make it permanent. Where do you get the replacement screen and what temp would you iron the vinyl on to it so you can keep it to use over and over.
You can get replacement screen on Amazon. And I would use the instructions for adding HTV to silk. Check your brand of HTV and what they recommend.
How does it change if you do a dark fabric? I'd love your tutorial on that. This definitely has made me dive in, I'm probably going to stock up TODAY!
On dark fabric, you are going to have to do several coats of ink. So apply one coat, dry it then apply another coat, etc.
Great video! I am definitely going to try this! Thank you!
Hope you like it!
really good video thanks
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
When you tape off a part of the design (like to only print the plant), which side of the screen do you tape off?
I tape off the top.
Hi Angie! Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you had a link for those craft sticks with the flat end that you used for scraping up paint? Thanks!
I don't! They were stir sticks from ETI (the resin company).
@@AngieHolden OK thanks! Man, this looked really handy for scooping up paint!
Have you done this on acrylic? If so, should you thin the acrylic paint with a medium?
I haven't used acrylic yet anyway!
Hi and thanks for a great video. What mesh is your screen? I'm finding 110-250 and all in between. TIA
I used a 110.
That’s was awesome !
Thanks!
You said use you iron and it’s temperature but what if your using a EasyPress?? What temp? How long?
320 degrees F for about 40 seconds should be fine. You can check the speedball website for specifics.
Hey Angie! If I screen print on a tri-blend tee (thinking Bella Canvas or District), what temperature should I use for my heat press to set the ink?
Check with the instructions for whatever ink you are using.
So helpful! Thank you
You're so welcome!
Can you use a heat press to set vs using iron? What temperature setting if that is the case
You definitely can! The ink usually has instructions.
Do you think it's possible to use brushes in multicolor prints to be able to avoid using tape? Thank you in advance!
I am not sure if the brush will press it in well enough. You might experiment with a stencil brush as they have stiff bristles.
So you weeded the vinyl?
Yes before applying to the screen.
Did you say this method is temporally? Like does if fade off after several wash?
The shirts are permanent. The screens are temporary if made with the adhesive vinyl.
Can you screen print on a polyester shirt? Will the ink crack?
You can! It should be fine!
is this more cost effective and more time effective comparing to heat press HTV
It would be if you have a bunch of one thing to make.
Can you use heat press instead of an iron?
Yep definitely!
2nd Q. Would this technique be cheaper than sublimation?
I have not went through the costs of each. Sorry!!
Hi Angie, do you need to mirror your image
Yes if you are putting the vinyl on the BACK of the screen you would.
@@AngieHolden Thank You 🙂
Can I use my cricut heat press instead of an iron? About what temp?
You can! Generally the ink you use with have recommendations for heat setting.
How long and temp would you recommend for the cricut heat press?
Definitely look on the ink you are using as they are all different.
What type of paper transfer tape u using and can u use medium to high
I would use just regular tack and I am unsure of the brand.
So wait your saying if I want a permanent design on my shirt I should use iron on paper?
Not at all. If you want your screen print to be permanent, you can to use an iron in order to cure the ink. There are various ways to make a shirt.
@@AngieHolden thank you for your reply
What type of Cricut do you use? Thanks!
I have several different Cricut machines so all of them! You can use any of them for a project like this.
how many layers have you done on one shirt
I am NOT great at layers but I have seen people do a bunch!
Does silk screening last longer than iron vinyl?
I have never actually tested it. Sorry!
wonderful!!! thank you
Our pleasure!
Love this! Thank you so much! 💜
No problem 😊
Q. Best layering placing practice? Mean on tee from collar below how many inches you leave to add design?
It is generally about 2 inches down from the collar.
Really interested in doing this for fun and profit but Im conserned about copyright issues. I can't remember what Cricuts policy is.
Try this: www.thecountrychiccottage.net/image-and-svg-licensing/
Does the vinyl have to be permanent?
That is what I have had the best luck with.
Can you silk screen multicolors?
You can but it is easier if you have special equipment.
Is there any reason you didn't use the easy press to set it?
My iron was closer! You can use either one!
Hi. How many prints you can make with one sticker?
It totally depends. If you are doing just one color, I would say 10 - 20. If you switch colors, that weakens the adhesive so it is less.
So if you use iron on that means it won't come off the screen correct?
It shouldn't!
Can you use the Cricut Easy Press instead of an iron?
Of course! My iron was just handy!
@@AngieHolden awesome, I think I've added a new craft to my arsenal.

Is there a recommended vinyl for re-usable
For a screen you want to use for a long time you would use HTV.
@@AngieHolden This idea is great! Can you pop the screen out of the frame and have multiple screens to insert in the frame for various designs? That is a good reason to use HTV for the stencil.
