Happens all the time. we have it here with Vietnamese workers, owner puts them up in stalls in his basement, pays them almost nothing until they qualify for resident status.
Should shut down the restaurant. People only learn when you touch their wallet. Don't arrest to have free meal, free everything in jail, deport and close the restaurant.

Agreed, the lady admitted that she already had in her words, "two boys" from obviously a previous failed relationship? She further indicated that she would find living in India difficult if his visa was refused as all her friends and family remained in the UK. Given her age, the fact that it was not ascertained that she could speak and write in the native language within India if she stayed there and the biological prospect of having further children with a man who in all liklihood will be seeking this, then surely you would have the good sense to refuse the visa?

That doesn't mean it's sham marriage. Some culture don't show affection publicly. If I the British woman was not interviewed, he probably wouldn't have gotten the visa. But I think the woman was believable.

I cannot believe they accepted that as a true marriage, I know someone who worked abroad for 20 years, got married, been happily married for 14 years and they had a 12 year old daughter. Lost his job and decided to return to the UK. He and his daughter were allowed back but his wife was refused a visa. Total double standards, it depends on the immigration officer doing the paperwork, obviously the one in this instance was a lot more sympathetic.

A lot of immigrants end up immigrating again somewhere else in a decade or 2. Ending up with no good pension and end up harming their own interest.

My bank would never do that. Even the taxman has to get court documents before my bank will give out such sensitive info.
I myself as the account holder have to provide certain info when I phone to verify something on my statements. They wanted my ID number, the phone number I use as well as other personal/private details to verify my identity over the phone.

As a Republic of Ireland passport holder living 20 years in the U.K. (England) I find it very strange that I’m not checked by immigration officers as often as I should be, given the current debates about illegal immigration and even if employers and others do other checks - I always carry my original Irish passport on my person at all times, which I keep regularly renewed and present as required to any police or other official bodies - in the past few years, governments in both the U.K. and Ireland have allowed far more lax immigration policies and I suspect that going forward, these policies will have to become far stricter, especially post-Brexit

Why shouldn't it last. I live in a 3rd world country it's nothing to see British expat men in their 60s married to 20 + year olds. Atleast this lady won't have young kids in her golden years of happiness. It's the one thing that brings a smile to see some old British /European bloke ending up with babies and toddlers. As far as I'm aware China is the only country that you aren't allowed lighters or matches yet there is a flame inside the smoking rooms to allow you to light up

I entered college in 1965 (which is undoubtedly before this guy was born) and I can tell you EXACTLY what I was planning to major and minor in and what sort of degree I would earn. It is IMPOSSIBLE for me to believe he attended college and "can't remember" what he studied. He sure didn't hesitate to throw his wife under the bus, did he?
Call me a skeptic but I think the young Indian man will go to the UK with his older bride and as soon as he becomes a citizen of the UK, he will dump her and get himself a younger woman. If she were my friend, I would urge her in the strongest possible terms NOT to marry him.
