Sometimes, people bring excess tobacco at the behest of others for the promise of a small reward. But if every attempt at excess cigarettes were met with a punishing fine (like 10 times the evaded duty plus seizure of the product), that would put the fear of god into potential smugglers.

I am still able to function but my accent gets thicker and my communication skills drop, it’s an emotional reaction... Therefore, I always cut them some slack...

Silk Cut is a British brand of cigarettes and they don't have the graphic statutory warnings on cancer that all cigarette brands are required to have on their packs as per Indian law. There's no way he could've purchased them in India under legal means.

When illegal immigrants are discovered in the UK, if they have no passport, the Home Office instructs the Immigration Officers to release them into the community and tell them to report to a certain office every two weeks. What a wonderful system and comment would be superfluous.

What does it matter? Like you saw they don’t have a passport so they only send them out of the port, they will be on a new truck the next day untill it will work and they get in the UK. Just open up all borders because it is useless when a country has no laws to really stop it.

Indian law hardly kills anyone, even the hardcore criminals are pardoned or released. UKs undeserving hospitality and lack of punishment is the main reason for repeated offenders again and again trying their best to get in to UK. In order for any EU country to deport any individual it most have confirmation of that person's country of origin.

The US treat "clandestines" very differently on the US-Mexico border. I don't think they're that polite.
As an American citizen I am actually shocked that we get the bad reputation for border control and ICE agents implementing the law when clearly Europe has the biggest border control issue I ever seen.
What you see here are the worst examples. The problem with the US border control is that it is often a terrible experience even for normal people. Have fun traveling to the US once you get on the SSSS list for some reason, which seems to sometimes happen pretty randomly...
Living 20 years in the U.K. as an Irish passport holder and with family in Ireland, whom I visit frequently, the failure of the U.K. immigration system for at least 10 years now has indirectly impacted my native Republic of Ireland, as many of these immigrants abuse the Common Travel Area between the U.K. and Ireland, even post-9/11, post-Brexit and post-Covid - I travel home by train and ferry via Holyhead - Dublin and I see it getting worse all the time
